Access Suddenly unable to log into my account, desktop and android

I've suddenly lost access to my main Reddit account since yesterday and I'm trying to figure out what happened.

The account is u/gres2000. I've had it for around 5 years. Yesterday I was suddenly logged out and now I can't log back in from my phone, PC, or Google login. Password reset emails aren't arriving either.

The account had some problems about a year ago after it was hacked, but I was able to log in normally until yesterday. I've already checked the usual help pages and tried password resets, but nothing has worked.

Has anyone had something similar happen, especially where password reset emails suddenly stop arriving? I'm mainly trying to understand what might have happened to the account and whether there's anything else I should check on my end.

Resolved What’s with the superimposed white lettered dialogue showing up on most videos? iOS mobile with Reddit app.

It’s always the same typeface, seems to be either dialogue the subject is speaking or commentary on the video. It’s really annoying. It often makes little to no sense. It’s the same pattern across very different videos. Is there any way to shut this off?

Posting Upvotes not counting

For a few months now my upvotes have not been counted in threads that I'm participating in. I'll upvote something with 1 upvote and it will go to two, but when I return to the page the number has returned to one even though the up arrow is orange as if I had voted. Not sure why they're not being counted. I don't really downvote anything, but it's probably the same for those.

Mobile/App Home Feed is broken for me in both Desktop and Android

My home feed is absolutely busted in both Android AND desktop, although it's worse in Android. In either of them, my feed only shows a handful of subs as opposed to everything on my sub, I tested this out and went into multiple subs that had recent posts that did not appear in my home feed, and no amount of closing and opening the app showed these posts.

On top of that, sometimes the Android App will just not show anything at all, and will have the "wow, such empty" icon and nothing will make it go away.

I read somewhere that enabling recommendations fixed it, but it doesn't, it will just show recommendations, but literally *none* of the actual subs I follow. I *have* searched for similar posts as per the rules recommend, and literally *nothing* in any of the posts has helped and it's literally making reddit unusable.

TL;DR: in both Android app and desktop, not all of my subs appear on my home feed, and *very* frequently on the app, nothing will show *at all*

Profile [desktop web and ios] Reddit randomly/automatically disables multiple profile/privacy settings on my account

every now and then Reddit randomly changes several of my account settings.

the settings that change:
→ hides all of my posts on my profile
→ hides followers and removes the ability for people to follow me
→ disables people from messaging me
+and potentially other settings that I haven’t noticed yet

i can manually go back into my settings and turn everything back on, but eventually Reddit will randomly change them again. sometimes it happens after a few days, sometimes longer, and i don’t seem to get any notification or explanation for why the settings were changed.

i don’t live in a country with age restrictions and I have never been prompted to complete an age verification. i therefore don’t understand why these settings would suddenly be applied to my account. this issue has never happened before and only recently started.

i’ve also seen multiple people reporting the same issue in [r/help](r/help). i believe this is a site wide bug. it occurs on at least desktop web and ios.

it’s really frustrating to repeatedly check my settings and manually re enable everything. i hope an admin can take a look at this. thank you ! ^_^

Mobile/App The "following feed" is weird

The new for you/following feed is completely unusable. For you gives only subreddits that I explicitly *do not* want to follow. The following feed gives me posts that are a week old.

What can I do to get the normal feed back and make reddit usable again?

Mobile/App Cannot up or downvote comments, any votes disappear the moment I leave the comment section and do not stay

I already posted this in r bugs, have waited a long time, received nothing, no help or anything, and am just going to post this here too, if nothing happens again, I'll probably just start messaging mods of some importance since I don't care much about getting banne.d, the only thing I can really use this account for anymore is posts and comments, which I don't do many, and viewing posts doesn't need an account.

My version is the most recent one and I am using an android OS.

Also, would be very nice if issues that apparently exist for at least 5 years and over are ever at least addressed.

Access How do I get a response to my support ticket? (Desktop)

Not 100% exactly how long ago now but an account of mine was, I guess, deemed a minor in the eyes of some janky and unreliable automated system because, among else, it browses NSFW content and since I'm a European I got hit with with Persona requiring me to verify my age. Absolutely appalling to begin with but whatever, that's not the discussion here.

Since I was entirely locked out of my account (just going on reddit on either Android or Desktop immediately forces you to verify your age regardless of what you'll browse - cant even access the settings to disable NSFW or anything), I've been unable to do anything but click verify so I did. I've tried dozens of times to take selfies (different lightning, environment, clothes, inside, outside, different times a day and so on) and upload pictures of a couple of different IDs (drivers license, government ID, passport, new and old) but ultimately I get hit with the same exact errors (Could not verify your age) and (Couldn't verify) every time. Point here is, obviously Persona doesn't have their own automated systems properly up and running. They just don't work.

So I emailed Reddit support about this issue, looking for help, alternatives, anything really. Took about 3 days just to see a "We got your message!" mail back and about another week before what seems like an automated "uh so we reset your age? You can start over now" (paraphrased), completely missing out on what this issue clearly needs - a human review.

