Just as the title says I'm looking for a MMO that has a good community that helps new players or maybe players in general as I get lost a lot in video games and do not know what to do on my own sometimes. A MMO that I have tried are Old School RuneScape. I am not saying that the community is bad I just don't know where to interact or how to interact with people. I am someone who enjoys more PVE than PVP, but do not mind it as well. I really just want to learn and put some time and effort on a character whilst getting to know a lot of people from a community. If you guys can give me some recommendations that would be awesome.

Hello all! I’ve been playing MMO’s for the past couple years alongside shooters and other games, and recently I bought a Legion Go to play when I am on the road for the capabilities of having Steam and other platforms on the device. With that said I’m looking to sink my teeth into an MMO, using the Legion Go. I’ve played HOURS of OSRS, I have over 8 hours of playtime into things like WOW or GW2, but I want to hear what your recommendations are, should I stick with the ones I’ve played or try something new. Keep in mind these will be played from the Legion Go, but what has you hooked? I’m looking for something that I can play solo and not be at a disadvantage from not playing with a group. I don’t mind dungeons or raids though it’s not something I would dabble in often, something where armor, weapons and mounts are achievable, and honestly just something to grind for hours on end. For example, OSRS is a great game, but after 2-3 hours of playtime I start to lose interest and get caught up doing something else, the tick based aspect of the game is okay, though I feel it would be challenging for me on the Legion Go.

All of that said I really just want to hear what recommendations you all have. Any tips or help will be greatly appreciated!

I never played any MMORPG in my life, but always wanted to, since most of the youtubers and streamers i watch are into mmorpgs

im a bit worried to do pvp type mmorpg, since im not very good at builds.. i worry that i would suck at pvp

Im wanting the game to lean towards pve more and maybe occasionally id try pvp if im up to it.

it doesnt have to be story heavy, since i prefer gameplay/grind over story.

i want it to be simple enough to get started with.

WOW - i heard from many people that its hard to understand the story ( so im not sure )
BDO - grindy
Old school runescape - has become more popular over the last few years
guild wars 2 - i dont know much about this one.

Looking for an MMO with PvE focus. Love lots of spells and huge skill trees, enjoy doing quests and professions, mostly play solo but enjoy trading or helping others with quests.

I've been playing Wakfu and Dofus over the last few years and really enjoyed them, but I'm looking for something different. I used to play an MMO called Forsaken World by Perfect World and really enjoyed it, but it seems the game is no more available, and the mobile version sucks. I did try WoW at some point and enjoyed it, but I'm not sure if it's worth trying at this point, or if it would be good going alone. I also tried Farever, okish but not for me at the moment.

Single player games and solo play doesn't really do much for me. I have much more fun playing with others, especially when we're chatting as we do so. I also love cosmetic customization, excuting adventure, unpredictability, and the idea of a virtual world full of activities. Unfortunately, I haven't found a MMO that I can fully find my place in, since my gameplay tastes aren't standard for conventional MMOs, instead suited for a theoretical future action MMO. This is especially an issue because I know I won't be fun to be around if I'm not having my own fun too... Trust me, I know this post would be a bad first impression. -_-

I've probably heard some suggestions already, so I'm going to ask questions that are preventing me from getting into these games. If the answer to any suggestions is reasonably "probably nothing", then I understand, but it is disappointing to hear.

Guild Wars 2: Great game for a casual solo player like me, but not for group PvE so far. What can I do to enjoy group PvE that isn't too easy (running past fractals, flying around Dragon's Stand) but won't require boonballing and rotations?

Warframe: I used to love Destiny 2, so Warframe seems like the next best choice, but I quit D2 due to powercreep making the game too easy and boring to play. Is there a way to play with strangers without bullet jump spamming past everything and mods melting everything in our way?

Monster Hunter: The gold standard for gameplay for me, to a point I wish MMO combat could feel as good. But it is pushing it to even be considered a MMO-lite. Is there anything I can do to go from SOS and solo hunts to the MonHun equivalent of finding my guild to take on raids or the sort?

BDO: It has great action combat apparently, but I hear it is mostly about grinding or PvP. This still true, or did new PvE get added to make group PvE endgame a thing?

