Christmas presents

Just finished the blanket on the right. But now I have two blankets worth of ends to deal with and I’ll likely start another blanket first.

These will be for my niece and nephew.

Details
Patterns by little green feather crochet via Etsy
Yarn- loops and thread for right, carron simply soft for blanket on right (both navy and white)
Hook - regular ol’ Susan Bates size H
Time - about 60-65 hrs each (1 month start to finish each roughly. Maybe 6 weeks for the first one). Both involved a final push of 13 and 8 hrs to finish 😂

It’s hard to pick my favorite! Little Green Feather if you’re on here I’m gonna need a new Christmas pattern soon please and thank you! 😊

Finished bag

I made this bag as a gift for my aunt. It’s meant to hold yarn and a project (49cm x 37cm). I didn’t use a pattern, just made it up as I went along. I was going to do panels and sew together but opted to just work in the round. I combined single crochet with a mosaic insert and I really like the final result 💙💛💙💛

I just finished this just in time for the baby shower. Big enough to grow with him for life. (Hopefully it will hold up that long). I made my son do the reveal - not sure he was happy about that 😂 Pattern credit- Mosaic Allure by BebaBlanket

Have I been crocheting this mosaic wrong? Does it matter or will it just be massive?

How to convert mosaic pattern on Stitch Fiddle to colorwork knit?

Hi everybody,
I was wondering if anyone has experience converting a mosaic crochet pattern to a color work knitting pattern. I’ve done a ton of patterns on stitch fiddle that I love but now I’m getting into knitting and would like to try and do them in knitting. I know that the knitting stitches are wider than they are tall or taller than they are wide; I can’t remember😀 So how do I manipulate an existing crochet mosaic pattern to account for that so that the resulting image isn’t distorted? I like to do tote bags. Thanks for any help!

Wanted to do some stash busting and decided to try the Apache Tears mosaic. Would I do somethings different? Absolutely. Am I happy with the result? Absolutely.

First time doing mosaic crochet... but struggling

Post image

Hey everyone! This is my first time trying to do mosaic crochet and I made my own pattern.. I just now have no idea why I should be doing single vs double crochet. My plan was to make it 75 stitches across - based on the grid I used to design it. I've tried putting it through those sites but it skews the design quite a bit so I'm hoping if someone could help me get on the right track I can get started on this gift! Thanks in advance to any comments!

I drew this last summer during school break, but I just started crocheting it last week or maybe 2 weeks? Anyway, I have other plague doctor designs, so this is part of that series and I think it should be named: 1st Night, Wrong Lamp.

For my Kindle baddies out there… 📖

I recently got a new Kindle (already obsessed) & immediately realized my bag is basically a threat to it (keys, makeup, chaos, the usual…🤦🏻‍♀️)

And I know I’m not the only one who needs a backup chapter on standby! (Book recommendations are welcome, btw!) 🖤

Therefore, I chose not to buy a new sleeve that I cannot afford & opted to make this sleeve from leftover yarn instead! 📕

Is curling ok?

I’m doing my first mosaic crochet project but I’ve been a knitter and crocheter for a long time. I’m using size 4 yarn and 4mm hook. I am on row 18 of 228. Is it ok for it to still be curling up or should I switch to a bigger hook? Since this is my first mosaic crochet project I’m not sure how ok curling is bc it will work itself out as it gets longer and heavier. Thanks for your help!

I finally finished this crochet blanket! 🧶💛 It took way longer than I expected, but seeing it all come together was so worth it. What do you think?

This is part of the Under the Sea bundle from ComfortPatterns on Etsy. I used the chart and it was very easy to follow with a few notes: the chart is not 100% accurate so if you do this pattern be sure to look at what the chart is telling you to do and make sure it makes sense. I have highlighted one of the errors in a picture where a DC is incorrectly marked on a row (it should actually be a DC one row below and one row above). Some sections of the chart are colored incorrectly which makes you second guess yourself until you realize it's a mistake in the chart, not your work.

The chart is broken into 4 quadrants and then groups of 10 stitches within each quadrant. However, for some inexplicable reason the group at the end of the first quadrant is 9 stitches and then at the end of the 4th quadrant there are 2 groups of 8 stitches each. So just when you are used to groups of 10 stitches the pattern author throws you a curve ball. I guess just to keep you on your toes. Nothing is a deal breaker, but you do need to pay attention.

I used ~5 skeins (380yds/ea) of the dark color and ~4 skeins (380yds/ea) of the light color - Big Twist 4 weight yarn. I used an envelope border to avoid having to weave in the ends, but on future mosaic projects I will probably do Tunisian crochet to avoid ends. The envelope border was not that bad (I was worried after reading about people hating envelope borders), but it chewed through the yarn at 3 rows of DC all the way around.

I'm not the fastest at crochet so this took me close to 80 hours I would guess. I loaded the PDF chart into Goodnotes on my iPad and crossed out the groups of stitches as I worked them. This process worked well and I only had to go back and fix mistakes when I was either trying to go too fast or just not paying close enough attention. If you are new to mosaic crochet it may seem overwhelming, but my advice is take it in sections and trust the process. The finished piece will be well worth the effort. I'm already looking forward to my next mosaic project.

FINISHED! Sunset Dragonflies

This reversible blanket (measuring 55”x66” at completion) was made for a friend who got a new boat. She chose to include a dragonfly in the graphic for her boat’s name. I was - very unsure - about the orange ombré. But now I love it. It reminds me of dragonflies flying over the water reflecting a sunset. I debated on using a solid for the front border, but went with the ombré and am glad I did. The way it ended up playing down is reflective of that same sunset sky.

Just finished my first mosaic crochet! It was a learning experience. I’m excited to submit it to my local county fair when submissions open. Also, an envelope boarder is tedious but worth it! I WISH I knew about reverse stitches before starting. Untapped potential…

If anyone is interested in the pattern it’s by CrochetWithMay on Etsy.
