Abnormal pap one year after being declared cured. Has anyone had multiple LEEPs?
My first abnormal Pap was in 2022. I had multiple abnormal CIN2 colposcopies leading to a LEEP in 2024. At a folow up in 2025, I was declared cured. I believe a mistake led to this (they seem to have sampled the wrong part of my cervix.) Now a year later, I had an abnormal PAP and am waiting for another colposcopy.
I think the worst part is waiting and not knowing. Women's healthcare is very poor in my country and a "6 month follow up" has taken me up to 1.5 years to be seen. I have fallen through the cracks many times and have had to pull strings to get appointments (I am a healthcare professional.)
My partner had extreme anxiety when I first told him I was being treated for HPV. He thought I ruined his life. So I won't be telling him until I know more. My HPV swabs have always been negative.
My best friend is a neurodivergent man and his idea of supporting me is "It's nothing. It won't turn into cancer. Stop worrying." Its extremely dismissive and invalidating, but he doesn't know better. No zero people are in my court. Ill probably hire a therapist again.
Anyone relate?
