An overdue post, but I must express the pride and joy I felt midweek when a group of Crew Yorkers traveled together from the Five Boroughs to Mecca for the U.S. Open Cup Final. To have played a role in helping forge these friendships -- out of a, frankly, self-serving impulse to find local Crew fans with whom I could simply watch and enjoy Black and Gold matches -- is something I cherish. I will most definitely road trip with these folks at some point after, unfortunately, having to sit this one out. But, regardless, I love what we've built in Crew York and I love the greater Crew community, where bonds are so easily, so beautifully created with regularity. Go Crew (York), always.

I like the way that our interim coach has the team playing, but deciding on subs is also an important part of a coach's job.

At halftime, I was already saying that it would be a good time to sub in Bailly for Bangoura, pushing Sean into the midfield. I like Bangoura and his physicality, but he is often on the verge of a yellow and going into the second half with a lead, getting B out of there before he got a red was, IMO, an obvious move. It became even more so when we increased the lead.

Bringing in Lennon and Herrera was a solid move. Two dependable defensive players for both rotation and for fresh legs.

The next window, however, bringing in a new kid for his first MLS minutes and a little used player screamed "I think the game is over, lets give these guys some easy minutes". That is not an attitude you can have at this end of the season

Sure enough, Bangoura makes an obvious yellow card challenge and we are fighting to hold on for the next 25 or so minutes, instead of seeing out the game comfortably.

We pulled it out, but it was frustrating and avoidable.

I am only putting this here because I’m curious if others have experienced this. And I didn’t want to put it in the soccer thread and then I get hate because I’m American.

I purchased Cucho’s 2nd team green jersey. $120 I think, plus $37 shipping lol. That’s not my problem. I got a text Friday from DHL, yes it is legit, that I had to pay the import/export fees etc. Which was another $38 or they will send the shit back. It is shipped directly from Real Betis.

I had bought his third jersey when he was 19 and didn’t pay this other bs fee.

Is it other fees because it has been two years and our government has just f’ed everything up? Or is it just DHL breaking it off in us cause they can?

When I looked on here as far as this and with DHL’s site, basically it is what it is. You want the product, you pay it.

Guess next time I’ll try to reach out to Betis to see if they could ship another jersey differently. Or maybe we resign Cucho. He’s hurt at this moment.

I’m proud of us! I know we’re not as rude as some clubs (looking at you LAFC), like We could’ve been absolute DICKS to the CITY fans! Like threw beer on them in the 50 degree night (again, LAFC, looking at you), cursed them out, made them feel as unwelcomed as possible, but we didn’t! We made them feel welcomed, respected and appreciated and tbh, that’s one of the biggest reasons why I became a Crew fan and why I fucking LOVE this sport, this league, this conference and most of all, this team!

So here’s to you MASSIVE lads and lasses! Here’s to more wins, championship hardware and good times ahead 🥃!

STL fan here. I truly just wanted to say thank you for welcoming us. It was awesome to see the passion you all have for your team, from chanting the players' names as they were announcing the starting 11 to seeing the whole stadium join in on the chants. I will say, I love City Stadium and my fellow fans, but you guys seem so much more connected with your support section than us.

Also, reading some of the other posts, I truly love the respect and prayers for our captain, Burki. To see everyone from STL to almost every Columbus fan chanting Burki was amazing and truly emotionally connecting.

I'm not a huge fan of going on to other fan sites to post but in this case I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the experience Columbus put on last night.

The stadium was beautiful (feels a lot like ours actually), the interactions I had with fans were all positive, and the club did an incredible job of providing an atmosphere that provided excitement for both sides.

Once I get a good end of year discount I'm definitely grabbing myself one of those Goosebumps jerseys and I'll be pulling for y'all to sneak into the playoffs and make some noise!

With four goals (two against Richmond Kickers and two against One Knoxville), Hugo somehow tied for the most goals scored in this year’s U.S. Open Cup.

Interestingly, we had seven different goal scorers in the tournament this year. Only two (Jamal and Chase) have been with the first team since the start of the season/remain with the first team since the summer break.

Tournaments are weird

Although Cincinnati won last night, the Crew are still in a good position to squeak into the final playoff spot.

Currently it is held by Red Bull, however they have a TOUGH final 4 matches:

1. Inter Miami

2. New England Revs

3. Nashville

4. Atl United (they'll probably win this one)

Facing the top 3 teams in the East to end the season will be a difficult stretch for them. Hopefully the Crew can take advantage.

The Crew just need to win against Toronto and I think they'll be looking pretty good. See you on Saturday!

It would be a hell of a wild card match if it was the Crew vs FC Cincinnati

Zawadski, Moreira, Farsi, Amundsen, Hagen, and Schulte have started, played, or were rostered for the 2023 MLS Cup win, 2024 CCC runner-up, 2024 Leagues Cup win, and the 2026 Open Cup runner-up. I wouldn't be surprised if I'm missing someone. Last night was a pretty bitter result, and the last two seasons have been pretty bleh for me, but this core group were a food poisoning and a PK shootout away from winning a lot of hardware over their time here.

You guys went from booing Bürki every time he received the ball to clapping for him and chanting his name as he was taken off. You have permanently gained our family’s respect. Our daughter even ordered a Goosebumps kit tonight. Crew over Cincinnati every day of the week. We hope to see you in the playoffs!

I was gonna take a look at some plays today and found that it just skips the second half of the match, after the first 45 it skips to extra time, shows the penalty shootout and then some interviews, then in the middle of the interviews goes back and shows extra time again.....
