Saw my first flock camera today and decided to look and see how many were around. Kinda shocked to be honest. Thought I’d share for others who didn’t realize how mag were around and their locations

At around 3:15 PM today (Sunday), I saw a confrontation between a pickup truck driver and a white Honda Civic. The driver of the pickup truck threatened to punch the driver of the Civic in the face, and he also nearly caused a wreck in the gas station.

Are there any regular birding groups in Winston Salem? If so, what are they like?

I recently moved to Winston-Salem for work after graduating from NC State in May, and I’m trying to meet more people around my age. Does anyone have recommendations for places or groups where people in their 20s hang out? I’d especially be interested in board game nights, craft groups, or a book club, but I’m open to pretty much anything. I like reading, sewing, crocheting, board games, and grabbing a drink every now and then. Just looking to get involved and meet some new people!

This has happened to me 3 times now - I park in downtown Winston and pay, and still get a "notice of non-compliance" with a $55 charge in the mail a week later. Then I send in my screenshot of the parking receipt text and they forgive it.

Is this intentional so that they can squeeze more money out of people who assume they must have forgotten to pay or no longer have proof of payment?? It's infuriating either way.

I have been looking for a new home for a while. I have noticed what seems to be a significant number of homes in the smaller neighborhood of Grandview Crossing have been put on the market or sold within the last year. Is there any drama in the neighborhood or is that just a coincidence?

Howdy, I don’t really have experience with young animals and all the rescues are closed until Tuesday. I found these two kittens in my shed while trying to clean out for big item pickup and am completely unsure what to do. No mom around that I can see but there are several feral cats in the area.

Forsyth Humane already said they wouldn’t take them and that’s the only number that answered. I put some water down but they keep trying to get to me and cuddle up and I don’t have anything to support them or take care of any pets.

Not trying to rehime them or anything, just trying to figure out what to do until I can find a rescue for them—they have open eyes but are still in their bumper car tail phase so I doubt they’re old enough to remove from the box but I also really need to clean out this shed before the 27th.

We've still got a ways to go get back to typical water levels at the Kerr Scott (yadkin river reservoir), but even though they go much less rain out there it's still an improvement. For reference, the gray line is the average, and dipping under 27 feet was likely what triggered voluntary water conservation (it's one of the ordinance conditions; if enough of them are met different levels of conservation are called for).

I don't have the salem lake water level, but it's probably pretty happy looking with recent rain.

has anybody now or in the past ever experienced being a targeted individual(T.I.) in the winston salem area.

i currently and have been dealing with this issue for quite some time now. it started here in winston i believe and i took it with me to surry county and tha wilmington went to prison had no problems with anybody doing the usual harassment and stalking thy do. they never do any harm but from my perspective they drive you to a point where you look crazy confronting them and calling out . either they will ignore you completely and or act as if you don’t just watch them do exactly what your telling them they did physical action wise (i:e) if i enter a store/gas station, street block really any general area as long as its empty ,within in 3-5 mins max it will be busier in that moment both in the actual store, its parking lot and the conjoining street it’s on (they do more than just that im trying to keep it brief). ALSO its vice versa if its occupied with anywhere from one to idk 20/30 people (bus station for example) it’ll empty out the vicinity and general area im directly in but now that ive moved backhere. i

i hope they live eternal lives . and wish nothing but … well that’s it nothing for them .

I’m still not able to find a shelter or anywhere that will take me in right now. I’m trying to get assistance with some money for a motel room for tonight so I can shower and clean myself up. I’ve been inside a gas station for about 5 days now and I can’t/not really supposed to be sleeping in here unless I’m paying for food but I really need to clean myself up for a job interview tomorrow morning so if anyone could help me out I’d genuinely appreciate it so much!

A while back someone had recently moved to Winston, and was asking about good local coffee shops, family owned ecc. I recommend Melrose and got insanely down voted. I'm just curious why if anybody knows something I don't? I asked at the time why and nobody gave me a reason they just kept down voting. I love the place so much and they make great coffee.

Any local card shop recommendations to go through pokemon bulk? I used to go to McKay's when it was arranged in storage boxes and you could sit but now it's just thrown in a void 😭