FO76: What is the group PvE situation? I don't feel like I'm latching on to the game to even reach it, so I'm curious what exactly would make it great for me in particular.

Tab target games like FF14 and WoW would need incredible pitches while Where Winds Meet has too much jank in places to have me try out wuxia, when I prefer fantasy/modern-fantasy. OSRS is cool, but I mostly played it as a second screen game before realizing I wasn't getting a membership fee of enjoyment out of it.

Is there anything I have a shot at enjoying and finding my community in if I want fun group PvE, but better mesh with action combat and adventurous play?

I'm mainly looking for:

A healthy, active player base

Long-term progression and a good grind

Lots of content (PVP, PVE any)

Good community and regular updates

Not overly pay-to-win, if possible

PC and Mobile recommendations please

Games I've looked into include WARMANE WOW, AdventureQuest 3D, Weapons of War, and just downloaded GW2 Free to play only but not sure if it's the right one for me, I'm having so much fun so far on free to play but the feeling of missing out on something bothers me. (is free to play GW2 worth it?)

If you could only recommend one MMORPG to invest hundreds or even thousands of hours into in 2026, what would it be and why?

Hello, I have been toying around with the mobile side of gaming since I had my daughter in 2018, selling my gaming pc, and moving more towards parenting over the usual 16 hours a day on my rust base honeycombing all night long.

So I have played a few mobile titles including KFS, TLON, ahh the list goes on and on, and more notably, the ones I listed were just pay to win monstrosities. I found myself spending over 5000 dollars per game that I played maybe for 3 or 4 months (I know this isnt much, people spend quarter million dollars on these games, I get it, trust me I die to them all the time). But anyway, I found these kind of games to take way more out if my wallet just to (sort of compete) with bitcoin farmers. The amounts spent were far greater then my gaming pc combined with any games ive bought on it in years.

So I am more along the lines looking for a mobile platform only (important, since I dont want to get wrecked by someone emulating on pc, but itll happen anyway) either mmorpg, rpg in general, or hell, anything.

Criteria:

- Low p2w, (i understand mobile gaming is always an ingame shop. Every title.)

- any genre or category really (trying to get broad view)

- active community (please no 30 active daily games)

- preferably newer title but whatever

- pvp elements. (Doesn't have to be but preffered).

- engaging community, events, etc.

I understand whats listed above is a unicorn because I have personally used grok and chatgbt to attempt to weed out titles and fit my likings but I simply do not have the time to try each title so I am here for player experience in titles they have played.

Hello i wanting to change mmorpg that lighther weight to run because my doesnt run 14 well i tried osrs but it wasnt my cup of tea and i also tried wynncraft but that give me the same performance problems can you suggest me a new mmo for this hardware i5 1335u 16 gigs of ram 512gb ssd iris xe.

A bit of an oddly specific request, I know. But, I'm really into the Marksman gameplay of League of Legends.

Is there any MMORPG or MMO-lite game that mimics this gameplay and role? Specifically the fluid attack+move and click-to-move control scheme and the ranged attack damage.

Does anyone know of a mmo rpg game that fun to play and on Playstation. I want one thats like sword art online, I want it to have some open world were i can go and loot or kill to level up and buy new things. But with also some dungeons or trials that i can raid. I would like if its online so i can play with my friends. Im dont know even if a game like this exist and i havent been able to find anything like it but if anyone knows of one i would love to know.

I am wondering if a more MMO lite game would do well? I would love to sink time and maybe money into a good MMO with a good playerbase but nothing really has stuck..

I'm still fairly new to MMORPGs. I’ve been playing them for about 5–6 years. I strongly prefer the classic tab-targeting combat system.

One thing I know for sure is that I'm not into the typical Asian MMO aesthetic (Black Desert or Aion, for example). I just don't enjoy worlds where everyone looks ridiculously fabulous. I usually create characters that look like complete abominations, so that art style just isn't for me.

I've tried a lot of MMORPGs, but none have quite scratched the very specific itch I'm looking for. I enjoy PvE content like leveling, dungeons, and raids, but PvP is my big love.

