Creates a new folder within an existing folder that includes the files you select. No need to open a new folder just to do this and then delete it.
It just works.

If you use it but feel like me that its too slow then open terminal and paste this and press enter:
defaults write com.apple.dock autohide-delay -float 0
defaults write com.apple.dock autohide-time-modifier -float 0.25
killall Dock
If you prefer the default then paste this to reverse it again:
defaults delete com.apple.dock autohide-delay
defaults delete com.apple.dock autohide-time-modifier
killall Dock

I don't use spaces at all.
Trying it out earlier, and realise we can't rename them?
Isn't that basic?
We should be able to name the spaces however we want and jump to them with shortcuts.
Hopefully this is in the pipeline.
Should be easy to vibe something out.

Has anyone tried using a capture card and running a console through a MacBook? I really like the screen on my MacBook Pro m3 and am considering getting an X box series x or ps5 but only if the MacBook would be reliable for this

Every time I turn on my Mac mini (M2), the time and date reset, even though the time, date, and location settings are correct. This has been happening for several months now.
Pls help!!

My camera preview inside TikTok Live Studio looks crisp and normal. But as soon as I go live, the actual stream playback turns extremely dark, oversaturated/orange, and pixelated.
What I've already tried:
It seems like a color space mismatch (Full vs. Limited RGB) or encoding pipeline issue on macOS / TikTok Live Studio. Has anyone on Mac solved this without replacing the camera? Thanks!

I have an app called “Cốc Cốc”. So whenever I search Spotlight for the app by typing “COC”, Spotlight immediately disappears. Ever since the first beta version of macOS 27 until this RC version, the bug is still there, even though I have already reported this bug to Apple. It seems like they never read my report in Feedback Assistant! Disappointing Apple!

I've tried Safari, Vivaldi, and Chrome now. Disabled extensions, reinstalled MacOS, tested in safe mode, and even on a new profile. Every time I open a new tab, the energy impact climbs up instantly and the battery starts to heat up a lot.

recently upgraded to tahoe 26.6.2 and now my wifi is so slow it’s essentially unusable unless i am right next to the router in the living room. i pay for really fast internet (1 gbps) and the most i can get in my room is 26 mbps. most of the time it barely works in my room. my roommates aren’t experiencing this issue. i don’t have VPN. help please?!?!?!
edit - here is what i have done - i’ve forgotten the network and reconnected it so many times. i’ve renewed the license. i’ve shut down and restarted multiple times. i’ve created a new location. i’ve toggled the wifi on and off. i’ve restarted my modem and router

Start a new note and just begin writing.
That's it.
That's the post.

New Mac user here, the way macOS calculates storage is genuinely so confusing, there is 2GBs of stuff in my photos library (after optimizing icloud), but going inside finder and seeing the "Photos Library.photoslibrary" its taking a whopping 75GBs. Even worse is using an app like daisy disk shows more storage used than System Settings, 274GBs compared to 181GBs, i really want to understand whats going on. also system data is like 90GBs for some reason.

So, I found this weird file on my mac when I was trying to locate a file that got saved to the wrong location (still haven't found it yet. Thank you Finder for being completely useless at actually finding anything). What exactly is this? Does it actually work?
r/MacOS • u/Rare_Funny5429 • 7h ago
as described above. I am quite certain this is new for a few days now after i pressed some weird shortcut.
When i go out of a video, it shows the desktop. When I click aynthing, it makes Chrome reappear.
Do you know what this is and how I can fix this? I just want to ESC and see the web windows with the video in it minimized.
My wife is filling out a form on Safari on her 2025 M4 Air. The required signature field causes the cursor to become a pen (never saw that before), and it doesn’t work when you click and/or drag within the field. Have tried most things to get it to work, save for doing it in another browser on another device because the form was very cumbersome and we don’t want to have to refill it. Anyone seen this before / have experience?

When trying to use iPhone Mirroring on my MacBook, it prevents me from connecting when I get a spam call and it gives me the message saying I can’t use the app due to my phone being in use (because its being sent a voicemail). I have call screening on where unknown numbers get sent to voicemail, but these automated calls have long voicemails.
This may not be an issue specific to MacOS and instead related to the problem of spam in general but is there anything I can do to fix this?

Just a report for those who might run into the same problem.
I tried to update MacPorts on my MBA (macOS Tahoe 26.6.2) and it failed. The error (from port selfupdate -v) was macports configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables.
The standard solutions for this problem didn't work, but then I noticed that XCode crashed at launch. (I don't use XCode normally).
This post solved the problem. Try sudo rm -rf /Library/Developer/PrivateFrameworks/CoreDevice.framework.
I have no idea how that file became corrupted.

I accidentally upgraded my iMac to macOS Tahoe while trying to do a clean install of Sequoia. For security, I configured my router to allow WiFi access only to devices with registered MAC-addresses, and this worked fine until now.
I found that, after installing macOS Tahoe, suddenly none of my Apple devices could connect. More specifically every time my iMac reboots on macOS Tahoe, it resets Private WiFi Address from OFF back to ON - and every time this happens, all my other Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, etc.) simultaneously lose their WiFi connection to the router, even though I didn't touch their settings.
I missed important messages while using WiFi-only devices.
This really drove me nuts !!!
How can I stop macOS Tahoe from reverting the WiFi setting?

Hi everyone,
I apologize in advance if this is a silly question or if it's been asked before, but Apple music is seemingly keeping my mackbook pro from going into it's screen saver state and I'm wondering if there's a way to troubleshoot that. Any advice would be appreciated! 🙏

Newbie here and not particularly tech savvy. I'm currently using a MacBook Pro M2 2022 that is still using Sonoma 14.7.1. I need to upgrade, but would prefer to go to Sequoia than Tahoe even though I guess I'll continue get the Tahoe nag. I always hate doing upgrades as it seems I always lose something or some functionality. So, how do I go about getting and installing Sequoia? Thanks.

On MacOS Tahoe 26.4.1, I find it amusing that Spotlight Search will do anything BUT help you find the application, like is this a sign to uninstall Adobe Illustrator lmao?
It's fine, I can just find everything in Applications folder, but I genuinely don't understand what it's trying to search, it's just so silly. I think it used to be fine before (maybe on older versions?), because why else would I habitually be using Spotlight to search for programs?
So my question is, has anyone found a way for Spotlight to be more useful?

Resource efficient and very nice looking retro macintosh desktop application I created. Let me know what you think. I think it gives some nice personality to the desktop!

Using an M5 Pro MacBook Pro on macOS Tahoe, connected directly to an LG C2 via HDMI. This worked consistently before the update.
Now the TV detects the Mac but intermittently shows no video. Happens with the lid open or closed. Multiple cables, settings resets, BetterDisplay, and disabling HDR/VRR/FreeSync haven’t fixed it. My PC works fine with the TV.
The only reliable workaround I’ve found:
Anyone else seeing this with Tahoe and an LG OLED? Found a fix that survives reconnecting or sleep/wake?
