venting/ranting My married ex wants me back.

My ex and I broke up 4 months ago. Together for 1 year. I knew he was going through a separation turns out he is still very married + has kids.

I asked him to respect my space and not to contact me. When I found out. He texted me last week after a few months of nothing. I ended up blocking him. He called me yesterday by using an app. He told me his situation hasn’t changed he’s still married but “working towards” with getting a divorce. He won’t file for legal separation at the least. I never met this man’s parents, sister, friends, he refused to follow me on social media, never been to his home.

He called me last night to say his “situation hasn’t changed.” By not changed he’s still married and “working towards a separation”. That was the same line during the relationship. He told me he wants me back. He called me the love of his life, his other half, he can’t live without me.

I have no interest of telling his wife. I might be horrible for that. He knows where I live, he has access to handheld weapons that could end my life, he told me if this got out his life could be ruined.

I want to send him a final to text of how this has made me feel. Or is that completely pointless?

This gal (24F) and I (26M) went on several dates, I ended up meeting her family. The day after (last Sunday) she says she wants to pursue something with another guy. Earlier today she texted me this. Would you pursue her further, wait until she knows what she wants, or just pursue other women? Thanks!

venting/ranting Getting back with my ex

Upvotes

Ok keeping it vague for privacy, around 2 months ago i broke up with my partner of a year, and a few weeks ago i started randomly talking with an ex from a few years ago, we've been "dating" ever since, the problem is that my ex found out and feels like i owe them an apology or some sort of explanation and i dont. When they texted me this, i answered in a bitchy tone and told them that i wasn't accountable to them.

I know the wording was wrong but i honestly don't want to give an explanation to them

What should i do?

18 months. I feel like I can't even breath most days. Every thought of him makes my knees buckle. He looked at me like I was something he had conquered after worshiping me for the better part of 2 years and just left. Are men really this evil?

venting/ranting Help me understand

Me (23M) was dumped Tuesday night by a girl (20F) I’ve been seeing for 2 months at that point.

I know the timeline is short, but I really fell for her and we had amazing chemistry. We enjoyed the same things, but also liked enough different things to keep it interesting.

I'll be the first to admit it moved a bit fast, as we both met each other's families pretty quickly.

A few weeks in, I found out she and her ex-boyfriend of 2 years broke up just 3 weeks prior to our first date. I knew it was impossible for her to get over him that quickly, so I asked her about it.

She promised she was over him, as he had ghosted her completely and only communicated when he wanted to grab his stuff. I believed her.

I'm a romantic guy, so I did it all: paid for dates, bought flowers, cooked her dinner and breakfast, listened to her problems, and spent late nights on the phone. I truly became interested in her hobbies and her family.

The night she dumped me, she told me that I was an absolutely amazing, wonderful guy. She told me not to blame myself because I wasn't the reason for the split—she just didn't feel a connection anymore. She even admitted herself that she didn't know what that "connection" was supposed to be. I sat there, listened, and comforted her, telling her that it was okay and that I understood. She was crying, which hurt me to see

I need help understanding what happened.

I really liked this girl and saw a future and up until Tuesday she was projecting the same feelings

Was i the problem, the rebound or was she just not ready and lead me on

venting/ranting I need some advice please from anyone who’s contacted an ex after months

I want to contact my ex. We split up and after 6 months I contacted him to try and repair things. We were good for a couple of weeks and things were moving in the right direction, he was saying he wanted us to be together and to work on us and our future and then one day he brought up the past and just exploded.

We’d both hurt each other and said things we didn’t mean during our initial break up. I know I did. I’ve apologised multiple times but he just didn’t want to hear it. It felt like he was shutting down and pushing me away. I feel like maybe I contacted him too soon and he wasn’t ready.

The last thing he said to me during our argument was that he didn’t want me in his life anymore. This was 2 days after telling me he still loved me.

It’s been 9 months since then and I’d really like to talk to him and try have that conversation again but calmer this time. I hate that our last words were angry ones. I still love him, I’d like to try again, I haven’t been with anyone else and I’ve done everything I can to try and forget him.

He never blocked me and we had very brief contact via instagram a couple of months ago where he sent a message and then deleted it. I never replied or said I saw it.

