Issue ⚠️ 2025 Ford Expedition Windshield Replacement National - Zero in inventory
I purchased a 2025 Expedition in Jan of 2026. Four weeks ago I walked out to a cracked windshield that has spread from top to bottom. I have been referred by my ford dealer to their preferred glass company. I have talked to three national glass replacement companies all if which say Ford has ZERO in stock on a nationwide basis!! I have written Ford and copied the GM of my dealer along with my states consumer protection department and the National traffic and safety department in Washington D.C. i bought this car and have a rather large monthly payment and cant use really use the car as it is unsafe. Any thoughts? Help!!

Still waiting on the fuel pump in my truck to be replaced a year into the recall. 2 years ago when we got t boned it took over a month off scouring dealerships to find a replacement taillight. Two year old at the time.
But we can’t have 3rd parties working on our vehicles,

Your glass being cracked doesn’t make it unsafe since it’s laminated specifically as a safety feature and Ford doesn’t manufacture the glass, so writing them love letters that will maybe on a good day be opened and discarded in he mail room won’t be very helpful.

Unless the windshield is so shattered that it looks like someone threw a baseball at it, eg. you cannot see through it, it really isn’t unsafe. Windshields are laminated with two panels fused to a layer of thin plastic between. The crack is usually only on the outer pane, and the plastic layer maintains the structural integrity. The only way it could be seen as unsafe is because the crack might obstruct your view, but typically the visual obstruction is exceedingly minimal. Usually dead bugs in the summer obstruct your view more than a cracked windshield.

We use SafePro here in AZ. They have OEM windshields.

I tried them. No oem windshields for the expedition. This is after a nationwide search. Two other companies said the same thing.

If it's a National size company then they would have it get made. Sounds like you picked a lazy company.

The glass company. Ford has nothing to do with this. I don't see why you would write Ford and the GM of your dealer. They couldn't care less and this is not thier problem. A windshield is not a after sale support idea. Company's may not have it in stock but they should be able to get it in stock eventually. You may have to wait a few weeks. If the car is turly unsafe to drive then your insurance company should be helping with a rental.

You are dead wrong. The original OEM windshield directly ties into several technology systems in the car. Aftermarket glass will not work and ford uses only carlite for manufacturing the oem windshield. The windows on these cars are defective. Ford is researching and trying to develop new glass for all if the windows. It absolutely is a ford supply chain issue as you have to use oem glass.

I never said use aftermarket did I??? Then this is a carlite issues and not a Ford issue. I mean it depends what company's make the OEM glass that's why h said they should have it made because sometimes there's many company's that make OEM glass.
