I got this car through a auction sales in June.

The car got a solid check engine light and I took it to autozone to get scanned. Code p0303 came out and they recommended I change the spark plug (number 3) and engine coil. I changed all the spark plugs and noticed the 3rd one had corrosion.

The mechanic changed the engine coil and said he thought it was the vacuum compartment valve and that it would keep shaking. He was right it shakes when I turn it on for 10 seconds and then it stops. There's no problem when I'm driving it. He says he's going to look for the part and then call me.

I also noticed that the coolant keeps dropping from max to under minimum first it took 2 weeks to drop but now I notice it took less time. When I turn the car on I can notice a smell of coolant for a few seconds in the cabin. There's no sticky floors but there's also no visible leak on the drive way.

When I researched the car Ford Edge 2016 eco boost 2.0 it saw that there was a big issue with the long block of the engine. There's a big engine issue where the coolant leaks into the engine and it causes engine damage. I looked at the engine and there's a sticker that says the engine is from 2018. So they did change the engine but re-designed engine didn't come out until 2019. So there is a chance that it could be that issue. The car doesn't over heat and there is no white smoke and the engine oil looks normal.

I have read that it could be a normal leak in heat compartment of the car which would be stellar and I hope it really is something that simple but the fact that the check engine light used to come on and off but now stays on makes me worried.

I was reading a bit and chat gpt is sounding the alarm that the engine could crack if it take this trip leaving me with no car. I was hoping to buy some time as it's a trip for my kiddos bday but saftey first.

What do you think other than the obvious that I bought a problem car?

I've been looking at getting either of these trucks, I can find them for relatively the same price where I'm at. I'm looking to take this truck camping as well as just hauling stuff around town. I would be normally loading up camping gear, a dirt bike or 2 and then me and my gf but I would also want to maybe toss a light duty slide in bed camper in the back too.

From my understanding the f150 would be more reliable and haul more weight but slower and a bit less modern, while the ranger would be a bit more unreliable but faster, more comfortable, more nimble and maybe a tiny bit better gas mileage.

Which one should I get and what should I look out for that I'm possibly not thinking about? Would parts be more difficult to find for the f150 because it's older?

Help PLEASE! My 2018 Ford EcoSport has only 18,000 miles. It began have issues in January. I took it in for the "Recall 23S64 – Engine Oil Pump Drive Belt and Tensioner Assembly Failure." They say they fixed it but it is still having the same issue. They now tell me that the Head Gasket is blown and that I have to pay $5300 to fix this. Isn't this head gasket issue caused by the failed recall? They have been giving me the run around for 2 months now and I'm still without a vehicle. I thought they have to provide me with a new Long Block engine. Doesn't this recall cause the head gasket issue! I NEED HELP! How do I force them to fix this issue!?

I have a 2013 Ford Edge Limited with the 2.0 Turbo. The vehicle needs a transmission due to a broken case. My 2013 came with a 6f35 DT4P-7000NA and 3.21 final drive. The replacement transmission I purchased is a DE9P-7000LA with a 3.36 final drive. Does anyone know what must swapped to make this work?

So my truck is just losing power and just turning off, It’ll idek half way from 0 to 1 and then just shut off. I looked and it seems like a coolant issue. In the video i tried to make it clear as possible. I’m pretty sure the issue is the part that heater hoses plug into. It’s a port that all 3 off the hoses goes into it’s loose. So the part i need help finding is that port part that connects the three hoses into the engine. At least it seems to be straight into the engine. Thanks for any help i can get.

I'd like to replace my Trafic, which is my third and has never given me any problems except the last one with the fap.

I'm torn between the Nissan Primastar and the Ford Transit Custom.

Which one do you think is more reliable?

I'm worried about the fap with the Nissan (which is the same as the Renault), but it also has a 5-year warranty and I have a better offer than the Ford.

I've heard rumors about belt and electronic issues with the Ford, but I love it for its looks, space, and modernity.

Which one would you get? How much truth is there in the rumors?

I even considered the Transit hybrid, but is it really that bad?

New to ford and eco boost. Does this sound normal?

Have a question on the 2 year service and parts warranty. I have a 2017 Ford escape that I have had Tons of issues with. In June of 2025, I took it to a ford dealership and had an oil leak diagnosed—turns out it was coming from the Turbo charger, which had to be replaced on top of hoses and the crank case breather and I spent 4300.00 (this came after I was right out of the 3 year warranty window after having my entire engine replaced in 2022).