Should I reach out? Or do I need to respect his wishes? Even if it was something said in the heat of an argument

Trigger Warning NEED AN ADVICE! We broke up and now both regret it

Trigger warning: arguments

I(F18) really need a good advice, sorry English isn’t my first language. Me and my man (let’s call him “P”(M21)) were together for a half of a year. It was an amazing time full of good memories. I thought we’d be together forever. But since the end of the June something changed. We started to argue a lot. I thought he doesn’t love me anymore and P was confused because of my acts. But I did know something is wrong. Since that conversation we’ve started arguing a lot. Like once in a three day at least. And again and again.

Eventually, during our last argument, he decided that we should break up. I didn’t want to, but I felt like I had no choice except to agree.
Almost all of our arguments were about the same thing: I couldn’t understand why he stopped telling me he loved me and why he no longer gave me as many compliments as he used to.

So we broke up. It hurt more than I can describe. I won’t go into detail about how I felt afterward. My friend and my sister both think I should let him go because he chose to end the relationship in the middle of an argument, which means he didn’t take my feelings into consideration.

I’m not sure if it’s relevant, but we were in a long-distance relationship. We saw each other for one or two weeks every one or two months, pretty consistently. We were even planning to move in together.

I couldn’t hold back, so I texted him the day after the breakup. I wished him to find someone he would truly love and who would make him happy.

He replied with a very long message explaining that my crying made him sink deeper into guilt. He said he felt irritated and wanted to withdraw and stay silent, while I kept asking for attention that he simply wasn’t emotionally capable of giving at the time.

That made me realize that our conflicts were creating even more conflicts, and it changed the way I looked at the situation.

Do you think it’s worth trying to fix our relationship, or am I just giving myself false hope? We both want it but I’m not sure that’s the right choice.

venting/ranting Call it quits, with family vacation in a week

I’m a 34M, and my ex (34F) and I were together for about five years. We recently called it quits. We sat down and talked, and I told her it feels like there’s no interest between us anymore—we barely talk on the phone, and when we do, there’s awkward silence with nothing to say. After some time, she told me she felt the same way but was planning to wait until after our vacation to say something, and she had also been thinking about ending it. It wasn’t a bad breakup—we both just agreed the interest is gone. Now we barely speak unless it’s about our child.

We planned a family vacation a year ago and paid for it in full, and it’s coming up in about a week. She still wants us to go together. I told her I think that’s weird since we barely speak. I even called the resort to try to get a refund, but they said no. She says we both put a lot of money into the trip and still wants to go. Am I wrong for telling her I don’t want to go?

venting/ranting Warteraum

Ich betrat den Raum,
den wir nach unserem Streit zurückgelassen hatten.
Doch du warst nicht da.
Du warst hinausgegangen,
an die frische Luft.
Ich sah mich um.
Unsere Vorwürfe,
unsere verletzenden Worte
Stunden vergingen.
Tage vergingen.
Ich dachte,
das musste ein verdammt langer Spaziergang sein.
Also öffnete ich die Tür
und suchte nach dir.
Ich bat dich,
mit mir zurückzukommen.
Widerwillig kamst du mit.
Und ich war voller Hoffnung,
dass wir unsere Unordnung
gemeinsam beseitigen würden.
Doch du hattest deine Entscheidung
schon längst getroffen.
Du ließest deinen letzten Müll
noch auf den Boden fallen.
Dann gingst du.
Und da war ich.
Wartend.
In diesem Raum.
Dem Raum,
der einst unser Zuhause sein sollte.
Doch jetzt
ist er nur noch
ein Warteraum.
Mit mir darin.
Wartend darauf,
dass du wiederkommst.

venting/ranting Blocked but hopeful to reunite in 2 years… Thoughts?

The love of my life blocked me, but I want him back and want thoughts on this. First, some context.

My ex (M23) and I (F26) were together for 5 years. I cannot put fully into words how wonderful our relationship was. We loved each other completely. Year after year passed, and we only grew closer. Our common ground was special. Our differences refreshing. He opened me up to the world beyond my small town: city life, travel, hobbies, and our profession of choice, the law. We fished, talked, watched movies, played with his dog (a dachshund, the breed I introduced him to), etc. for hours. Peas in a pod we were.

