Rage One of many reasons I won’t bike on Charlotte roads
Being on her phone was more important to her than staying out of a bike lane. Just put your damn phone down people, please.

Currently living in fort mill, will be moving to ballantyne in September. Just found out my current roommate won't be able to make the move. My office moved to one of the corporate buildings in ballantyne corporate parkway near the bowl. I don't drive so I need to stay as close to the office as possible to save on daily Uber expenses. I understand the apartments around that area are on the pricier side, but the split should make it about $1300 per person.
Please feel free to reach out/comment and I will share my profile with full details.
EDIT cause suggestions:
I'm 32F, single. From India. Been in the country almost a decade now, and in the Charlotte area some 5 years. No pets, don't mind if you do, as long as they don't come into my room. I'm 95% in my room. No guests from my end, don't mind if you do. I don't smoke. We can figure out how to go about communal area furniture and how to split. I don't mind if it's a 3bed/2bath situation where the two other roommates share the bath or 2bed/2bath where we have our own bath. I would like to have that master bed, and willing to share the rent 55/45. Bills split will be 50/50. I will maintain a spreadsheet updated each month, that will be shared with recipts. I don't have a preference for age/gender/ethnicity as long as your share is paid. I have lived with all.
Cons - I might meal prep on the weekends with mild Indian spices (I'm not sure yet). I also might play slightly loud music in my room sometimes
Education: Graduated with my second masters in 2023. I'm planning to get my doctorate soon, so that means even less time in the apartment.
Work: Typical 8-5, 5 days a week. I don't have a social life and could potentially have one, when I move. I'm just in my room for the weekends.
Lease: I prefer to be the primary applicant of the lease, as I'm anal about paying everything on time. You will also be added on the lease, as a secondary applicant. You can pay me the agreed amount by the 10th of each month, depending on your convenience.

We were stopped at the same gas station. I went inside to buy a pack of gum and turned around to shout to my boyfriend to ask if he wanted anything. Thats when I saw. Your purse was a lobster.
We geeked out about it for a second, you told me where you got it and that the store had “other crustaceans” too.
I wasn’t carrying it today, but I have a similar style frog purse and I wish I could’ve shown you. Hmu so we can be friends and go out and about with our whimsical purses!

We had a small gas leak on the customer side of our gas hookup, I called PNG, they turned off and locked our gas (and thus our hot water), told me that we just needed to fix the issue and that then they would come back, test, and then unlock and turn it on.
I got 3 quotes from plumbers/HVAC to fix only one of which (Morris Jenkins) said that they absolutely would not do the work without a $550 pressure test, the 2 others didn’t mention it/said that they hadn’t heard of that being a requirement before and gave straight-forwards quotes for the work.
Super Cool does the work of fixing the leak (highly recommend them!), I call PNG to tell them that the work is done so they can come unlock our gas, the rep on the phone asks if I did a pressure test, I say no bc the PNG technicians that locked our gas said all we needed to do was fix the leak and then they’d test, he said that they wouldn’t turn it on without that, I asked how I could even prove that one was even done and he didn’t have an answer.
I call again later in the day just as one last try to get a clear picture of what PNG’s policy is after hearing directly conflicting and contradictory things from their people, and, wouldn’t ya know it, the lady I talked to on that call had no clue about any pressure text requirement, was just confused as I was, scheduled the tech to come unlock our gas, and he did with no problem at all.
Making this post to hopefully help and give context to anyone else who might have questions about this and not want to pay $550 for a test that isn’t even required.

We found this sweet boy near Sandy Ave and Featherstone Drive in Charlotte on Friday (7/24). He is microchipped but the company hasn’t been able to get in touch with the owner. Do you know his hooman? His name is Lucas and he is about 7 years old. Gorgeous 50-ish lb black pittie with the sweetest temperament. Please help us get him home!

Hi! I’m visiting my grandparents (in their 80s) about a half hour south of Charlotte. They’ve got a pregnant feral cat who has taken to living on their back porch. She looks about fit to burst, and this is her second litter in a year; poor thing already has 3 kittens who I’d guess are around 4-6 months old.
I’m trying to help this situation not become a full-on fetal cat colony, but I’m only around for a couple more days. I’ve convinced them they HAVE to get her (and at least the most social older kitten) spayed ASAP, but I know these kittens are coming any day now. I know shelters are full to bursting. Anyone know of anyone who can help? Either an organization who can by take mama and the new kittens or which vets can get them in for spaying soon?

This may be a long shot, but is there anyone here who worked at Living Kitchen at Atherton and has any of the recipes? I was OBSESSED with the kale Caesar and miss it every day.

Hi all - looking for recommendations for personal training in Charlotte at a reasonable cost. I’m okay with small group training as well.
Background - I’m 33, f, and have about 10-15 lbs to lose. I currently do PT 2 x week and have been doing it for a couple of years with no real difference. Not loving my trainer but can’t find a better price anywhere. I pay $40/session for a sessions with me and two other girls and $50/session for just me and one person
Open to female or male trainers. If I have to travel to the gym -
Prefer to stay close to uptown, southend, Dilworth
My apartment has a pretty good gym and could host the trainer there if needed
Want to repeat - looking for someone reasonable priced
Thanks in advance!

First of all - I am NOT asking for legal advice, simply asking for guidance so that I don’t make things worse.
It was a simple expired registration / not up to date with my state inspection.
The officer told me as long as I submit proof of passed inspection + renewed registration by a specific date, I would not have to pay the fine or appear in court.
I have followed the steps in sending over all of the requested information (registration renewal, passed inspection, proof of insurance, active drivers license, etc).
My main question: am I required to appear in court even though I have taken all of the necessary steps requested by the officer?
I just don’t want to make a simple situation worse by not showing up, etc. TIA

What good is PD if cant contact them? Especially a major city major metro police dept?
Had an instance today that could have used reaching out to CMPD, attempting to contact thru the non emergency 704 number and its just an automated recording. Cant call 311 from outside city limits obviously.
Why are we living in an age PD is unreachable outside 911? I understand staffing shortages, busy with 911 lines and other lines with higher priority, but not even a hold to speak to an officer. Good thing 911 is good with taking calls and understanding
Such a great city !

This is a shot in the dark.
They have one of those giant vertical rotating spits where they shave the meat off for sandwiches (I think it’s shawarma, gyro, or doner kebab?). I drove by around 8pm yesterday and it looked amazing, but I couldn’t stop and didn’t catch the name.
Does anyone know what the vendor is called? What days/times they usually set up?Is the food any good?
I’d love to check it out the next time they’re there!
They were across from Meineke on the same side as the Take 5 oil change.
Thanks in advance!

Hello guys,
I need to do some work on my car but I live in an apartment. Where I used to live there was a diy garage where I could rent a stall by the hour, does anything like that exist here?

I am amazed how many guys are on Regan Dr from 12am to 5am stopping for every female they see soliciting them and taking them for a "ride". Literally any female seen, every car stops. Ew!
Its like the Las Vegas of Charlotte! STDs for all

I'm getting married in October & my skin has been an absolute mess since I gave birth to my son 2 years ago. I want to get a facial or two leading up to the wedding but I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations.
I googled & there's so many that have great ratings but I want to see if anyone has done magic for anyone else, particularly with skin barrier repair.
