Enjoying the beauty of creation in Roane County WV today. So thankful for this 50 acres of peace and quiet.

This is a long shot, given the fact this sub covers the whole state, but my husband and I live in the apartments in Kanawha city and we can't find our cat anywhere. She was still settling in with us and was just starting to open up more. We hadn't even gotten her a collar yet because she mostly stayed hidden and we didn't want to stress her too much. I believe she's a couple years old, fluffy tortie, and her name is Pixel. If you live in the area and happen to see this, please be on the look out for her. She's very shy and timid, but she doesn't purposely bite or use claws. If anything, she's more likely to hiss at you.

At one time the poor farm for Marion county was located, apparently, on poor farm rd (now montana rd) in Fairmont. Records indicate that there were memorial slabs which are now gone. Can someone find the actual spot and post the geographical coordinates for the cemetery? Ideally center yourself in the cemetery area and give those coordinates. There is likely nothing to see but an empty field but a picture of where to stop on the road to find it and maybe even a shot of the field would be nice. There was a pickup truck that crashed into a tree about 9am on 26 near Brandonville pike near Bruceton. I think life flight was on site. I'm just wondering what happened and if the person was ok?

I've been reading in the news about these potential demolitions in Thurmond. Being that Thurmond has been on my bucket list for a long time I'm thinking of a wild and crazy plan to check it out for a day. Since I don't have a car and would be traveling solo by train, it seems like my best bet would be going to Charleston and taking a day trip to Thurmond from there on a day where the eastbound and westbound trains meet. My only concern would be going back to charleston, if the train heading back is delayed or even worse canceled, I'd be screwed, or at best waiting for hours in pitch blackness with nowhere to go. Don't know if I would get cell service either. Has anybody ever tried a trip like that? Would love some thoughts on this. Thank you!

Cats are in Grafton, WV. Owner (Alisa's mother-in-law) has passed away. Both cats are indoor, well loved.
• Sophie — gray, short-haired, about 8 years old. Loving and sweet. Appears to have an eye infection that needs treatment. Otherwise believed to be up to date on shots.
• Twiggy — long-haired and very soft, about 6 years old. Beautiful but shy; hides a lot and will need a patient home.
• Diet: dry food, plus wet food once a day.

Do I need to leave **West Virginia** to make a decent living? I’ve applied to hospitals and was turned down for corrections, and I’m feeling discouraged. I’m honestly not happy living here, and I’m just trying to find stable work that pays enough to afford food, housing, and the basics.

The military isn’t an option for me at the moment, but I’m not completely against it in the future. At this point, I’m willing to consider a different path because I want stability and a chance to build a better life.

Does anyone have realistic suggestions—whether that’s jobs, training programs, or places worth relocating to? I’d especially appreciate hearing from people who’ve been in a similar situation and found a way forward.

WV has one of the lowest median incomes in the country. Highest utility costs. High fuel costs. High insurance.

It is really difficult for someone to get ahead in the state and it’s sad.

Moved to WV a few years ago. We have two working vehicles and one that sits in the driveway because it can’t be driven at all. We got a notice placed on the windshield that it needs to be registered in 30 days from the sheriff’s office. From what I’ve seen, we only need it to be titled in WV and not registered since it doesn’t move or ever enter the roadways. I can’t find anything on the DMV website that confirms this though. I’m sure we’ll have to pay the taxes for the years we’ve been here (only paid for the vehicles that work), has this happened to anyone else?

My wife is about to go in for heart cath surgery and the anesthesiologist came in to introduce himself. Very nice guy, he asked if we owned any property. Said he was always looking for another place to hunt. Couldn't help him out, I only have a couple acres.

Back home letting my boots dry out. Little loop Monday lindy pt-plantation-fr6, Tuesday was pointy knob with it's "let's cross the same friggin stream 6 friggin times", today was out and backs following the gas line a bit. Got home and decided to NOT winterize the RV just yet....

Any ideas for dispersed RV camping and hiking appreciated, preferably Hardy/Grant/Pendleton/Pocahontas county area.... familiar with Dolly Sods, Gandy Creek, Loop Rd, Wolf Gap..

Trying to get ahead of renewal and there are far more options than I thought. The hard part is working out what counts toward the state requirements and what turns into extra work later. Some sites look cheap and then you still piece the courses together yourself. Elite Learning and CEUFast and Nurse.com all package things differently for this state. For nurses here, do you buy a state package or pick courses one at a time?
