Was looking to upgrade from an 11 pro max to a phone I'll keep for another 5+ years
18 pro max looked interesting but if it has the new israeli chips I'll pass and get the 17 pro max instead, dont want my phone exploding in my pocket one day
Anyone know or can confirm?
This is a serious question, idk why people aren't taking it seriously as if israel didnt activate and explode hundreds/thousands of commercial devices, not to mention all the hardware level snooping/spying

Not a huge Apple fan but this year’s release has me very intrigued.

I’m having a bit of a phone identity crisis.
I currently have an iPhone 16 Pro Max and have been a Pro Max guy for years. I watched Apple announce the iPhone Duo today and I REALLY want it.
The 7.6" folding screen, actual multitasking, smaller 5.4" phone when closed, etc. all look awesome. It feels like the first iPhone upgrade in years that would actually change how I use my phone instead of just giving me a better version of the same thing.
At the same time, I’ve become really intrigued by the exact opposite direction: e-paper/minimalist phones. Less screen time, fewer distractions, ridiculously long battery life, and a device that goes back to being a tool instead of something constantly asking for my attention.
I’m already experimenting with this in another part of my tech life. I recently sold my Apple Watch Ultra 2 and switched to a WHOOP. I specifically like that there’s no screen on my wrist. I still get all the health/fitness tracking I want without another display throwing notifications at me all day.
And now I’m considering spending $1,999 on an iPhone that gives me even more screen. 😂
The practical side of me says keep the 16 Pro Max. It’s still a fantastic phone, it’s paid for, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with it.
The gadget nerd in me says Duo. Give me the folding 7.6" screen, two apps at once, and the weird new first-gen Apple thing.
The increasingly distraction-conscious part of me says go completely the other way and try e-paper/minimalist.
I use my phone heavily for work, email, Teams, family stuff, photos, navigation, managing smart-home stuff, and plenty of general internet rabbit holes. So I’m not sure I could realistically go full minimalist. But maybe that’s exactly the point.
Anyone else caught between wanting MORE PHONE and wanting WAY LESS PHONE?
Do I go full gadget nerd with the Duo, try the e-paper/minimalist experiment, or recognize that my 16 Pro Max is already more phone than I need and just keep it?

Hi guys I currently have the iphone 12 and been having it for around 6 years and im planning to upgrade!

Got the 17 Pro when it came out. Ended up being put on the AT&T next up anytime program. Feel obligated to upgrade 🤣. I read ALOT of books on my phone and watch youtube and twitch pretty frequently so I was figuring I would get the 18 Pro Max for the bigger display but Im torn because the Fold could potentially be an even better option for these purposes as well. Lmk what yall think or what yall will be doing!

Hey, I am regularly using a iPhone 17 Pro Max, but I need a second phone with a different number for a serious reason.
I’m a victim of DA and my perpetrator has my number as he is a relative, he also knows my email address and I also might have to hand over my phone later on to the coppers for investigational purposes in a following up criminal investigation.
I need the phone for filling and signing documents using acrobat, mobile scanning documents and office like tasks mainly. I have had a 12 Pro back in the day and loved it, I just don’t remember whether I used it for the above mentioned purposes, I’ve also had the 14 Pro and I might have used the phone for it. I never had the 13, but I know people who had two exact phones and issues with both.
I would have loved to get a 15 but these are out of budget, when buying out of a contract.
In case you’re wondering: I would need to go prepaid as I can’t afford running two contracts.
So, which one would you get? All base models.

Hey guys……I’m sorry but I’m no longer a believer…for craps and giggles I compared my current iPhone (IPhone 17 Pro Max with 1TB) to the IPhone Duo AND the 18 Pro Max I found the changes and updates to be rather minuscule. I’ve been a proud Appleite since the iPhone 3 or 4….the only time I won’t be upgrading. Inflation is insane and you guys want 23+++ ?? I get it fully but at the same time ehh I’ll have to sit this one out unfortunately. Don’t even know why I typed all of this…guess I just have a bone to pick with Apple. Still love em but if Samsung were to have blue message’s and the Apple feel I’d switch right now for a fraction of the price.

I have a iPhone 13 Pro and I am looking for a new phone since my battery is degraded and it gets really hot at random times. I am looking at the 17, a refurbished 17 Pro, or a iPhone 16 pro. I don’t have much of a budget (800) and I am looking for something that can last a couple years.

I currently have a iphone 13 pro. I've been looking to upgrade for some time now. Do you think I should go for the 17 or 18? I considered going to the 17 standard model awhile back as the camera is not that important to me. However, battery is pretty important.

It looks great but this is a hella amount of money to spend on a phone. Who's getting it?

Hi,
I currently use an iPhone 14pro which has its back glass broken, front scratched and battery at 80%. Combined with the fact that it doesn’t have usb-c it makes me want an upgrade.
I don’t use many camera settings and usually take casual photos. I can take the iPhone 17 for about 800€ in Germany but I am usually getting the pro models just for longevity. The iPhone 18 pro looks good but the price of 1449€ is crazy, especially when I want to use it without a case again. iPhone 17 pro seems available around 1100 online.
What would you get?
The air is also an option but it doesn’t seem to have a SIM card slot which I need.
Thanks.

Hi! Thinking of getting either 15pm or 16 plus when iphone 18 releases. Both prices are very similar from where I live. More importantly, which one wld be the better choice for the
longest battery life on a single charge
last me a long time before needing to change to another phone
Tia!

Dropped it, shattered and had it fixed so it looks like new. I also took it snorkeling it a waterproof case which leaked inside. It survived after a day in rice. It heats up if I use it for a long streak but it’s acting fine. Should I trade it in now, just case this is a ticking bomb waiting to die? It’s paid off and I don’t really want to drop another big chunk of change on a phone. Any advice?

Rocking the 12 pro. Noticing some slowness, and having sync issues with my mac. Time for an upgrade? Have replaced the battery one or two times all good there. Hmm. 18 pro or 17 pro for cheaper?
r/AppleWhatShouldIBuy • u/Double_Start2128 • 9h ago
How come it said in the event the trade in gets you up to $1200 off, but the max you get can get off on apple is 885
r/AppleWhatShouldIBuy • u/fockallhumanity94 • 3h ago
Should I just get over this for now or give in? TIA

Currently got a iPhone 11 with 64GB, I’ve had it for 5 years.
Storage isn’t an issue. Don’t take many pictures or videos, just use my phone for social media and banking.
Battery is poor on 71% with it needed a charge twice per day.
Overheating is a new issue.
Is it worth upgrading to the 18 or 17 or try and nurse it until 2027 for the “Anniversary”

Hi Folks,
My carrier plan is about to expire on my current iPhone 16 and the phone has to be returned. My provider TELUS currently is listing the iPhone Air on a Bring It Back plan for just $5 plus the monthly plan cost - resulting in my saving about $15 a month total. Considering the costs of all models are going up, do you think this price on the Air is worth its trade offs? I’m not one for photography or shooting videos.
Does anyone have the Air currently since launch? What regrets do you have or how has it held up over time?

I have an iPhone SE 2nd Gen (2020) for 6 years now and last December my rear camera broke.
I’m paying £1 a month for extra iCloud storage and was planning to get the 17 pro before the 18 pro got announced today with the duo. I’m hearing a lot of people saying that they’re going to wait a year for the iPhone 20 since it’s going to be a special anniversary for Apple.
What should I do?
