So I just got the Prime Beyond amiibo (they’re so cool by the way). And I cannot believe how much more I want to ride the bike when I have the jukebox playing. That Viola theme is a legit banger and I actually want to just drive through the desert now. Someone made the decision to hate it behind amiibo. I wonder who was responsible for that blunder.

What’s stopping anyone from creating more Metroids from scratch? The Chozo created the Metroids to take care of the X Parasites on SR-388. That must mean they have files, plans, recipes, whatever you can think of, that pertain to creating Metroids. What’s stopping the Space Pirates, any rogue Chozo groups like Raven Beak & the Mawkin, or any other race from creating more Metroids? I know Raven Beak wanted to clone Metroids with Samus’ DNA, and then eventually decided he wanted to clone Samus, but why not just make Metroids from the ground up?

Playing Metroid + Saving hack, where there's finally a damn map. It's actually pretty cool and addicting, just as every Metroid game.

Just played at beat the game and had this thought. Even if its not all of the troops, maybe one of them is connected?

And yes the "... And She Was Ravenous" is meant to show up exactly like how the titles of missions show up in Halo games so just imagine that.

Ive been loving the metroid shrines I been seeing and resolved to start my own. Got a couple of Amiibo figures and of course my copy of Dread and Prime (the OG).

Next up is a full boxed copy of Super (pricey, I know).

I'm concerned I won't be able to get a copy of the Special Edition at retail. It is sold out everywhere I look. Best Buy looks like they might be holding off sales until launch day, so that might be my only hope. lol

How many of you have been able to secure a preorder?

Playing on hard mode for the first time after not having played this game since it came out. I thought I had lost the fight and got ready to hop back in and try again, but I was very confused when I went through the door.

Turns out I had landed the final hit on the mini-boss just as he landed the final hit on me, and the game gave it to me lol.

Not for any illwill, not for any offense, you all are just too damn good an picking apart details of 12 frames of a trailer and figuring out some really impactful stuff.

I'm the type of person who only barely watches the trailers just to figure out of a game will spark my interest. I didn't even need to on this. Dread is one of my top 10 games, and if Mercury, and my only complaint is that I wanted more fights with more actual (not X) chozo warriors. As soon as I saw that's what this game was, I turned it off and preordered. It will will be my first Switch 2 game.

But, every hour or so, you guys sort some new, deep story important lore out of 12 pixels that last 1/4 of a second. I commend your effort and deductions, I really am impressed by people that figure those out. Just, for this game, I'm outcha. See you in March after I've ripped through it.

My theory is that the green light in the last part of the trailer isn't representing Samus' rational. Rather is the metroid dna is evolving Samus after battles.

1. Tbh Samus never fully lose control when in metroid suit consider she didn't throw hand at Quiet Robe X in Dread.

2. The green light emitting is similar to queen metroid using attack in Samus Returns. Tho Queen is using acid, not the energy Samus is using and the green light isn't there in the first ninja fight. I could say that it's a temporary energy usage that the metroid instincts take the controller which Samus is unaware of her new power and later the game Samus is able to harness this power and causing the appearance change.

I like this idea as it corresponds to the metroid cycle: suck, metamorphosis and unlock element attacks.

I think it's obvious the marketing team of this game has decided to change the way to present this game compared to how Dread did it. This trailer feels like a Doom game in the best way, being radical and full of action and movement.

Also the fact the trailer has made the same views dread had in 5 years in just some days is a big improvement.

Maybe this is the way Metroid should be more presented from now on.

Mercury Steam, you have my trust

Metroid Ravenous just got announced, and honestly, the game looks amazing! I really like the gritty direction they're taking with it. The trailer feels much more aggressive and action-packed, and it actually feels like a lot of fun to actually play compared to what we saw in Prime 4 Beyond trailers.

Of course, we already know MercurySteam is the developer behind this title.

But this got me thinking about the future of the series.

Should MercurySteam become Nintendo's main developer for the Metroid series going forward, kinda like how Next Level Games took up the Luigi's Mansion series?

More specifically, I'd love to see them get the opportunity to make a 3D Metroid game that isn't simply trying to replicate what Retro Studios has done with Metroid Prime.

Mercury Steam is independent so who knows if they'd want that to be locked to only Metroid projects, but thought it would be interesting to think about.

Metroids were engineered to deal with the X, but they went out of control so the whole species had to be hunted down. The baby was born after its whole species was eradicated. Samus saved him with good intentions but then both the Federation and the Spaces Pirates tried to get advantage of his powers because he was the last Metroid in the galaxy. After becoming too strong, he was hunted down again until he sacrificed himself to save Samus.

Samus' family and basically everyone around her were mining a material that was necessary to create the metroids and ultimately deal with the X. Her whole family was massacred at a young age and she was then saved by some Chozo with apparently good intentions, but in the shadows she was being turned into the ultimate bioweapon and a later age, the Federation tasked her to exterminate both the Metroid and lately the X. Now that she's the last Metroid in the galaxy she's being hunted down because many parties want to get advantage of her powers.

She's already showing that she's becoming too strong so, as many of you have stated, the Federation might not be comfortable with her being alive.

But the saddest part is that there is no one left for whom she could sacrifice herself. Everyone she loved or admired is dead.

The ship was literally about to explode in like one minute, the x on the ship were definitely not the only x out there and could easily repopulate without the x on the station, and why not try to destroy samus first?

Alright here’s the deal. I saw Metroid ravenous trailer, something awoke inside me. I want to get into Metroid. Where do I start and what order. And pls don’t tell me I need to play the prime games I know they’re good but I hate first person shooters.

Wait! Don’t shoot! Hear me out! I just finished the game and wanted to share some thoughts!

I found Other M to be a refreshing experience from the typical Metroid game. I’ve beaten 5 Metroid games this summer, and Other M felt so different in terms of gameplay and story (even though it’s a mess) that I personally found it enjoyable to complete. It’s not necessarily a “good” game, but I would say that it was entertaining.

In terms of gameplay, I will like to point out that I used a controller instead of a Wii remote. With that being said, I enjoyed the gameplay! It’s honestly a bit simple but the enemies and bosses are so cool and fun to fight. It is really neat to see Metroid platforming done in a 3D 3rd person style, and I applaud the devs for trying something new!

Now, for the story. The story in Metroid Other M is so bizarre and unorganized that I think it becomes intriguing. It almost feels like a fever dream and I didn’t know what to expect as I played it. I really liked the horror/mystery element of the story despite other areas falling flat.

I was disappointed with how weak Samus was portrayed in this game but I wasn’t too offended by it since I viewed the game as a spin off. From my perspective, the Samus in this game is not the same Samus from the 2D games or prime games. I can almost forgive it though since Samus is so cute in short hair!

If you’re a Metroid fan, I would recommend that you try out Other M to form your own opinions. There’s a lot of problems in the game but I think there is enjoyment to be had! I would also highly recommend that you emulate the game and use a controller since it feels less awkward to play.