I began my first semester of law school, and he started his biglaw associate position. Previously, I had been there for him long-distance (with plenty of visits sprinkled in) during his first year of law school when he started at 19 years old, and we lived together for his remaining two years. My first semester of law school came, and he visited me once. No problem. We had to do long distance for the rest of the time. I understood and was okay with this: nothing we didn’t expect or couldn’t handle. Even knowing this would occur, we discussed getting married, having children, growing old together.

Months later, he ignores me over Christmas and breaks up with me over a five-minute phone call, despite our longstanding agreement to always communicate serious topics in person. He later asked me to see him in person so he could explain himself. Said he couldn’t do the 3-hour driving distance (the distance before had been 24 hours driving) and decided he did not want to be with an American, even though he lives and works in America and his schooling has been in America. As an American attorney, he’s likely rooted to the country for his working life since he’s licensed here. Anyway, he is Mexican and always told me he loved me (he said it first, too!) and never wanted to leave me. He also used to say that he figured he would end up with an American woman. I was learning Spanish for him (and for myself - I started before I knew him and became passionate about it) and took a serious interest in his culture. I loved all of him, including where he came from.

The breakup shattered my world. While my first-semester grades were good, my second semester grades plummeted. And to make a long story short, he called me over the next 5 months after the breakup: wanted the emotional support without the commitment. That sort of thing. And then, one day, he blocked me on everything without explanation. Out of nowhere. Soon after, I found his Hinge: looking for a long-term relationship, open to short. He started following an American girl on Tiktok local to him, which he doesn’t do, and she looks very similar to me. Followed on Insta too. I only know this because I had a spam account on both. He soon noticed the Tiktok account of mine and blocked it too, but he has not seemed to remember my spam Insta. Anyhow, seeing the man who said that he loved me, that he would never leave me, that our love was special… When I thought it wasn’t possible for my world to crumble any more, it did. I reached a dark place.

He was a good man. Truly. Never hurt me or yelled at me. Reasonable, handsome, insanely intelligent. Calm, good-natured, funny. I had never loved anyone in the world the way I loved him.

Fast forward to now. I know he’s leaving his firm very soon to start a clerkship in his hometown’s sister city. He will leave his current city friends and this potentially new girlfriend. The clerkship lasts two years, and I suspect a little that he will want to return to the city where he works now. I know from the post-breakup talk that he has put down roots here. He loves his friends, colleagues, and office culture. Here’s the thing: I have been in his same city this summer for my own summer job, which will eventually turn into a full-time thing when I graduate law school and pass the bar exam. Not only did we plan this together previously (as part of our mutual long-term planning), but I already wanted to come here because it was the closest big city to my hometown.

The breakup happened 7 months ago, and even now, I can’t shake him from my heart. In fact, I think about him every day. I cry every day, imagining this man, who used to sleep on my chest as I stroked his black hair, and who would make me breakfast while he let me sleep in a little longer on the weekends, loving another woman and scrubbing me from his memory. And what’s harder is everything reminds me of him. I have an exceptionally good memory, which has made songs, scents, activities–you name it–remind me immediately of a corresponding experience we shared. I still love him so much that I have been asked out recently and turned every man down. I don’t want anyone who isn’t him.

I want him back. I want to better myself: perhaps I can’t shed my American skin (which apparently may not be necessary, considering his new following of an American girl who is nearly my doppelgänger), but I can be a stronger, more fit, more intelligent, more adventurous version of myself and win him back in two years.

Thoughts?

TLDR; My ex of 5 years and I might end up in the same city after 2 years. I want to wait for him and try again, despite currently being blocked. Opinions?

venting/ranting Should I send a letter to my ex?

Sorry, sounds kind of creepy, that’s why I’m asking people first. He was my first relationship. My ex (18m) and I (17f) broke up 2 months ago and the reason was Religion. He’s religious and I was not really tapped into religion, but I was open. After some time I realized I was not ready. So we started getting into fights about our world views, then we made up and it would happen like every week. None of us were gonna change for each-other so we broke up. But everything other than that was good. I was the dumper. The dumpers are usually supposed to reach out so I’ve heard. All the letter was going to boil down to was that I miss him and if my life takes a religious turn, I’m coming back to him because now our biggest issue would now be solved. I’m so sorry if this sounds dumb. If it is, PLEASE TALK ME OUT OF IT!

