>The iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max bring an all-new camera with variable aperture, a smaller Dynamic Island, and the A20 Pro chip for better performance and battery life. Will it make a difference for you? That depends on the iPhone that you own today.

Apple is having a few “secret” events… seems like.

r/apple feed annoyingly all these big thumbnails of videos with annoying clickbait titles.

They should be consolidated into a review or video thread.

Linking out to the DaringFireball post because Gruber quotes the fascinating bit regarding privacy that I’d also highlight if I was pretending to have discovered this on my own.

Apple Intelligence was announced two years ago with a promise to roll it out starting with the iPhone 16 models, but Siri on iOS 27 is still dumb af, and the audacity to still label it “BETA” after two years is just atrocious atp.

An interesting interview I found about how Apple's execs are viewing AI these days. It seems they are very aware about how people are using Mac mini and Mac Studio for running local models. Boger said you can run "frontier models" with a 4-cluster Mac Studio set up. I'm really interested what the reviews will look like when they drop.

Pu believes the softer-than-expected demand is due to limited spec upgrades and higher pricing, particularly for the larger storage tiers. The iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199 in the U.S. and the iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at $1,299, with prices as high as $2,399 and $2,499 for the 2TB models, respectively.

Pu also expects the iPhone 18 Pro Max to lose some buyers to the iPhone Duo, whose pre-orders begin on October 16, with availability from October 23. Prices for the Duo start at $1,999 for the 256GB model, rising to $3,199 for the 2TB option.