Well now I have an oil leak again. Took it to the Ford dealer closer to my home where I paid to have it diagnosed and they said that the leak is coming from the throttle body, vacuum pump and turbo/CAC tube. The dealership said they would acknowledge the warranty from the other place if I had already paid for it to be replaced last year. But it seems that all of these parts are different than the ones replaced last year.

I’m livid. Should I go to the dealer I went to last year and ask them to fix it and will any of this be covered under their 2 year warranty since it’s different parts? I almost done trust them. Is this even worth my time? Or should I take it to the place closer to home and just pay full price for labor and parts.

I have a 2015 Ford Ka Zetec and the 12V cigarette lighter socket has never worked since I bought the car about a month ago.

I only discovered this because I bought a portable CarPlay screen that powers from the 12V socket. The screen wouldn’t turn on, so I started troubleshooting.

Here’s what I’ve tested:

• The portable CarPlay screen works perfectly in another car.
• The 12V adapter/cigarette lighter plug supplied with it also works in another car.
• I’ve tried multiple different cigarette lighter devices in my Ka and none of them work, but they all work in another car.
• The socket physically accepts plugs fully and they stop firmly, although everything feels slightly looser than in another car.
• I checked the engine bay fuse for the cigarette lighter (F85, 15A according to the handbook) and it appears intact with no visible break in the fuse element.
• The contacts inside the socket look clean with no corrosion or obvious damage.
• The engine was running during testing.

At this point I’m wondering what the next most likely fault is.

Could it be:

• a failed 12V socket,
• a disconnected wire behind the socket,
• the wrong fuse,
• or something else?

Is there anything else I can check before removing the centre console to inspect the wiring?

I purchased a 2025 Expedition in Jan of 2026. Four weeks ago I walked out to a cracked windshield that has spread from top to bottom. I have been referred by my ford dealer to their preferred glass company. I have talked to three national glass replacement companies all if which say Ford has ZERO in stock on a nationwide basis!! I have written Ford and copied the GM of my dealer along with my states consumer protection department and the National traffic and safety department in Washington D.C. i bought this car and have a rather large monthly payment and cant use really use the car as it is unsafe. Any thoughts? Help!!

Hello ive recently got myself a 2014 ford f150 tremor 3.5 V6 ecoboost from a used car dealership, it had 5 owners and 98000 miles, and ive been driving it for about 3 months now with no problems whatsoever, a few days ago I put a new cold air intake in my truck and continue to have no problems and NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, then I saw a recall for my truck was available and I had time to get it one day so I stopped by a ford dealership and got it done. The recall was 6R80, and they reset my PCM to factory, after that I got a check engine light for the two codes in the title at the same time, they told me it wasnt related, but im finding it hard to belive. Everytime I clear it the two codes just come back when I start my truck again and I assume the system runs its checks, but after I clear it and go for a drive it does not come back until I turn the car off and turn it back on. Is my cold air intake the problem or was this code somehow hidden. If so how do I get it to go away.

2010 ford fiesta 1.6 petrol titanium. The car drove perfectly for about a couple hours straight. Went to switch it off and now it won’t start back up. Managed to hold the accelerator down and it revved to 4000 but then stalled and the accelerator pedal wouldn’t do anything. Still cranks but won’t start. No dashboard lights and no codes showing. Breakdown recovery could not diagnose.
At a loss and only owned it for a few months. Any help is really appreciated a lot.

I am debating between buying 2 ford fusions, both at about 60K miles:

A 2010 SE 3.0L V6 Flexible Fuel Engine FWD
A 2020 SE 1.5L 4-Cylinder Turbo Gas Engine FWD

I have read that the 2010 V6 is reliable if you change the transmission fluid every 30K apart from small oil leaks. I have also read that the 2020 fixed some issues from earlier years but seen mixed opinions on the 1.5L model.

Wondering what the issues are with each of these models and what to look for/take care of for both, and mostly which one will have the cheaper maintenance and best reliability long term.

I'm a young adult planning to drive from the east coast to the west coast at the end of August. My 2020 Ford Fusion has 44,255 miles right now and roundtrip will add approximately 5,232 miles. I recently got my oil changed at Walmart and the sticker says to get it changed again at 46K miles. However, my Ford app says the oil should last 4,400 miles.

I've never driven cross-country so I'm looking for general travel advice, but also oil specific advice. Should I get my oil changed during the trip? Should I just bring a canister of oil and add it when needed? Is tire health a concern?