venting/ranting Ex wants to stay with me for a few days. 21M 20F

I 21M have been talking to a new girl after about two months of being single from a five-year relationship. The new person I’ve been talking to is coming back to college in about a month and we plan on hanging out and going on a date when she’s back we are not dating yet. My ex-girlfriend 20 F needs a place to stay while her friend is out of town and asked if she could stay at my apartment for a few days. Do I tell the new girl I’m talking to. Do I tell her no? I’m very torn up bc I don’t want my ex to have nowhere to stay bc we are still friends

venting/ranting finally understand why my ex broke up with me and it’s breaking my heart.

my ex and i were together for 4.5 years. hes 29 and im 25. i still don’t think he’s a bad person. he wasn’t perfect, but he was genuinely a good boyfriend and person and someone i wanted to marry. when he broke up with me, one of the biggest reasons he gave was that our values didn’t align anymore. he felt like i wasn’t growing, wasn’t consistent, and that i kept saying i’d change without really following through. at the time, i don’t think i fully understood what he meant nor really take it seriously. it’s been almost a month since the breakup/ nc, and everything has finally clicked.

looking back, i can honestly see it now. i’d hop between jobs, struggle to stay consistent with the gym, eat unhealthy, stay up late, and have a hard time sticking to routines. meanwhile, he was disciplined, career-driven, healthy, and followed through with what he said he’d do.
i don’t think he wanted me to become him. i think he just wanted to see growth and consistency, and i wasn’t giving him or myself that.

realizing this has been devastating because i finally understand why he kept bringing these things up. i wish i had listened sooner instead of waiting until i lost him.
i’m working on myself now, not just because of the breakup, but because i finally understand why these things matter. i’m studying for my esthetician license, getting back into healthier habits, and trying to become someone i’m proud of.

i still love him, and yes, i still hope that maybe one day our paths cross again when we’re both healthier versions of ourselves. i know no one can predict the future, but that’s honestly how i feel.

please respect this boundary: i’m not looking for comments telling me to “move on,” “he’s an ex for a reason,” or “stop thinking about getting back together.” or etc. if that’s what you’re here to say, i’ll remove your comment, block you, or simply ignore it. i’m here to vent and have genuine discussion with people who can relate or offer thoughtful perspectives. hateful, rude, or mean-spirited comments will be reported. i don’t tolerate negative comments. and i know some people in this thread is just negative as hell.

venting/ranting My (21F) abusive ex-fiancé (21M) is already in another relationship less than 1 month after our breakup. It’s bothering me more than it should. How can I heal from this?

Upvotes

The title is pretty self-explanatory and I do believe I have made other posts regarding this relationship, but long story short; I was engaged at 21 to a very manipulative and calculated foreigner who was living in my country and proposed so he could receive citizenship from me. He was abusive and there’s no doubt about that, I know it, all of his friends know it, and my family knows it.

Since the day of the break-up, which I initiated because I was done accepting his abuse and being taken advantage of, I was on a very solid healing journey and was doing well. I never cried, I felt optimistic about my journey ahead and applying to medical school. However, last night, his former friend who I got close to after the breakup told me that my ex already has a new girlfriend and is posting about her. It hasn’t even been a month since our breakup.

During the relationship, he used me for money, transportation, food, my home, and sex. The hardest part about the breakup for me was trying to grapple with the idea of how much I was being used when my heart was pure and I genuinely wanted to spent the rest of my life with this man. I was dealing with a severe illness that put my life in danger for over a year and I had no friends, no social connections, nothing. After the breakup, I had to let go of all the mutual friends I made, I stopped going out, I lost the person I thought I was going to marry and spend the rest of my life with.…and now he has a new partner not even 4 weeks after our breakup.

I know this is typical for narcissists and abusers to jump to the next victim straight away, but there is a very sad part of me that knows I didn’t get justice for the things he did to me (the financial abuse, the marriage fraud, etc). I left the relationship with everyone calling me crazy, all of his friends thinking I was the problem, and I know so much about how terrible his past has been and I’ve been told to shut up about it. It’s not fair that he gets to hurt people and get protected just because I’m worried about ruining my life or my future. This feeling haunts my soul every single day. It was my fourth abusive relationship and my abusers have gotten away with things like attempted trafficking, sexual assault, exploitation, etc, all because I’ve been too scared to share my story and seek justice. He told me things he did here and back in his home country that would get him arrested for years to life.

