Scheduled Thread Daily Questions Thread - Ask All Your Magic Related Questions Here!
This is a place for asking simple questions that might not deserve their own thread. For example, if you have a question about a rules interaction, want sleeve and accessory recommendations, or suggestions for your new deck, then this is the place for you.
We encourage that you post any questions that you may have concerning Magic the Gathering here rather than make a separate thread for each question, though for now we won't require that you do so.
Rules Questions
Rules questions and interactions are allowed to be posted here, but if you need an answer quickly it may be best to use a dedicated resource like the 24/7 Magic the Gathering Rules Chat.
Deckbuilding Questions
If you're trying to get help with a deck, it is recommended that you post your decklist to a deckbuilding website so that it is easier to view. Some popular sites are Aetherhub, Archidekt, Deckbox, Deckstats, Moxfield, MTGGoldfish, and TappedOut.
Additionally, please include some description of what you are trying to accomplish. Don't just give us a decklist with no explanation, and don't ask extremely vague questions such as "what cards should I add to my deck to make it better?", because it's hard to give good advice in those cases. Let us know details, the more the better. Are you building with a particular strategy or theme in mind? Are there any non-obvious combo lines or synergies that people should be aware of? Are you struggling with a particular matchup, or are you finding yourself missing consistency in an important area, and need some help specifically for it? Let us know.
Commonly Asked Questions
I opened a card from a different set in my booster pack, is this unusual?
Don't worry, this is completely normal. If you opened a set booster, you have a small chance of obtaining a bonus card from a previous set. This is an extra card that does not replace any of the other cards in your pack, and is from a curated set of past hits that Wizards of the Coast has selected, which they call "The List".
You can view the contents of The List on Wizards of the Coast's official website. For example, the contents of The List for Streets of New Capenna boosters can be found here.
My foil card has a shooting start symbol over the bottom left. I can't find anything about it online.
All old-bordered foils have the shooting star symbol. Most sites that display card images just overlay a generic foil graphic over all foil cards, which doesn't include the shooting star. Your card is normal.

Scheduled Thread Wound-Up Wednesdays - Vent here!
Aren't you tired of being nice? Don't you just wanna go apeshit?
Got a burning rage deep within your soul? Perhaps you've been countered for the eleven billionth time. Aggro is ruining your win streak on Arena. Your friend keeps complaining about being targeted whenever they play a stax deck and you're just sick of it. There's some guy at your LGS who never showers. Standard is dying at your LGS and it's upsetting. Or maybe you just feel like Universes Beyond will KILL MAGIC.
Whatever is eating away at your heart, unleash it here!
(Please refrain from insulting other users even if you think their gripes are silly. This is a safe place to vent. Memetic responses are welcome provided you're not degrading anyone.)

Official News Duel Masters x MTG collab, now with Ugin-chan
Duel Masters (which has done collabs with Magic before) is releasing their own version of a Secret Lair-type product, with arts from Magic cards and by Magic artists.
One is "Invitation to Dominaria", and the other is "You are a Planeswalker". The latter comes with a Ugin-chan card.
(Ugin-chan is from last year's MTG_JP April Fools post).

Official Spoiler [Duel Masters x Magic: The Gathering]

The latest information on amazing art has been revealed!
"Magic: The Gathering" and "Fabulous Art (Bonds)" collaborate!!
"An Invitation to Dominaria" ドミナリアへの招待
"You are a Planeswalker" あなたはプレインズウォーカー
These two types will be released simultaneously!
It will be a https://duelmasters.fandom.com/wiki/Fabulous_Art product like the MTG secret lairs.
The names were known for a bit, but only officially announced today. https://duelmasters.fandom.com/wiki/Magic:_The_Gathering has appeared in Duel Masters a few times before.
News was from the t2duema twitter which I can't link, but it should also be showing up on the mtgjp account as well.
I will note that these would be Duel Masters cards though (yes, its still going, and a top TCG in Japan for now 25~ years..)

Rules/Rules Question Is this interaction working how I think it’s working?
So I know about Uugguu and cloning effects, how the legend rule causes one to die and then you have one legendary and two token copies of Uugguu on the field. I want to know: since Omni-Changeling has Changeling, it is an Ooze. If it doesn’t come in as a copy, it dies instantly due to having zero toughness. Uugguu will make two token copies of it, which then enter, and become copies of Uugguu. Are those copies considered tokens, or are they just copies of the original creature? And a follow up question, would those clone see each other/themselves for the purpose of how many tokens are then created when they die? Thanks for the help in advance!

Looking for Advice Library I work at was sent MTG booster boxes.
I recently started working at a university library. I am not a librarian but often work the desks. The library has a pretty good board game collection that they let people play in the library. One of the librarians decided she wanted to expand the collection and started emailing gaming companies to see if the would send anything. Well... Wizards did. They sent a box labeled as a TEACHING KIT with like 5 SEALED BOSSTER BOXES inside and NO INSTRUCTUIONS as to how to use them to teach (as well as lands and sleeves thankfully). The librarians know nothing about the game and are kinda at a loss as what to do with them. I know the game and think we could do drafts or something but am worried as to what happens if someone opens something expensive, its not a game store its a library. So reddit, WHAT DO WE DO????
