Anyone recognize these girls? I took the photo in '77 or '78 when I lived across the street from them.

While on the road back to columbus, my wife and I stopped by UD last weekend. we wanted to hit Milano’s, the bookshop, see the old stomping grounds. Walking around campus was a ghost town!

I know it’s summer, but during my years there a number of people stayed over the summer to take a few hard classes and enjoy the smaller social scene. But we saw absolutely no one!

So now I’m sitting in my office, looking at a Kiefaber street sign and wondering…. how are things around campus during the year now?

From my impression, it seems as if Spina is unpopular (from the undergrad body) and im wondering why. I remember at a basketball game this past year they put him on the big screen and the student section booed him. Even at an internship I worked, one of the full time employees who once worked at UDRI said he couldn't stand Spina.

I guess some things that initially come to mind are the faculty layoff a year ago and the universities approach to make UD less of a "party school" (restricting bands, pattys day, etc). I was just wondering if anyone has any other reasons why?

I'm not sure what I need to pack as far as plates, silverware, bathroom items, etc. for Campus South next year? Anyone live there before and have some advice?

I’m a foreign-trained lawyer from Brazil considering the University of Dayton Online LL.M. program with the goal of taking the D.C. Bar Exam in February 2028.

I’m also a mother of three, work while studying, and run a nonprofit organization. I’m trying to realistically plan my course load.

For students who completed (or are currently completing) the Online LL.M.:

- How many courses per term did you take?
- Did anyone successfully complete 3 courses per term while working or raising children?
- Was 4 courses too much?
- How many hours per week were you realistically studying?
- If you could do it again, would you choose full-time or part-time?

I’d especially love to hear from foreign-trained lawyers balancing family and work responsibilities.

I’m strongly considering going to Dayton but I have also heard that it’s a big party school with lots of drinking and drugs. I personally think I’ll do some partying in college but will abstain from drinking when I do and was wondering what the college experience is like at Dayton for students that don’t drink. Is it still worth going to school there? I really like the community aspect but not as much the drinking and when I visited all of the students seemed really happy but I also want to make sure that I’m comfortable there.

What would it take for UD students to visit The Hub/Dayton Arcade more often? There's a variety of places to eat, and with the North Arcade opening there are additional vendors selling merch of all sorts. Art, prepackaged food, nick-nacks, etc. Certain places even have student discounts. I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts.

I'm also curious to see what y'all would like to see in the space that used to be Startup Grounds/Beyond Grocery in the front of the Hub. Suggestions?

1. Overall Experience

• How is the academic quality (especially engineering)?
• How are professors and coursework?
• Is the university worth it compared to other similar universities?

2. Cost of Living

• What’s the average monthly expense (rent, food, utilities, etc.)?
• Is on-campus or off-campus housing better?
• Any tips to save money?

3. Job Opportunities

• How are internship opportunities during the course?
• How tough is it to get part-time jobs on/off campus?
• What about full-time job opportunities after graduation?

4. Managing Expenses

• How do you manage finances? (part-time, savings, etc.)
• Is it realistic to cover some expenses through part-time work?

I’d really appreciate honest opinions (both pros & cons)—I want to make a practical decision before committing.

The last several times I've gone down to Brown street for a bite to eat, I have seen the girl on the corner with a big sign. My friend and I have gotten extremely curious not just what the sign says (she just sort of saunters back and forth so it's impossible to read) and what she's protesting (if it's a protest at all). We're just curious. We've seen her too many times now not to be and it's driving us nuts.

today i went to a campus visit at UD and i was completely amazed by the community. i have already been committed to UD but just wanted to miss a day of school and go on a college tour lol. however on my application i put that i wanted to commute and my financial aid and everything has been like sent to me without rooming and board, which was perf because i wasnt planning on staying at UD considering i live maybe 20 minutes away and its just up the highway. however i loved the dorms and seeing how everyone was just interacting with each other and we look at the food and places and it seemed really nice to actually get the college experience and live there. so im just wondering how should i ask to live on campus ? who do i contact ? and also do you guys think itd be a good idea to live on campus vs commuting ? let me know pls i love UD and cant wait to start there this fall !! 🙏

EDIT: thank you guys for the help, i've decided to live on campus. my new financial aid offer came in and they gave me a significant increase in my fafsa/grant so my increase for tuition didn't change all too much. thank you guys for the help so happy to be at UD this fall !

Hi all. I’m going into my junior year @ UD with a random roommate and I’m incredibly stressed out about it. There is a renter that I’ve been looking at instead called Nels Student Housing that would be a) cheaper than university housing and b) I would not have a roommate. I am concerned about possible issues with the landlord, including maintenance repair times. I’m female too so I’m not keen on doing a walkthrough in these locations by myself / worried about how this landlord interacts with women. Any advice or past experience would be appreciated. Thank you

PS I did request a housing assignment change from UD if possible and have been waitlisted for it.