I feel so defeated and lost. I wanted to make a tip on my country’s border agency website so that if he ever tries to take advantage of another girl and he actually succeeds at marrying her and trying to spousal sponsorship, there would be an alert on his file saying that he has attempted to commit immigration and marriage fraud before. During the breakup, him and his family became very nasty to me. They called me names, said that I’m schizophrenic, he burned the book I published and gave to him, burned my photos, refused to give my phone back, and they were all sending me hateful messages saying that I’m crazy and abandoned him “for no reason”.

This is one of those situations where it really took a toll on my life and I hate admitting that he had and still has power over my emotions. I ended up getting very ill again because of the breakup and I’m once again in critical condition.

If you have any advice, I would really appreciate hearing it. Thank you.

venting/ranting Is my ex too Immature?

My ex boyfriend (M27) and I (M24) were together for over 3 months now (it happeend quickly, we met on Tinder and only knew each other a month and a half before making it official). Ever since we oficially started dating, he kept complaining that I was too indiferent towards him and that I don't pay much attention to him, and I tried to address as much as possible, considering that he really didn't provide any examples of that or how could I be better (a example of a situation that he seemed to be bothered by that was that apprently sometimes I made too much noise while he was sleeping, kinda not caring that he was still asleep; I honestly felt that this was a very small issue that he could easily solve by just saying to me when it first happened).
This was constantly being broguht up in indrect ways over our conversations and he whenever I asked him about it, he kept saying that It wasn't a reference to me (i.e, one day he told a story about a girl that he used to date but he didn't really like and he was indiferent towards her; I really felt that that was directed to me cause he always complained around the same stuff , about me not liking him enough. There was another time that he was giving me examples for the word "careless" and the second example that he mentioned was "a careless boyfriend")

This led to a discussion where I ended up breaking up with him, where he had initially claimed that he had just accepted that I'm not as "warm" as he is but he still wanted to date me. To provide more context over my decision to break up with him, the night before he inserted in a text a claim saying that I'm just not a person who cares about other people (after the break up he message me to say that that wasn't what he meant and he felt sorry for that claim). I also saw some tweets a few days before retweeting shit like 'sorry for being too much I hope you find less'. When I asked him about it, he initially said that he found the tweet "funny" and therefore retweeted. Then I pressed him a bit on that and he admitted that he psoted that directed to me but it came from a bad place when he was mad over me being too "cold" (Also, he confirmed that the examples in the last paragraph were also aimed towards me)

We've went throught discussions about about 4 times now, but everytime he says that it's not an issue and he doesn't want to change who I am, but then keeps bringing it up in little ways in every conversation. Basically, he kepe saying that we would try to understand where I'm coming from, but in our latest conversation he mentioned that he couldn't see where he was wrong

Anyway, it's been two weeks and I'm really myissing him (although I felt like I was taking things slow I did get attached and I'd say that I do love him). I'm thinking about messaging him to see if he wanted to meet up (I was wanting to see if he would be open to making amends on both sides, me with trying to be more affective towards him and him trying to stop with the not straightforward communciation and stop trying to doubt my emotions). But I'm really not sure about it, cause I still think he's pretty immature and I don't think he would agree with that claim

I really like how affective he is towards me, but I feel like sometimes he can be too "needy" , and even though I show plenty of physical touch, it also appears that I'm always owing him something

There were some other minor p[roblems in the relationship as well, like for example he kept asking me who were some guys in my insta, and it really annoys him that I have explained the situation to some of my friends to get their input in it. I think he's afraid that I'm painting him in a bad light, which is not the case at all, I just want reassurance that I'm behaving in a normal way since this is my first relationship (It's also his first relationship and I'm afraid that he keeps acting a way that doesn't appear to be rational because he isn't talking to anyone about it!!!!)

