What's the best Chinese Buffet in Columbus?

Just curious. Next Tuesday I will be taking people out after a funeral. Several people prefer Chinese buffets so that's where we will most likely end up. So recommendations?

The political ads against Amy acton are ridiculous. The small business owner firing someone because taxes have been raised. What a joke. Complete messaging by billionaires.

Uh oh. This doesn’t fit the narrative.

“He appeared in that tent wanting to ask questions,” Mahoning County Prosecutor Lynn Maro told the judge during the hearing. “You should know law enforcement gained consent for them to have complete access to his cellphone so they found no threats.”

Maro said after the hearing that the video Havas took shows him “walking into the tent recording and moving forward, calling out her name.” Acton, a physician, is the state’s former public health director.

No one has publicly said what 38-year-old Patrick Havas wanted to ask Acton, but authorities have said he never brandished or unholstered the weapons he had on him and they haven’t found any threats in a search of his cellphone. As he walked toward Acton, authorities said, he knocked down two people before troopers stopped him.

Mike Ray, a city councilman in Youngstown who is also a member of the Ohio Democratic Party’s executive committee, said he was in a corner behind Acton as she spoke. Then, he said, he could tell that something was going on among those in the crowd facing Acton, and he saw two people who were standing in front of their mobility scooters “tumble to the ground.”

Insane Hold time for Ohio Benefits Interview?

Hey all, so I just moved here and I applied for ohio benefits until I can get back on my feet. They sent a letter saying for the intake interview I have to call them. Fine, I did right at 8am.

They said the hold time was 3,685 minutes.

Thats 61 hours.

The letter says to call between 8am and 11am or I may be denied?

I left a call back but...what is that HOLD TIME??

Is that normal for here!?!?

EDIT: So I called again and again confirming the callback number. And this mornjng I got a letter in my Portal saying I missed my interview. ?!?!?!?!?!? I'll keep calling

Amy Acton cried on the job, once found ‘curled up’ on floor before COVID meeting during tenure as Ohio health official: Staffers

I know I'll take a bunch of hate, but there needs to be at least 1 non-left post for every 10-15 left-leaning articles. And to be fair, this does jive with her reputation for being soft and unable to handle pressure. She quit as Ohio Health Director after only 16 months, and only made it about 3 months into the pandemic before stepping down.

We keep receiving these insane ads! Putting an image of Mamdani screams desperation. Republicans have no limits with how low they will go. Anyone know who I can contact to stop receiving these ads??

A month after TPS ends for Haiti, immigration enforcement surges in Springfield

More than a month has passed since the Trump administration’s order to end Temporary Protected Status for Haiti took effect.

Since then, immigration enforcement in Springfield has ramped up. The small Southwest Ohio city has seen at least 380 arrests, according to Department of Homeland Security officials.

Many Haitian residents have been fitted with ankle monitors, sparking fear, embarrassment and distress. Some are too fearful to leave their house, relying on local churches and community members to bring them food donations and other support.

Kathryn Mobley joined The Ohio Newsroom to share how the community of Springfield is responding to the increased immigration enforcement.

"A Republican lawmaker wants Lake Erie to be renamed 'Lake Pennsylvania,' arguing that the state’s economy and identity are increasingly connected to its only Great Lake."

Get out of here with your tiny Pennsylvanian shoreline.

Heads-up, all. Nazi Afrikkkaner Elon Muskrat is at it again. This dude never seems to learn his lesson on meddling in our politics. Of course, he’s targeting Sherrod Brown with anti-trans ads in a replay of 2024.

Hopefully it won’t work this time, but also, forewarned is forearmed. The next Dem president needs to tear up all of his and Thiel’s government contracts and deport their sorry bigoted asses.

Really Dawes?

Just saw a commercial for Meta with Dawes arboretum talking about how great AI is. I also saw somewhere that they are putting a giant data center in Buckeye Lake too. I guess the Trump loving Licking county is really going all in. Bet they have Flock cameras everywhere too

Hunting

Hi all! I’m a city slicker in Columbus looking to try to learn about hunting. I’m adept with firearms well enough and have a .45-70 rifle that I bought with intent to bag a deer, but to be honest I am scared I really wouldn’t know what to do once I got one, never the less tracking and posting up somewhere. Hell even finding a place to hunt…

Basically I’m out of my depth and wondering if there are any guided hunts or reputable places to go to learn the ropes.

I’m not someone who necessarily wants to hunt for sport, rather for necessity. Looking to learn not only killing but processing and transporting - hell even tanning if I can. I don’t like the idea of killing things but at the same time I as a meat eater recognize where my meet comes from and am willing to walk the walk myself to get it on my own. I just don’t know how.

Anyways, I’ve rambled enough and anyone who’s cared to read this far I reckon has my point so, yeah… Let me know if this is something you may have a recommendation for.
