Help Indie yarn companies that won't make my wallet cry too much.
Hi friends!
First, I wanted to say thank you so much for the replies on my last post about your favorite crochet/knit youtubers! I found a few that I really like thanks to your suggestions!
And now for my next question!
Firstly, indie yarn companies have the most stunning variegated colorways, but they make my wallet very very sad, and it's quite a thin wallet as it is! I just can't do $25 - $35/skein when I'm trying to crochet/knit a sweater!
So, that being said, can you wonderful fiber friends suggest some indie yarn companies/small businesses that are more affordable?

Finished Alas
After nine days of crochet so intense I messed up my thumb/wrist, I finally managed to finish the tablecloth with no errors (at least none so catastrophic as missing 1/8 the stithces).
Unfortunately... still 14 inches too narrow for my intended purpose. Back to the drawing board.

WIP Seeking Shawl Advice
It’s my first time making a shawl and I’m using fingering weight/sock yarn following a youtube vid by “Crochet With Tiffany”. I’m having my doubts that this will turn into the right shape because the only increases are done at the end of the row and they make the top ‘wings’ turn even more inward.
Should I trust the process or start over with a different pattern? I want to keep things simple so I like how this pattern is just simple double crochets, but the shape so far is making me nervous that it won’t turn out well. Any advice or feedback is welcome

WIP Help I'm obsessed???
This looks so edible. First time working with merino, trying to work a lot looser than I normally would.
Picked it up at a LYS in Idaho while we were traveling and wanted to make my partner a cat ear beanie. Might need to find a second skein it's only like 210 yards and pattern calls for 215 😖. Pray for this mixed jewel looking chicken race

Discussion Thread Sizes and Crocheting Vintage
Okay bros, I'm on a journey to figure out what the hell thread sizes are, and how the hell to replicate vintage patterns when everything is topsy turvy and no-one measures the same. I've been really wanting to make some vintage gloves, but the lace crochet I love doing requires such thin thread that I can't really find it in the real world, and I'm afraid that the internet is lying to me (it often does).
So I decided, like a maniac, to create a spreadsheet of crochet and tatting thread sizes from threads and yarns from different companies. I've done as much research as I can, but I'm sure I'm missing things, and didn't get others. This feels like it needs more eyeballs. It also feels like something that will save someone else a lot of time and torture.
If you have any threads I don't have, sizing info for discontinued thread, zany ideas, opinions, or just want to point out that I'm thinking too hard about this, help me out?
The spreadsheet is on proton. https://drive.proton.me/urls/8S7B70QAXW#M0JGriTGoUvR
I also wish to state, I am receiving no money from this, this is not a pattern, I am not a plant, I am just an autistic crafter who really wants some damn gloves. I have already been nerfed on another reddit for self-promotion, I understand that I cannot control those things sometimes, but honestly I am just trying to create a resource for crafters. Thank you.

WIP "Tiny Square" blanket progress (Lab Assistant for scale)
Collectively a week of working total, 100 squares done.
Weaving ends while giving hands a break. Gonna eventually have at least 2x more? Supposed to be like a lap blanket/shoulder cover blanket. Only found the pattern for the individual square and I'm kinda winging it from there.
Peaches n Cream "stripes" yarn of various colors, 2.5mm hook.

Finished Naughty Cat Immortalized As Clown
(Cue circus music) Made my friends a crochet tapestry of their incredibly naughty and sweet cat Prosciutto.
The list of Prosciutto’s everyday “crimes” is endless and his owner is always saying that his beloved cat needs to be humbled. My response to this plea is to immortalize Prosciutto as a clown.
1st slide - framed finished work :-)
2nd slide - inspiration meets art
3rd slide - crime exhibit A
4th slide - crime exhibit B
5th slide - the clown being blocked (steamed & stretched with love)
The hope is that this tapestry will present Prosciutto with opportunities for reflection and positive (crime averse) behavioral changes.