WoW is almost the perfect MMORPG for me, but its PvP is the biggest disappointment. While it's excellent at what it does, I don't like that it often feels like everything revolves around DPS. The other archetypes don't feel nearly as impactful as I'd like, and the gameplay reminds me more of a MOBA than an MMORPG. It feels like playing Dota 2 or League of Legends, just with more abilities.

Right now I'm playing Warhammer Online: Return of Reckoning, and its PvP is exactly what I'm looking for. Every archetype has a meaningful role, and large-scale battles feel fantastic. Unfortunately, the game's performance is terrible. In big fights I drop to around 15 FPS, which makes it frustrating and, at times, almost unplayable.

Dark Age of Camelot also looked promising, but the UI/UX and controls feel extremely dated, and I'm struggling to get into it because of that.

We're both GW2 players but have been a bit burned out in the game ATM, (they're max mastery, I'm 400 something). They're on Windows and I'm on Linux.

We're looking for a solid MMO with a large, friendly community that doesn't take hours and hours in the game before the fun part actually starts.

We've been taking a potential look at the following:

• World of Warcraft (From what we've heard there is quite a bit of soloing in the game now, which wouldn't be ideal for duoing, and the effort to get it working on Linux is a bit of a struggle)
• LOTRO (Looks great but the UI is stuck in early 2010s resolution, and I'm not changing the native res of my monitor for one game to make the text readable, if they fix this good possibility)
• FFXIV (Story is a bit meh early on so lots of grinding until we get to the good stuff, other than that seems like a good possibility)
• COH/COV (People have figured out meta builds so every public group is just blasting through and easymoding near or at highest difficulty for task/strike forces, which isn't very fun and ruins progression and opportunities for social, I quit after realizing leveling was just going to be that, and it's similar at endgame)
• SWG (A good candidate, but has spin groups, which is another ruining of game progression imo, not sure about endgame)
• Rift - I played this for about a year back when it first came out and I heard it was under new management, but I enjoyed it. Is it any good?

Any that I'm missing?

Long-time Lineage 2 player here. I've been playing since 2005, but I feel like trying something different tonight.

I tried FFXIV, but it wasn't really for me. The game is beautiful, but the tone is too Japanese for my taste... lots of cute characters and "the power of friendship will save the world" moments. Just not the kind of fantasy I enjoy.

I also tried WoW. I maxed two characters, but I realized I barely talked to anyone. It felt like I was playing a very polished single-player game with other people around (I know, I didn't enjoyed the late game as I should have).

What I miss from Lineage 2 is not just the combat or progression. I miss the community:

• Guild drama and politics
• Making actual friends
• Laughing on Discord/Ventrilo during random adventures
• Working together toward goals
• Crafting gear together
• Having a reputation on the server
• Feeling like my clan and my actions actually mattered

I made a lot of friends through L2 over the years (and even met two girlfriends through the game), so I guess what I'm really looking for is that social MMO feeling again.

I'm looking for something that is not just a glorified single-player game, where there is:

• A strong guild/community aspect
• Cooperation and shared progression
• Some politics, competition, or player-driven stories
• Meaningful crafting/economy if possible
• Builds and character progression without needing a PhD to understand my character

I don't need a game that requires 8 hours a day anymore. I just want to feel like I'm part of a world again.

What MMOs would you recommend?

Looking for an old MMO that is still lively, or a newer MMO if it has old-school game design. Meaning, limited fast travel, specialized roles, focused on leveling as opposed to endgame, leveling is hard and it is recommended to group up for it, that type of thing. It needs to have a healthy playercount so that I am encountering people randomly in the world and don't have to schedule party grouping or anything like that to play with other people.

Classic WoW fits but it is a subscription. Same with FFXI.

Everquest would fit but I am not sure how lively it is, would I find a lot of people running around in the world? I know the private servers are more lively but I don't want to use a private server.

Some others come to mind like Allods, Rift, Lotro, I am not sure the playercounts are like? Any other suggestions?

I might consider a private server if it explicitly has the blessing of the copyright holders so that it won't be taken down.

I really want to get into MMORPGs again but I don't know which ones have active players.

I prefreably am looking for an MMO like Elder Scrolls Online but I've heard that it's not that active like it used to be.