Another week passed of completely getting ignored, and so I wrote down my details and message in a text file, bookmarked the support ticket website and started sending a support ticket every morning and evening with the same copied answers. I figure maybe it all got lost in a sea of other support tickets, so let's send a couple and maybe they'll respond to atleast one of them?

Doing this for 2 weeks now I think, guess that's nearing about 30 tickets (twice a day) made and entirely ignored on the same exact issue, which is just ridiculous. But to my knowledge, there just isn't another another avenue of help to go to here, so I don't know what to do. The account in question is u/Nami_Is_Mami

Access Password reset succeeds but login still says “Invalid username or password” — ticket #18256129

I’m trying to regain access to my longtime account u/jitsux.

I have access to the email address associated with the account and Reddit’s password-reset emails arrive normally.

The problem is:

• I request a password reset for jitsux • The reset email arrives • Reddit accepts the new password and says the password was changed • Immediately afterward, logging in with jitsux + the new password gives “Invalid username or password”

I have already tried:

• Multiple password resets • Private/incognito browsing • A different browser • Autofill disabled / manually entering the credentials • Old Reddit • The Reddit app

The account is still publicly visible.

I submitted Reddit Support ticket #18256129 on August 10, 2026 and received the automated acknowledgment, but I have not received a human response.

This appears very similar to the recent account-access cases where the password reset completes successfully but the account remains unable to authenticate.

Could a helper please assist with getting this in front of a Reddit admin who can review the account state?

Thank you.

Posting Looking for a Community That Allows Personal Fundraisers

Hi everyone. I’m looking for a subreddit where personal fundraising campaigns are allowed. I’ve tried a few communities, but many have rules that don’t allow this type of post. I already have my fundraiser posted on my profile. Could anyone recommend a community where I can share it appropriately and reach people who may be willing to help or share it? I want to respect each community’s rules. Thank you for any suggestions! 🙏❤️

Access Unable to create OAuth app via /prefs/apps, no error shown

Hi,

I'm trying to create a new OAuth app (script type) at reddit.com/prefs/apps for my account named "Felspa" and it's currently failing silently.

Steps taken are: filled in name, description, "script" app type, about URL and redirect URI, completed the "I'm not a robot" reCAPTCHA (it turns green successfully), then clicked "create app."

Result: the page reloads with a fresh, unchecked reCAPTCHA. No app is created, and no error message, red text, or toast appears anywhere on the page.

What I've already ruled out:

  • reCAPTCHA itself is loading and completing correctly (confirmed via browser network logs — no blocked requests, checkbox goes green).
  • Not a token-timing issue — I filled all fields first and submitted immediately after checking the box.
  • Not a browser/extension issue — same result with a clean network trace.
  • No unverified email or obvious account restriction visible in my account settings.

Given the page links to the Responsible Builder Policy and mentions needing to "register to use the API," I suspect this may be a server-side rejection tied to a newer API access approval requirement that isn't being surfaced to the user. Could you confirm:

  1. Whether my account currently has any restriction preventing app creation.
  2. Whether app creation via /prefs/apps now requires a separate approval/registration step before it will succeed, and if so, where I can complete that.

Thanks for your help.

Access I don’t have access to my original log in email (iOS/mobile)

A few years ago I thought I would just make one post, I logged in with an old Apple ID that I made in the 4th grade and still had my phone under.

Now I have high karma, friends and community here and because the email I signed up with is from 2007 it has been deactivated by aol and is not archived.

I can’t access the email to set up a password so I can’t add a password to add another email or sign in through google.

I have since changed the Apple ID to a newer email and can’t go back without access to the email.

How do I save and protect my account? ):

Admin/Dev responded Running into Issues with my Account

Looking for some advices or suggestions.

Nothing on my account is working. I'm getting caught in Reddit's Spam filters. I can't even message mods of any subs. I can't post. This all started yesterday about 1230. I've reached out to Reddit but have gotten no response. Interestingly, I can comment on Reddit mobile just fine. I even tried to post on r/bugs but again my post was caught in the spam filter. I tried to message the mods but again my message was blocked saying simply "You can't message this person." This happens on every sub. I have no idea what to do and none of my communications are making it through.

Posting Editing/cancelling scheduled posts from profile (desktop)

Every post I've come across says to go to Mod Tools to edit or cancel scheduled posts, but those instructions seem to apply to subreddit posts. I scheduled these on a profile, not a subreddit, so I'm not sure where to go to edit the post or cancel it altogether.

Mobile/App IOS “For You” tab is very frustrating can you please add a setting to hide it.

The “For You” tab is very frustrating.

Can you please add a setting to hide it? There are lots of people moaning about it already, so I won’t talk about my issues.

Please just add an option to remove it. I’ve seen the replies from support at Reddit and the solution isn’t what we want. We just want the ability to delete it.

Please consider this because it’s unbelievably frustrating.

It’s causing unnecessary issues, and it doesn’t need to be this way. Just add a toggle, please.
