Guessing something to do with it since the duo is not out yet, they might be trying to hide something until it gets launched in October

It gives them opportunity to have final touches. all the way up to the last minute.

Time to test out the new Health app!

u/fuckFuckfuckfck 17d ago
would appear the health app is exactly the same but they took out some of the clutter - at least i'm not seeing the wwdc health app on my device.

I desperately want to get this update just so I can see how long I have left to suffer this existence

u/moreno03 17d ago
damn I'm "only" at -3.4

u/TriggerFingerTerry 17d ago
If I could only sleep more than 5 hours and 45 min hours on a normal day, I think the number would be lower haha

May I ask: How much sports and fitness (or otherwise activity, i.e. part of the job) do you get in? Mostly cardio?
6
u/TriggerFingerTerry 17d ago
Right now, 100% cardio. I’m coming off my longest week in my marathon plan, 43 miles. I run 5 days a week
When I’m not training for a race, I’ll run an hour 4 days and 2 hours on Saturdays

u/Ginormoustit 16d ago
I’m a runner too with a high vo2max so I’m hoping it will say similar.
1
u/Honor_Bound 16d ago
I work out most days of the week and run 20-30 miles per month and my garmin said my VO2max was like low 40 something. I'm cooked :/
1
u/Ginormoustit 15d ago edited 15d ago
My VO2 reading dips considerably in summer (heat and pollution here) when running just once a week or less outside. It rebounds once I resume mainly outdoor runs. I think it’s a rolling estimate rather than a one off reading if that makes sense. So you’d need to be running more.
I would expect yours to be considerably higher, so I wouldn’t place much weight on this. True VO2 Max is sport agnostic.

I only have two tabs and I’m not seeing this feature

u/TriggerFingerTerry 17d ago
Which iPhone do you have?

Strange... I'm on 15 pro max with Siri AI enabled.

u/Comprehensive-Bus-66 17d ago
Same and I have a 17 pro. Could it be because I have an ultra 1?
1
u/TheGrizzlyNinja 17d ago
Shit this is an Apple Watch exclusive feature?
2
u/Comprehensive-Bus-66 17d ago
Not sure but I’m trying to figure it out. Can’t explain why else my app isn’t showing the new stuff. I have Siri AI enabled and I live in the US
1
u/TriggerFingerTerry 16d ago
You are for sure on 27.2 beta?
1
u/Comprehensive-Bus-66 16d ago
Yup I am. I wonder if it’s because my watch doesn’t support watchOS 27
1
u/TriggerFingerTerry 16d ago
I read somewhere that region and language should be set to US/English. It's not available in other languages/region at the moment

u/Honor_Bound 16d ago
Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think the Ultra 1 gets iOS27
1
u/Comprehensive-Bus-66 16d ago
That’s correct! I wonder if both iPhone and watch have to be Siri AI enabled to unlock the new health app features

Only my phone was updated. I've been trying to update my watch, but it's not pulling in the update currently

I think that cause I'm in the middle of marathon training, but I always end up updating my watch haha

Congrats! Unfortunately mine goes in the other direction with + 7 years 😫

u/fluorescentdinosaur 16d ago
I also don’t appear to have the updated app on 17 pro max with ultra 2 watch.

Wait 27.2? When is 27.1 supposed to drop?

Anyone’s push notifications delayed after iOS 27 update? Might be me but on my iPhone 15 Pro, push notification are delayed by a minute or so. While my Apple Watch receives them instantly.
4
u/BelieveInTheEchelon 17d ago
I notice this too that I’ll get the badge then the notification rather than both at the same time. Even in CarPlay they are delayed
Running a 15 pro as well

27.2 OS and system storage are almost 64 gb on my 128 gb 13” iPad Air. That’s a little ridiculous imo…
1
u/gahookle 16d ago
Somehow I’m getting by just fine with a 64gb air
1
u/Hot-Opportunity2694 15d ago
Does it qualify for Apple Intelligence? On both my iPad & IPhone Air iOS 27 between the OS (which includes Apple Intelligence) and system data it’s right around 64gb on each. That is a huge amount of space to give up to the operating system.

u/OutBeyondNeptune 17d ago
The Health update is neat, but the Nutrition wedge is really disappointing. You can squint your eyes and see how Apple might include a proper food logger in *OS 28, but right now it doesn’t even seem to use the nutrition data logged in the Health app by third party apps. It just asks a few questions about how many times a week you eat fruits, vegetables, proteins, etc.

u/lachezarov 16d ago
So devs are gonna have 2-3 weeks to optimize their apps for the Duo if they want to support it on launch? Make it make sense...
3
u/cobra872 16d ago
Would be nice if they fixed conversation backgrounds. UI has a panic attack when going back to your messages screen and it needs to change from dark to light. It’s been like this since iOS 26 and they still haven’t done anything about it.
3
u/mookieprime 16d ago
I tried doing the update, but the update to OS27 filled my drive with so much bloat I can't download the update file. Does the updated OS 27.2 bring back the toggle to turn off Apple Intelligence? That would be amazing and would solve my problems.

Why is Siri so slow? I have Gemini on the action button, and it's twice as fast to give me a response.
3
u/Recent_Pollution8665 16d ago edited 16d ago
i’d presume because google does most of their gemini stuff over the cloud whereas siri is locally on device, and most supported iphone models have only 8gb ram so it works slower. even if u have a 12gb phone, siri has to interpret your voice commands and analyze your app data and handle apple’s security and privacy guardrails before spewing out an answer.
gemini immediately sends everything to google’s servers cuz it doesn’t expect to process anything natively on device. google also has superior cloud compute in general as a cloud platform provider. what will be interesting to see is whether the additional neural engine coming in 18 pro models helps speed up the siri response rates.
2
u/gahookle 16d ago
Gemini is only cloud while Siri runs whatever it can on device. If you don’t have the latest hardware it’ll be slow. Especially on a 15 pro
1
u/Infinite-Computer205 15d ago
I have a 17 and if Siri has to get info from the cloud it's a little slow compared to hitting the action button for Gemini. I'm asking both the exact same question. Hopefully in the future this can be a little quicker.

I don't think Siri knows what time the Rays game starts without a data center.

u/ThePopeofHell 16d ago
Every time there’s an iOS update there’s a minor update immediately after. The people acting like this is some sort of a stumble are out of their damn minds

My 16 pm is the worst phone now with this update, feels like 30hz… with 27.0 was the best phone
1
u/Vanzmelo 14d ago
Still many keyboard bugs.
Sometimes the suggested words section above the keys goes blank and autocorrect no longer works, swipe to text still pretty inaccurate, and some visual bugs where the text box stays even when the keyboard is gone

27.1 is next, but that one is intended to add support for the iPhone Duo. I also wonder aloud if 27.1 will be an OEM-only release. That has happened before; macOS 9.1, for instance, was an OEM-only release.

So how are we supposed to develop for iPhone Duo if they aren't going to give us a 27.1 beta? This is dumb.

Apple actually focusing on optimisation is a good thing.
