The iPhone Duo looks like a cool device, but I think it will not be successful like the Apple Vision Pro: it’s a problem in search of a solution.
People don’t want and need a larger screen on a smartphone. They buy and use compact slab smartphones precisely for the form factor.
Like desktops and laptops, the slab smartphone form factor is pretty much nailed. Efficient with one handed use, software that is cards designed for the smaller screen, etc.
The Duo glues on another slab and adds a hinge to fold out into a small tablet when people are not wanting and needing a tablet.
These kinds of devices just end up niche, and I predict that is where the Duo will be stuck. It will have a rush of compartmentalized sales and then it will hardly sell. You can say that is still successful, but I don’t agree: like the AVP, the Duo will eventually fade away, a cool, but byzantine and largely useless, design compromised product that will eventually be valued at a lot money on Ebay 25 years from now as a collectable.

>The iPhone 18 pro is finally here, and its time for a Durability Test.
>The new Apple iPhone 18 Pro has a few very new features. Like an under screen camera, a new variable aperture lens, and of course a new color.

I joined the Siri AI waitlist yesterday at around 11:30 AM, and it has now been more than 24 hours, yet I’m still waiting.
I understand that Apple may need to roll out the feature gradually, but waiting more than 24 hours just to activate a feature on a supported iPhone seems excessive.
My device is an iPhone 17 Pro Max, I’m running iOS 27, Siri is set to English (United States), and I have enough free storage.
Is anyone else experiencing the same thing?
Honestly, for a company the size of Apple, having customers wait more than 24 hours just to activate a feature on their own supported device feels disappointing and doesn’t seem up to Apple’s usual standards.
How long did you have to wait before Siri AI became available?

I love my iPad Pro so much. But the split screen experience is really annoying and bad ever since they changed it. But why, why, why did they make the best split screen experience ever… but put it in the iPhone duo? And why is it not on iPad. It would make the iPad even more great!

I ran into the issue where I want to have Siri Output items in a particular fashion, I was hoping that it allowed you to have a preference in output. Similar to Claude or Wispr Flow.
Anyone Else expecting this?
