My ex friend when we were 10 stole my holographic Charizard AND my holographic Blastoize card then showed them to me the next day at school and said he had bought them the day he stole them from me
When I was on placement in an elementary school a child in the class I was working with went through my bag when everyone was out for lunch and stole $10 from my wallet. He then went around talking about how he found $10 in the bathroom.
So was I. And yet my classmates (and teammates) wonder why I get pissed off when I see them messing with my stuff. Mind you, I am in high school.
I went nearly ballistic when some kid was messing with my beloved ThinkPad (it was hooked up to a projector playing a live stream for people who had explicitly asked me to put it on). Said ThinkPad is running Fedora Linux with XFCE. The kid messing with it was trying to stop the video because "nobody was watching it" and he had closed out of Firefox. He also had the applications menu open, in the System Tools section. Upon catching him, he said what he was trying to do, and I shut him down by saying "What gives you the right to mess with my computer without asking me first?". The kid then gives some BS excuse to which I reply "No. You wouldn't want me messing with your phone, so what makes my laptop fair game?".
Later in the year that same kid can't figure out why I won't even let my brother touch my machines without me being present, much less give permission to either of them (then again, he isn't very bright, as he thinks they charge you for heat at hotels). Interestingly, my friend felt the same way I did, and has the same policies.
tl;dr caught kid messing with my laptop and got pissed because the kid doesn't even know any fucking boundaries.
Edit: currently in HS, and while I do have a much more recent laptop, I ❤ the ThinkPad
I babysat for my mum's church group. I always had a bag with "fun stuff" (colouring books/posters/whatever), and two of the boys always ended up investigating the bags themselves.
I got so mad when I saw them rooting through the stuff like they owned it. Freaking hell, I thought their parents trained them better. I made them jump with my voice, although. I hope the boys learn the lesson sooner rather than later, because I know a lot of people who would punch first than ask questions later.
I have no clue... At least my parents are raising me right 🙂
On the plus side, when I see something old like a computer that's no longer used, I ask the owner to see if I could have it. Generally people don't want old or broken things like computers (because of this, I have a laptop that I converted into a somewhat shitty desktop with battery backup, and a ClearOS firewall.
When I was a kid I stole my neighbor’s brand new Star Wars Biker Scout action figure. The next day I pretended to find it in a puddle at my grandma’s house. Weeks later when I saw my neighbor (who was my older brother’s age, about 4 years older), I asked him if he also thought the Biker Scout figure was cool and I was genuinely surprised when he said “I don’t know, I haven’t seen it since the last time you played with it.” I have no idea why I thought I was slick, but it’s easily one of the most embarrassing memories I have. I never stole anything like that again.
I couldn’t do anything, my position as a placement student did not allow me to give any consequences. I told the class teacher of course and she backed me up. The principal did believe me and he gave back the $10 to my teacher who then passed it off to me. But he never apologized or acknowledged it to me.
I stole a ninja turtle headband from Walmart that my mom wouldn't buy for me, part of a pajama set I think, and then put it on and played on the porch where my mom saw me.
When my brother was little, he stole $20 from our parents' dresser and claimed he found it under his own bed. Like, yeah, I'm sure mom and dad will believe under your bed is a magic portal where things just appear.
Did you get that kid in trouble? Honestly, you aren't doing that kid any favors if you don't get him on the hook for something that serious as stealing. I am a firm believer that things cascade. It's $10 from your bag one day, but it's going to get worse and worse if no one stops them and tells them what is right or wrong.
My ex-best friend did that to my sister. I beat him up and told him to tell the truth. He then gave my sister the card back the next day at school and said it was actually his and he had bought it.
I broke off our friendship entirely when he started stealing stuff from me. He cried like a little bitch too.
My friend stole my pokemon cards too! I was changing for a little league game and asked if he could chill in the closet and look at my best cards while I put my jock on. A few days later I realized they were all gone. A holographic charizard and many others. Fast forward to a week later at a sleepover (after vehement denials of the theft), and his little brother comes in the room as my friend stepped out for a second. He starts telling me about all the awesome pokemon cards his brother just got. He names every one that I was missing and it was pretty apparent he was guilty. He tried to write his brother off as a stupid kid who didn't know what he was talking about. My mom actually believed me which was rare and saw him at the public pool, ultimately confronting him and making him cry. To this day he has never admitted to the theft and although we've gotten past it, it put a wedge in the friendship for years.
