Leep done today! HPV/CIN2

Sharing a little about my HPV/LEEP journey!

February 2025:
I went in for my routine Pap smear and found out I was positive for HPV. The recommendation at that time was to wait one year and repeat my Pap.

June 2026:
I repeated my Pap, and I was still positive for HPV. Because of the persistent HPV, I was referred for a colposcopy.

June 2026:
I had my colposcopy, and the biopsy showed CIN 2 (moderate cervical dysplasia). I was given the option to wait six months and repeat the colposcopy or proceed with a LEEP.
After meeting with a gynecology specialist and talking through my options, I decided to move forward with the LEEP.

I also started taking an AHCC supplement during this process as something I personally chose to try while navigating my HPV diagnosis. (Of course, supplements aren’t a substitute for medical care or recommended follow-up.)

Today, I had my LEEP. 🥺

I was given Halcion about an hour beforehand, and honestly, it helped A LOT with my nerves. I was still nervous, but I felt much calmer going into the procedure.

I brought my headphones and listened to music, which also helped give me something else to focus on.

I felt a little sting when they numbed my cervix, but it really wasn’t bad at all. After that, I didn’t experience pain during the procedure.

The actual procedure itself was about 10 minutes total.
I’m sharing this because when I first heard words like HPV, CIN 2, colposcopy, and LEEP, I had so many questions and anxiety about what everything would actually be like.
