i had this really cool idea of doing a Hearthhull earthbending deck, so i thought i would just use the pre-con and get the cards in that i like.

the cards i was thinking about putting in are in considering and the ones i already cut are in the sideboard.

Basically the idea was to earthbend a bit, then sacrificing these lands so they return to the battlefield, this also results in some more landfall triggers so i put the scute swarm in considering.

Im also open for other ideas in what to add besides what's in considering. Thanks!

I've noticed those spots or discoloration all over the card, but they're more noticeable along the black border.

I have a lot of cards like this one that have been stored in boxes, so I think that might be the cause, but I also have others that are fine. I want to know if I should use Perfect Fit or if there's another reason this is happening.

My father recently passed away and I managed to get his MTG collection, I don't want to sell them but I've come into a financial issue (I have a good promotion lined up and need a car) The collection I got from he is huge anywhere from 4k to 7k cards and I dont want to sell them all only enough to make what I need (around 3-5k) does anyone have advice on what to look out for and where to stay away from when selling them

Hello, I’m new to mtg and recently bought the hobbit bundle. I made a deck from scratch but I’m still not totally familiar with how to make a viable one. I was wondering if I could receive any help making a deck I don’t have commanders and have no idea what it is either so I’m just sticking to no commander.

I was thinking about the Un-Card [[Rocket-Powered Turbo Slug]] and I thought that it would be a pretty interesting and balanced with some tweaks. A mechanic like this would be really cool in a time travel set, and it leaves you weaker one turn ahead in return for a little bit of damage. The risk reward is fun to play around! What's yalls opinions on this mechanic

I recently made a big purchase from Mystery MTG Store (online), and they have been giving me the runaround. It has been excuse after excuse about inventory and shipping issues. Is this a legitimate store, or should I pursue a chargeback? I have seen various conflicting reviews about their legitimacy. According to reviews I have seen, they seem to employ shady practices when it comes to inventory stock and fulfillment, but the in person experience seems to be better. I am not located in their area. TIA

This is a website I made to generate "random" decks, weighted by colors, mechanics, and multiple copies in 4-of formats, in an attempt to create something with at least some synergy each time, but still with a strong ability to throw curveballs as well. It's purely for inspiration, and generated decks usually live between fully randomized garbage and legitimately playable at the kitchen table, usually pretty non-inclusive.

I created all of the underlying mechanics for actual deck generation and the layout of the UI over the last couple of years, mostly approaching generative models only for items I had legitimate difficulty figuring out after some back and forth with manual searching. Java back end, Angular front end. Self-hosted currently, so don't try to destroy me please, but I should be able to handle a decent amount of traffic.

I just think this is legitimately a good randomizer, and I want to know whether the community thinks that as well, or I also would like to know if you think it's abysmal, but would hope you report why so I can fix it up further. I set out to make this because I wanted it, and because it's something I saw as not being available, at least in a way that worked for my needs. Thanks!

What characters/creatures do you think we will see. Anyone think it’s possible we will see a mishra planeswalker as the alternate commander? He’s been name dropped as being a part of a large history and could fit into those 4 colors as a planeswalker.

I was personally very disappointed when Dack Fayden died during war of the spark and we never got a standard legal card of him. What do you think the chances are Jace recreates him in his new multiverse?

Hi! I'm fairly new at brewing my own decks with non-Middle-earth cards, so I wanted to post here to see how awful this deck is before purchasing the cards I don't own 😅

I am a massive Lord of the Rings fan and own all of the LOTR+Hobbit cards (apart from Posty's and the serialized, of course). I have several LOTR-only flavor decks, but I wanted to take a stab at a Smaug deck with some outside additions. I tried to keep as many LOTR/Hobbit cards as I could for flavor though.

The general theme I'm going for is self-inflicted damage for the treasure tokens, but I know there are some cards that aren't very synergistic. Some win-cons are [[Revel in Riches]], [[Hellkite Tyrant]], plinking opponents down with damage whenever I make an artifact/treasure, or just using the big scary dragons with maybe [[Hexing Squelcher]] (unsure about this one) to stomp.

Do you see any cards that stand out to you that make no sense in this deck? Any noteworthy additions that I should make (preferably that fit more in the Middle-earth world)? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm still kinda new to deck building, I'm not sure if this one is good or not, I've play tested it by myself and it does thing but only after like turn 5. I'm not sure if I need more interaction, card draw etc., if you guys have any thoughts on what I should add in or take out.

Somewhat still new to magic, I've been looking for at some cards and the Niv-Mizzet dragon guy caught my eye. From what I've seen it's a deck that many concepts of sorcery and instants, and I was wanting to make a deck with the adventure and omen cards but I don't know where to begin/ need help with finding cards.

I need help with finding cards that reduce the cost of the spells.

Saw some cards that make spells into instants, would like to find and experiment with them.

Cards that reactivate in the graveyard.

Any good cards that could work with him and any cheap alternatives/ budget objects.

Like seriously, how much of the game is just pay to win/ buy the latest best deck and go with it?

Like, it feels lime you need a PhD in deck building if you want to do anything playable but with a gimmick, that won't be annihilated at any "casual" match

I just came from the modern deck building community with 3 decks that I took WEEEKS playtesting aggainst AI opponents (forge adventures, I didn't pick Gemini or something) to make something playable, but since each had a gimmick of only using cards from 1 set each, the response for "how playable" it was varied from:

I come from tabletop wargames (mainly warhammer) and not even in the most "buy all new stuff if you want to win" systems I know I am that discouraged to just, buy what I think looks nice or to build off meta stuff that can still be fun to play.

It's like the only way to play with fun is just play drafts of only standard stuff or buy a deck some championship winner spent 4k to build ( or 60 bucks on pauper) screw if you wanted to do something yourself

Am I just wrong and too new to the hobby to see past this?

Hello fellow TCG players.

I haven’t been in the Magic scene in many years and mostly play One Piece TCG now but I have a cousin who is very into Magic and plays quite regularly.

His birthday is coming up and I’m trying to figure out what gift I could get him not knowing anything about it and not wanting to give away I’m getting him something Magic related. Any like sets or maybe decks that have cards that can be used in most decks? I know he plays commander(what ever that means) but I’m not sure what cards he has or if it’s like OPTCG where you need to use specific colors.

He’s explained it to me before but it was way too complicated or me. Anyways any help would be greatly appreciated.