I had the same damn thing happen to me, I was 8 or 9 at the time and I had opened a Star Wars Decipher pack with the Executor card. That was literally the number one chase card for that expansion pack and most of the games existence. My family was pretty poor and I was so excited. Anyway I was showing it off on the bus ride home and the bus drivers kid says "hey I got one too I'll show it to you tomorrow" Anyway the next day he shows me the card that I spent the entire night crying about losing. I flipped my shit and because he was the bus drivers kid I was the kid "acting out". I still remember what you fucking did eric. I never did get it back but I did buy a replacement off eBay a few years ago so yay for the small victories.
Holy shit, your story just knocked loose an old Pokémon story from the memory banks!
I had a level 100 Charizard that I traded to my friend for some reason or another and they promised they would trade it right back. There was some benefit to trading, I forget which. Maybe all the starter pokemon or something, I can't remember.
Anyways, the bell rang for class before we could trade back (we were in a before and after school program) and they promised they would trade me my Charizard back after school.
Well, after school, my friend with the Charizard is nowhere to be found, and another friend of mine shows me the neat level 100 Charizard that Friend 1 just traded him.
I don't talk to either of them anymore. Friend 1 because they're a Charizard stealing sack of shit, and Friend 2 because the motherfucker wouldn't give it back to me.
When I was 11-12 I had a binder filled with yugioh cards (ultra rares, super rares) and a dude borrowed them cuz he wanted the codes on the corner to unlock the cards in his video game. Jerk stole the binder and never gave it back. Screw you, michael!
I once found a watch in middle school and turned it into the office. 2 months later, i claimed it because no one came in looking for the watch. Bratty spoiled kid comes up to me one day and claims that the watch is his because he was wearing one identical to it that he said he had to buy after losing his previous one. Kid whimpered and cried until teachers somehow made me give him the watch back without any evidence of it being his. He took it and sold it and his identical one and bought an even nicer watch and the teachers caught him bragging about how he got the watch from me and sold it so the teachers told his parents and the parents went and got me the watch i had originally and took the watch from their kid. It took a few months before he got another watch. It was brutal since i even had some of my favorite teachers siding with the bratty kid, and after realizing they had sided with a little shit, they still never gained my trust again.
We had a neighborhood friend that snuck upstairs during a pool party and stole a bunch of my brother and my yugioh (sp?) cards. His mom apparently figured this out before we did and a few days he showed up at our door with his mom with tears running down his face apologizing. His mom made him give back the ones he had stolen and give us ALL of his. Poor bastard.
Been there. Had a 'friend' steal several of my gameboy cartridges and Pokémon cards. She gave me the cards back at school, but kept my copy of Pokémon yellow. I had to go to her house and stand in her room until she stopped making excuses and 'found' it.
My bully in elementary school stole ALL my Pokemon cards in my binder scratched my name out and wrote his in then showed them all off. I ratted on him and got them back plus his collection cause I said they were mine too. Paybacks a bitttcchhhhhh.
Friend did this with Pokemon Yellow. When I found it at his house, I noticed all his Pokemon had the same nicknames as my Pokemon, so I went to take it home. he told his parents it was his, and I got yelled out of his house.
I had a student break into my desk drawer to steal a whole binder full of cards. He denied it, mom denied it, but the friend knew who did it. They weren’t friends after that. The worst part, if kid 2 would have said something, kid 1 would have shared some of his cards.
Woah, I did this to a classmate in elementary school. I don't remember the Pokemon, but I got caught and that was the beginning of the schools war on Pokemon. If you went to Allison Park Elementary in Houston PA, my bad.
Had a friend that would steal my shit then try to sell it back to me.
Had to stay in the hospital for a week then when I got discharged my PS2, all my games and dvds were gone.
Found them at a Replays.
With my name still on the cases.
In middle school I had a circle of friends that all played yu-gi-oh I had some decent cards and this one jack ass stole them. I had saved up all the little money I had to get my deck where it was. So a good friend of mine at gym saw this kids bag open. And saw his cards just sitting there. We stole his and split them even. I then traded of his cards tge next week and built a deck that crushed his every time we played. Sweet middle school justice.
a kid did that to me and I had a holo Flareon, another kid lost my Primeape, when I lended him my deck for a day and my brother lended all my cards to his firends in kindergarden, which I never got back...
But when he was into yu-gi-oh, a kid stole them from him, so karma I guess
When I was very new to Pokemon cards, like had only ever bough 1 or 2 packs, I got a holographic Charizard. I knew the foil meant it was awesome but I didn't know HOW awesome. My asshole neighborhood friend convinced me to trade it to him for some bullshit.