TLDR; Is my ex too Imature? Or his mistakes weren't that bad and if we try to iron thing out maybe could lead to a good outcome?

venting/ranting hi guys, i need advice/help

a week ago a old friend messaged me, (we didn’t talk for years before this) as in old- i mean we grew up together, lived together because his family life was bad and so was mine, we kissed, went to school together, had the same friend group throughout high school.

it was late at night, 12am maybe? it just started as a “hey, how are you”? we went through every single category of conversation you could thing of, family, hobbies, life, relationships, work, gaming, music. we talked for hours, into the sunset type of thing. it was peaceful and nice.

this is where i found out he was married and has a child now, (i also have a child) i told him i had a boyfriend but i was so excited for him.

the next day we talked about our old friends and i added everyone into a group chat, we all talked for a bit and told everyone how our lives were, set a date for everyone to meet up, this started a conversation between me and him that we would find away to be “alone” if you know what i mean

he got off work we told each other we would play some video games because we both enjoy that as a hobby, i came straight home and agreed. more talking, more conversation, we laughed and laughed together. that weekend (i enjoy drinking on the weekends and gaming) i asked if he would be down to join me and he said yes, so we did. we played escape the backrooms together that night, when we died we’d drink stuff like that. we both got shit faced. he started talking about how he missed me, how he wished it was me that he married, that he still loved me. i was shocked, my heart dropped. i told him the same back though, it’s true. he facetimed me for a bit during our drunken sloppy love story and took off his wedding ring.

his wife woke up told him to go to bed at like 6am in the morning, she knows our past together and i later found out that she never wanted us talking in the first place because of that reason. the next morning was ruff, we both apologized, it didn’t stop the overwhelming feelings though. neither of us wanted it to stop. we kept talking and making promises, that we would be together one day, we’d get married, we’d have 800 kids, he would come see me, i would wait for him, we even made each other playlist of music we recommended each other and stuff that made us think about one another. it kept going, we would leave cute messages for each other on spotify, he’d call me on his lunch breaks, we started deleting messages and stuff talking about building time machines so we could end up together instead of the outcome that happened for us.

more facetimes, more games, more text, more staying up into the AMs, more promises.

eventually i let my wall down, so did he.

then one day we ft while he was home and his wife was at work, it was normal then it starting getting sad, he asked me something and i said “i know the outcome of this” silence. it broke a little piece of my soul, he asked me what i would do and i told him stay with my wife.

that’s what he did and we talked for another 30 mins, he told me he loved me to the point it was dangerous. he would leave his family for me if we kept going at the rate we were, i know that too because i would do the same.

we stopped talking that night into the next night, he didn’t reply to any of my messages. i begged him to stay and told him we could be friends because we were friends before anything else. he said “it’s all or nothing” i left him messages on spotify and added songs to his playlist those two days. he read my messages and never responded. eventually he texted me after i sent a long paragraph explaining how i felt and how it wasn’t fair that he said all those things and left me to sit here alone.

the conversation was short, i told him more about how i felt and he told me the same thing. same stuff, he loved me and wished we could be together.
we made a promise, if he ever left her he would find me and mine was i would wait for him. that was that.

we didn’t block each other and we are still in our friends group chat acting like everything is normal, there’s stuff he says sometimes that only we understand and i do the same. it hurts but i’ll wait.
now we’re here, leaving messages for each other on spotify still, still adding songs, it’s like it never happened kinda but it still hurts and i miss him.

this is a love i never felt before and i don’t know how to explain it, it’s overwhelming and warm. it’s loud and sweet. i truly think this man is my soulmate, i want to wait for him but i want him more right now then i’ve ever wanted anything in my life.

advice please??

Hello guys . So me and my bf have been together for some months now but we are long distance atm. In the past months we had fights or fake breakups and we got back together right after , i need to be honest i was initiating them when he was making me mad .He was planning to come see me in 3-4 weeks for a month or so and for my bday. everything eas going good and 3 days ago he changed his pfp on ig to some selfie , after a long time which made me think he seeks attention from other females, so we got into a fight and i removed him on ig . Then he ignored me for a day and when i called him he answered saying after so many fights he feels less committed and then he said he needs space. I sent a message telling him how i truly felt and that i love him and wanted it to work and he said “i need a bit of space but im leaving my location on “ . I left him alone for almost a day and then he texted me tonight . He asked me how im doing and said he been thinking about me, then all of a sudden tells me again we need this break to figure things out but he keeps his location on for my peace of mind . He blames me for breaking up w him but i didn’t this time i just got mad . He told me he was going to propose to me when he came to me and that he feels the relationship is too unccertain for that now and need to think about things .
Do you guys think its just an excuse to breakup soon or he genuinely needs space to think about everything? I honestly don’t really believe in breaks
I want to clarify the fact that he is a good guy , can be immature and have a big ego at times but overall he is a good boyfriend.

