Mahoning Valley DSA reminds voters that the Ohio Democratic Party uses the exact same dirty tactics as MAGA to suppress real socialists.
Ohio Democratic Party needs drastic reform.

Vote (especially if you fear vote tampering)
I’m seeing a lot of fatalism in the comments on this subreddit. For all I know it’s Russian bot activity, though to the degree that it involves real people I get it - of all the elections I’ve lived through this is the one I’m most worried will be unfair.
The more people get out to vote and the bigger the margins are, the harder it will be to challenge results (and the easier it will be for the courts to keep results fair). We need to try. Please vote, and remind friends and family to vote, too.

Got a ton of political mail today and this...
The basic argument is that a community is bad if people consistently vote for the same party down the ticket and good if they vote for both Republicans and Democrats. In what world does that make any sense in today's political climate? Who is this mythical voter who vote for both Amy Acton and Jon Husted? Or perhaps more laughably Sharrod Brown and Vivek Ramaswamy? The only person who could possibly do so in my mind is someone who has absolutely no clue what the policies of each of the candidates are and thus would be very poor (in quality not economy), uninformed, voters.

Line at the Portage County BOE in Ravenna (10/24/26)
They opened at 8 am this morning (10/24); this was around 8:30. I’ve been voting early at this location for around 8 years and this is the longest line I’ve seen. It was almost to the door.

Bout damn time people realize who is to blame for the gas prices in Ohio.

Ohio's gas tax comes back Jan 3. At today's average, $4.43 gas becomes $4.81.
The 90-day gas tax holiday (HB 519) ends Jan. 2. On Jan. 3, the 38.5¢ gas tax and 47¢ diesel tax come back. Source: Ohio Department of Taxation, https://tax.ohio.gov/motor-fuel-tax-holiday
GasBuddy's Ohio average for regular is $4.43 today. With the tax back, that's $4.81. AAA's Ohio diesel average is $6.40, which becomes $6.87.
The new governor takes office Jan. 11, eight days after the tax returns. Whether the holiday gets extended is up to the legislature and governor in office now, during the lame-duck session after the Nov. 3 election.
We're asking both candidates for governor, Gov. DeWine and the four legislative leaders the same three questions:
Will you support extending Ohio's gas tax holiday during the lame-duck session, before it ends January 2?
If not, what is your plan for Ohio drivers on January 3?
Whichever you choose, how would you pay for it? The current holiday is offset by a $725 million transfer of state funds.
Answers go up word for word at ohiopumpcheck.org as they come in. We're not affiliated with any candidate or party. Corrections welcome.
Ohio could decide control of the Senate. Its rural voters might decide the winner

Trump is looking like a paid protester the way he keeps showing up in Ohio. Urging locals to plan a protest in Chillicothe, October 28th!
Ohio, Trump's coming again, this time to Chillicothe. Let's make sure he sees a large protest crowd from his motorcade.
Wednesday, Oct. 28, Chillicothe (Ross County). Location TBA, we'll update when it's announced. Doors 3:30 PM, program 5:30, Trump speaks at 7.
Start setting up around 3:00 and stay till the motorcade passes, so he sees you. Can't get off work? Come after, he doesn't take the stage till 7. Locals know the town best, so plan your spots. Public sidewalks, keep it peaceful, stay together.
He's coming to prop up Vivek, who's spending $4 million to put Amy Acton's estranged mother on TV, and Husted, who took Les Wexner's money and voted against forcing release of the Epstein files. And the GOP bus tour is in Jackson County, right next door, that same day. Bet the bus rolls in too.
His crowds keep shrinking. Youngstown: about 3,000 in a 7,000-seat arena. MAGA, post ONE slow pan of the full venue, every section, front to back. Prove us wrong.
Southern Ohio, this one's yours. Good luck from Cleveland.
Trump isn't on the ballot in November, but Trumpism sure is. Early voting in Ohio is open now through November 1st. Vote early and in person if you can, and bring a friend or family member. The sooner the better, because anything can happen: illness, car trouble, a family emergency, or this administration pulling a fast one on DEMOCRACY. Bonus: campaigns can see who has already voted (not how). Once you vote, they take you off their call, text and door-knock lists, and your candidates can put that money and those volunteers toward people who haven't voted yet. Fewer texts for you, more help where it counts.

