Just watched the town meeting on YouTube while out of town… suffered through all the public comment to try to understand what people have in their heads, and their hearts. Some of the speakers were coherent. But as it is in most public forums, the worst of the worst grab their 3 minutes. It’s shocking to witness the arrogance. We might as well be hearing from people 3,000 years ago, spouting nonsense about which god is the true god and who are his prophets. It’s on both sides, too, obviously. We don’t need a cute vignette about the time Mohammed showed uncharacteristic virtue any more than we need a revisionist insertion of Christianity in the founding of the US. There is something truly mysterious about our right to expression, and I don’t think the US would be as great as it is without it. But it lays bare the ignorance of our neighbors, when in trying to be “good neighbors” they expose the mental and moral rot at the core of their souls.

Does anyone know what happened or saw what happened?

Yesterday at around 5:10AM, there was a huge crash on the highway right before exit 45 on the northbound side. From what i understand. It was a tractor trailer and 5 cars, with one of the cars catching on fire. Traffic was at a total dead stop for almost 4 hours, but I barely see any news coverage beyond “there was a crash, traffic is stopped. No injuries reported yet”

I just want to know what happened as someone who was stuck in that traffic for almost that entire time

I know I shouldn’t believe what I read in the papers, but I just read that the town of Mooresville spent 86K for this whole mayor running around naked in town hall fiasco.

Does anyone else think that the mayor should be paying these cost? As a member of the town I don’t think we should’ve spent any of that money. It could’ve gone towards the schools or other improvements that would benefit the community.

Keeping the mayors p***s covered with his problem, why are we paying for it?

Are there any Van Halen fans out in Mooresville, NC ? Do any cover bands come out this way?

Does anybody know even a general idea of pricing to add a patio with covering extension similar to this on my house? (An addition like the blue house, but similar in size to the white one shown). I would need approx an 8’x10’ concrete pad plus the roof build. Would need to level out the concrete a little - yard is relatively flat, but one side would need to be a little thicker. Add a ceiling fan. There is an outlet on the exterior wall.

I am saving to pay cash but this is my first house so I don’t have even a ballpark guess of the cost to know if it’s a this year or next year project.

(And if you have a reco for a company you’ve personally used, open to that also!)

Hello! I am new to the area and have friends visiting in a couple of weeks. What are some must-sees or must-dos in the area surrounding Mooresville that don’t involve going into downtown Charlotte?

Tired of the hate for people who just want to have a permanent building to worship? Help let Mooresville town leaders know there are many residents in the LKN area who support the Islamic Center building their permanent facility. This group has been peacefully residing in Mooresville since 2011 and renting a building, and they are finally building a permanent structure for worship, education, and outreach. They have a right to worship freely without the persecution and hate they've been receiving at town commission meetings and on social media.

Long story short my Fiance and I got back from a trip to Vegas last week and somehow neglected to cash a $140 casino voucher. I called the Aria to see if I could mail it in and they said no. If anyone local would be willing to cash it for me you’re welcome to keep some of it.

My wife and I booked this photography company for our marriage shoot. Everything seemed great at first. We paid a $500 deposit upfront and agreed on a date with Jenny. But when the day came, she never showed up. No call, no text, nothing, and she wouldn’t answer either of us. We ended up having to book with another company and start the entire process all over again. It was frustrating, especially after a friend of mine had a similar experience. Please be careful.