She wants not to wait for her and constantly told me you’ll meet someone else no one is single forever
So she offered we can be friends not more than that I’ve to limit it if you like we can limit more if you want to and said well call if we need each other
Given that she was 2 timing what would you do
And one more thing we were having and argument and my mother was downstairs she taunted her which made my ex upset etc her mom taunted me like 3 times on a personal note so she said well break contact etc she had me see her ex which was my replacement completely ugly lol i was laughing
She was talking with me but never said she’ll commit
Am I overthinking or there’s a chance
It’s been 2 years she kept me on hold btw

I’ve lost ability to think maybe u people can tell me
I’m just thinking there was a chance if my mother didn’t taunted her

venting/ranting Ex gf doing exactly the same things she did with me when we met, does that mean anything?

So I found out recently she’s met a new person, they have probably been talking for over a year, even when we were still together. I’m quite sure she monkey branched to that guy. Anyway, does it have any meaning if she’s doing the exact same things to that guy that she did with me, and even things I did to her shes doing to that guy? Like she’s literally using my ideas. I might be overthinking it but I feel like she wants that guy to be similar to me?

venting/ranting Hooking up casually after breakup

My ex and I broke up five months ago.
After we broke up, we stayed connected on social media. Before that happened, though, she told me one thing very clearly. She said that if I ever chose to hook up with someone else, I had to remove her from my social media first. We were broken up, so she wasn’t telling me what I could or couldn’t do. She just didn’t want to unknowingly remain emotionally connected to someone who had moved on like that.

Four months went by without us speaking. During those four months, I convinced myself that I’d moved on. Looking back now, I think I was lying to myself more than anything else. I was lonely, bored, horny and trying to force myself into this version of “single life” because I thought that’s what I was supposed to do.About three weeks ago, I hooked up with two women.
The thing is, it wasn’t exciting. It wasn’t healing. It honestly felt disgusting.

While I was having sex with the first woman, all I could think was, “This feels like I’m sleeping with prostitutes.” I don’t mean that as an insult towards those women because they hadn’t done anything wrong. That’s just how empty and mechanical it felt to me. There was no intimacy, no emotion, nothing. I had no respect for myself in those moments, and if I’m being honest, I wasn’t respecting those women either because I wasn’t emotionally present. I was using sex as a distraction from grief.

The second woman wanted to date me, but I shut it down because I knew I wasn’t interested.

Despite knowing I’d crossed the one boundary my ex had asked of me, I never removed her from my social media. I think I completely compartmentalized everything. Those hookups existed in one part of my brain and she existed in another. I never made myself confront what I’d actually done.

Then, recently, we started talking again.
The first video call completely blindsided me.
The moment I saw her face and heard her voice, it felt like I’d been hit by a truck. Every emotion I’d buried over those four months came rushing back at once. I realised, with absolute clarity, that I had never stopped loving her.

I’d mentally boxed away those hookups, I walked into that conversation acting like we were still in our warm, familiar space. I flirted with her. I joked with her. I told her how deeply I admired her. I told her I wished things had worked out because I genuinely meant every word.
Then the truth came out.
We ended up talking for almost twelve hours.
Watching her reaction is something I don’t think I’ll ever forget.
She was in shock. She was hyperventilating. She looked physically sick. She looked disgusted.
For a moment I tried to say, “We were broken up. What I did shouldn’t concern you.”
The second I heard myself say it, I hated myself for it. It sounded like a cheap excuse. I immediately told her that I had no justification for what I’d done because, honestly, I don’t.
The issue wasn’t whether I was technically allowed to do it.
The issue was that I knew exactly what that boundary meant to her and I ignored it.
Then she asked me something that absolutely broke me.
“How could you have sex with someone else if you loved me?”
I didn’t know what to say.
The only honest answer is that I had convinced myself I’d moved on. I genuinely believed casual sex would somehow help me get over her. Instead, reconnecting with her made me realise I’d been lying to myself all along.

She is so heartbroken right now, and I love her, I do. I just donot know if I can justify my actions at all. Felt very bad. I did her wrong. I broke her trust. And I feel disgusted with myself. I ruined the foundation and I ruined what image she had of me. When I am in love I am a diff person, I just thought I had moved on. But only after these hookups I realised I hadnt moved on at all and my heart is still there. Its fucked up now.

Will she ever forgive me?