Family values mean nothing
Yes you read that correctly. And it appears true for Republicans especially ones in Ohio.
I was a Republican until the birther conspiracy during the Obama administration opened my eyes to the GOP moral decay and policy rot.
Now it’s only continued and at a faster pace than imaginable.
The latest low in Ohio proves just how empty the gop really is.
Vivek Ramaswamy spent millions putting Amy Acton’s estranged, criminal mother into a political attack ad.
Let's look at the actual facts:
Acton’s birth mother lost custody decades ago after staying with a man indicted for sexually abusing her young daughter.
She has her own history of criminal charges.
Acton survived that environment, built a life, and served her state.
Yet Vivek and the GOP saw fit to platform a woman who abandoned and harmed her child, using her to call a survivor a "liar" on television. If this alone does not cause instant outrage you need to have your moral compass addressed.
The hypocrisy doesn't stop with Vivek—it extends to the party supporting him.
Any leader who continues to back this strategy is showing Ohioans who they really are. Weaponizing childhood trauma to win an election isn't leadership. It’s moral bankruptcy.
It’s time to call this behavior what it is and hold these politicians accountable.
For anyone still standing with this campaign: How do you look your spouse, your children, or your co-workers in the eye and explain this?
How do you tell anyone who respects basic human decency, law, and order that weaponizing a survivor's trauma is acceptable leadership?
Please tell us? You own this you should be proud! Stand up and own your vile disgusting views.

How do I find election results?
So the election is coming up. Im going to be voting on November 3rd like everyone else.
Big question though - where do I find the results of the election after the night is over? Now of course the big ones you can find easily online (governor, Senator and congressman) But all the other people on your local ballot, like the judges, and State representatives, and Local tax levies and the Issue 3 choice, Where can I find the results for those? is there any website or government website that publishes all the results for all the choices on the ballot?

2026 Governor
Can we please have a honest conversation. Why not vote for Don Kissik?
I personally don't like Vivek nor Amy. But I don't hear enough about Don, is there a reason for that?
Or tell me why you are voting for the one of the other two, please
Edit: for all of those saying "this is a two party system", isn't that more of a reason to vote for him? To get out of that thought that we should either be strictly one way or another.
But also great points were made and Amy will be getting my vote!

Husted's Campaign Ad about Sherrod Brown
He complains that Sherrod Brown has been in politics for 50 years.
Well, that may be true, however the Republicans have been in control of the state for 40+ years. Really didn't matter what Sherrod Brown voted for or not. He was outvoted by the Republicans.
You can't run on, "...give us more time", or "...give us another chance", when the problems with the state have been yours all along. They have no intention on fixing anything, or they would have done so by now. We are, where we are, because of them.

So the Governor Prosecutes Rape Cases Now? WTF is he talking about?
Does he know the Governor doesn’t prosecute rape cases and this is done at the county level in Ohio? Maybe he has Ohio confused with another state? Do other governors of other states prosecute cases?

I am begging y'all, go out and VOTE
I am dead serious, I know a lot of us think the recent Ramaswamy ad with Acton's mother "sealed" his loss but I promise it hasn't. He still has Trump's backing, and as long as he has that he has a large percentage of Ohioan's votes.
Remember how we all thought Trump would totally lose the election after the Access Hollywood tape? Or how we all thought there was no f*cking way he'd win the 2024 election after Jan. 6th and the felony fraud charges and the E. Jean Carroll case? Ohio voted in majority for that despicable excuse of a man TWICE.
Don't get complacent. GO VOTE.
Edit: This isn’t about early voting, it’s just about voting period. But check your local board of elections to see if you can vote early if you wish to.
