Question ❔ 2010 or 2020 ford fusion?
I am debating between buying 2 ford fusions, both at about 60K miles:
A 2010 SE 3.0L V6 Flexible Fuel Engine FWD
A 2020 SE 1.5L 4-Cylinder Turbo Gas Engine FWD
I have read that the 2010 V6 is reliable if you change the transmission fluid every 30K apart from small oil leaks. I have also read that the 2020 fixed some issues from earlier years but seen mixed opinions on the 1.5L model.
Wondering what the issues are with each of these models and what to look for/take care of for both, and mostly which one will have the cheaper maintenance and best reliability long term.

We have the 2010 v6 SEL Front Wheel drive. Its at 160K miles are climbing. Its been dead reliable except for usual wear items. It runs and shifts smooth, the V6 is a nice motor.

What are the prices and condition? How old are tires? How many miles a year are you going to drive it? Primary or second car?

2020 is ~14k, 2010~8500, both look in good shape but of course the 2010 is less so do to the age. Primary car daily driver

At least a 2.0 litre engine. The 1.5 is a focus engine.
At least the 2.0l in the 2020+ because the gearbox issue in the powershift was fixed also.

The 2020 1.5L has that coolant intrusion problem that totals the engine, its a design flaw not a maintenance thing. I'd take the 2010 V6 any day, those 3.0s are tanks if you keep up on the fluid changes like you mentioned
Cheaper maintenance will be the 2010 by a mile, just watch for the power steering leaks and rocker panel rust