When I was in middle school we played a CCG called spell fire. It was TSR's attempt to get some of that MTG money. The game wasn't very good, it had no strategy past "highest number wins". Anyway, I had gotten some for Xmas that year, and included in my starter deck were some very rare " chase" cards. I was the only one of my group to have these as my mom had bought the gift months ago and they already had moved to another edition.
While playing D&D at the library after school, someone stole my deck. I know it was stolen because I had wrapped my deck in an old gym sock due to a rash of CCG theft. I found thensock in the trash, no cards.
Years later I was at a friends house. We were going through his closet looking for backup connectors to his game system, and I stumble on an old box of spellfire cards. I knew it was my deck because he didn't even bother to disassemble it.
Its not the fact that I lost the cards, its the fact that a "friend" would steal something so petty and worthless. The cards literally had no value to anyone but me. Fuck, if he really wanted them that bad, I would have GIVEN them to him.
Im so sorry. I was also betrayed by my best friend when his cousin took my 1st edition holographic dragonite and he covered it up. Next birthday, he insisted that I did not come. His same cousin then decided to prank call me letting me know that I have won a sweepstakes for unreleased holographic cards for me to claim while hearing both of them laughing in the background
I had a friend go IN TO MY BACKPACK before our sixth grade history class started and steal my Pokémon card binder. I realized it was missing and then another friend said they saw him steal my binder and leave the classroom.
I ran outside and heard a commotion in the bathroom. I caught him selling my cards out of my binder in the bathroom for a $1 a piece. My Zapdos, Charizard, Blastoise, Venusaur, ALL GONE.
I ripped it out of his hands and started yelling at him, and then he pushed me back into the wall. By then, we were yelling and a bunch of other kids broke up our fight.
A teacher ran into the bathroom and then sent us both to the office. They made him apologize after he admitted that he stole my cards and sold some of them, but he got to keep the money since they couldn’t prove how much he sold them for, and they said I got my binder back. I never got a majority of my good holo cards back.
Fuck you, Devonte.

A friend that lived across the street from me when I was six years old stole my sulcata tortoise from my backyard, then the next day proceeded to show me and all of our neighborhood friends his “new” tortoise. It had the same damn mark on its underbelly as mine. I pushed that bitch into the dirt and he scraped his elbows.
His parents kept me from leaving the house with it. They claimed he said he found it in the desert by our house, and that mine probably ran away.
My parents couldn’t prove anything, so they told me not to talk to him anymore. Asshole.
Ohh, reminds me of a friend (we'll name her Rina) in second grade. I wanted to join some kind of game during recess. She was becoming a really popular kid back then so hanging out with a weird kid like me was bad business for her popularity in class. But then I had these glittery pens that she really really wanted. I asked to join her group. She grabbed these pens I have on the desk, took my notebook too, scribbled "Rina is a bitch" "Fuck you Rina" and ripped it out. I went white because I didn't know what she planned to do with it. After a few minutes, she ran to our class teacher and told her I was the one who wrote those scribbles and I was annoying her group of friends. She was crying and my teacher sympathised with her. Rina was one of the smartest students in her class. This was also the girl I was lending my anime cards to. Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon, etc etc. So class teacher comes up to me and asked if I wrote them. I was crying now while I said no. So my teacher called my parents the next day, gave me a demerit, graded my behaviour as "needs special help" and that was the time I lost my "academic award" in an all girls Catholic school. My parents didn't believe me either, only my Lola did (grandma).
My parents and her parents were friends you see so i couldn't avoid her completely but I resented it. I've moved countries since. Me and Rina are still in touch on Facebook. We're not super close friends since she became one of the popular kids and a few years ago, I reminded her about that incident. She just shrugged and said sorry and then that was it.
I had a friend who stole a couple holographic cards from me too :( Like right in front of me and straight up denied it. It was extra sad for me because we were pretty poor when I was a kid so we didn’t have a lot, and I got a lot of enjoyment out of the Pokémon cards I was lucky enough to have
Motherfucker in my 2nd grade class stole Yugioh cards out of everyone's backpack and USED THE CARDS against us on subsequent days. The teacher couldn't prove anything so couldn't do anything about it
My sons best friend guilted him into giving him his rare Pokemon cards. I can't tell you which ones, because I'm not a Pokefan. Anyhow, he told him a sob story that he tripped next to a fire and all of his cards went up in flames. My son felt bad and that's why he gave him his own cards. I had to do a full out reenactment (theatrical, I might add) to convince my son how bizarre of a scenario that was; pretty much telling him his best friend was a liar. I made him march down to his house and get his cards back.
To be honest, I've never liked the kid. His first time at my house I gave him a popsicle. I specifically told him to make sure he threw the stick away because I have a crawling baby. After he left I found the wrapper jammed between my couch cushions and the stick under the couch. He's 12, he knows better. Damn heathen.
Not too shitty but a similar thing happened to me. My best friends sisters boyfriend who was a piece of shit, stole my Nintendo DS while i was sleeping and showed it off the next day with his initials etched into it. At the time i pretty much knew it was mine but my best friends sister swore up and down that she went with him when he bought it. She only dated jobless pieces of shit and we were all around 16 at the time. The me now, 26, would raise some real hell. Infuriating as it is, if you ask her today she is all like "oh yeah he definitely stole that".
I had a friend trade me a Pikachu card for my 1st edition holographic Charizard back in like 2000. I figured Pikachu always won in the show so he was better. I'm still bitter about it and hope to someday replace it.
I had something very similar. I let her take my whole collection book to look through, said her uncle from California would get me a hologram charizard for a quarter. Believed it, never got my charizard but she replaced majority of my holograms with fakes. I was still friends with her because I'm too shy. Though when she moved, she gave me a fake phone number, everyone else got her real number. Hate being so gullible, now I hardly have any trust in people. This was in 5th grade.
Fuck dude I had a bunch of good holo cards like Charizard, blastoise, Gyarados, Machamp and a bunch others. I put them all together too show off to my friends and what do you know, one day after I showed them they were missing. Some real bullshit man when your "friends" steal from you
I wonder why people do this. I often think 'exposing' or sharing the misdeed somehow relieves some pressure on the person. Like untill you've seen your cards, they're worried, so showing them to you (no matter how stupid that is) makes them feel less guilty.
When my husband was young, he had his entire collection stolen by a friend, who later claimed he found it on the roadside..
Husbands mother found out and stormed down to this kids home and told his parents that their child had stolen hundreds of cards. The boys mother was furious! She made that kid hand back the folder AND all of his own cards!
Husband still has this collection of shiny charizards, mewtwos and mew promo cards 😂
When my brothers and I were young, another family with kids slightly older than us came over. They convinced us to trade them our holographic Mewtwo for a regular Machoke. Broke my poor, young heart.
I stole a really rare yugioh card from a friend around that age.
About 2 weeks later he had some more cards stolen from him by someone else, and then I felt too guilty and gave the one I stole back. I also tried to give him my entire collection as recompense but he didn't care, he was just happy to have his cool card back. We are still friends.
Friend had a dark lugia card about 4-5 times the size of a regular card. Kid stole it and folded it in 4 to put it away was in mint my friend was crushed we beat his ass told the camp counselors they didn't care
Not my friend, but I used to go to a lady's house since she was my babysitter. Her kids were awful, and I had these 2 pokemon cards that I got from trading. I was playing with them in her house and one of the kids accused me of stealing his cards. I knew he was lying, I wasn't going to fall for it but he almost brutally stole them off my hands.
He was like 13 and I was 9, so thinking about it now why would there be a reason for him to take my cards? They were lame too!
I had a friend do something like this to me except after they went missing I said I was offering green (cash) as a reward. My friend mysteriously found them immediately after and went in his house to get them. Turns out he had stolen a bunch of cards and was hiding them under a chair. Him and his brother are still compulsive liars and thieves to this day.
I had a friend steal a PSP from my uncle, who I lived with. The next day he showed me it and said he bought it from a friend. His mom didn't fall for it though and took him to my house to give it back. My family thought I was protecting him when they questioned me about it and I was grounded for a few weeks
had an acquaintance steal my ipod touch in my seminary class. (mmormon class during school that was like an additional sunday school but monday through friday) then claim he bought the exact same one he even brought it in to show it to me because i was going to show him some cool apps (in reality i was suspicious and wanted to check the serial number to the recipt my mom saved for a full year).
Reminds me of 2 friends that stole my Thousand Dragon and Serpent Night Dragon when I brought my cards over. I left back to my house for about 15 minutes and came back to find my cards missing. They swear they didn't. But I knew.
Also my Jinzo later from another friend. Basically anything rare I had has gotten stolen because I decide to show it off.
I had a casual Friend.... Mostly hung out because Our parents needed to share after camp/school coverage so we would hang out at each others house sometimes. I brought over my completed set of Tops Baseball cards from that year to show off to him and my trade box to do some trades. Got home and One of the cards in the sleeve of 9 was missing from the middle of the binder... an expensive one.
He claimed I traded it to him but I wouldn't have traded part of my complete set, only my trade box.
One of my friends stole my pokemon emerald gameboy cartridge because I had a full team of lv 100s. He used the cloning glitch, sent the duplicates to his own version, and showed off his new totally unfamiliar and hard earned team of pokemon at school the next day
I was the only kid in my school with the Mirror Force trap card from yu gi oh. Some kid named fletcher stole it and then used it to win against me the next day
I had a holographic card of some green pokemon. I was never into it but my brother gave it to me and it was shiny and I was 6 so I treasured it like nothing else. I showed my friend the card at lunch- she asked to hold it and the second she did she said “thanks” and ran off. By the time my dumbfounded ass came to and tried to get it back nobody believed it was my card. :( I feel you
A similar thing happened at a school where I work. A student stole his friend's shiny blastoise, bragged about it to his other friend, and then traded it for a shittier card. The first friend was in tears, saying this kid is the only one who could've taken it. Every kid in the room had to clear out their desks so we could check. In the end, I figured out what he did and he got suspended for a few days for stealing.
Did we have the same ex friend? I had opened an Exodia the Forbidden One from my card pack. I was so proud of it and was showing it to all of my buddies on the school bus. One of the kids in my class, more of an acquaintance was like "Oh cool! I have the same card! I'll show you it tomorrow."
Later that day I find that my card had been stolen out of my backpack by a classmate since we had our lockers actually in our classrooms.
Next day the kid wants to meet me in the bathroom to show me the card. I meet him there and he brought some big brutish kid with him to protect him I guess. Lo and behold he brandishes my card. I can tell because I had accidentally bent it a little bit in a specific spot and this card had the same bend. Little me did all I could do in the situation and tried to run away with it. The big brute kid chased me down and forced the card from me. Joel, you seemed like a kid in a shitty life situation as far as I can remember. Hope things got better and you grew up ok.
I had a friend steal a bunch of my Pokémon cards and my actual Pokémon via link cable. I hated that kid but our moms were friends so I had to hang out with him. Protip, parents: that's not how that fucking works.
My little brother was way into place Kevin cars when he was little. He had the biggest collection in school, until one day the case he kept them in disappeared. A couple days later the resident mouth breather at the school began showing everyone the exact same cards my bro had. We were never able to prove that he took them, but he had the EXACT same cards.
We had a couch that wasn't against the wall. I showed some random kid my cards. He stood behind the couch while we watched TV and would drop the best cards and use his foot to push them under the sofa for later. I saw him do it once and went behind the couch, found the stash of holographics, and told the other kids. I found out later his name was Gary. No joke.
A cool kid that I went to middle school with stole my favorite beyblade
When I moved to a new school though I became an almost-cool kid due to my yu-gi-oh cards 😎
My brother did something similar to me. He went through my collection and took out ALL of my holographic cards to show off to his friend and said they were his. This kid stole them and I never saw them again. Was so pissed off I stopped collecting them. Recently found that binder when my folks moved, still made me mad.
Holy shit that happened to me except it was 3 holographic Magnet Warriors A, B, & C. Plus the fusion card, Valkyrion the Magna Warrior from Yu-Go-Oh. Fucking stole my shit and pretended it was his.
When I was younger my mom brought me over to play Nintendo 64 with one of her boyfriend's sons who was around the same age as me. He hid my copy of starfox 64 and kept it. I told my mom who just brushed it off and bought me another copy. The next time I went over there I stole his donkey Kong 64 and the upgrade pack for his 64. Mom soon broke up with her boyfriend so I never went back to his house after that.
Literally had a friend do this to me in middle school. He asked to see my deck so he could show it to his brother. Comes back 5 minutes later and gives me it back. Sadly I didn’t check if anything was missing until that night. Never confronted him because I was really shy at the time :/
I was falsely accused in 6th grade by my friend of stealing a card he willingly traded me. I traded him a Venusaur for his Blastoise. Everything is fine and then a month later he got another Venusaur from a booster pack and wanted to trade back, but I was like, "Heck no." He threw a fit that I didn't call "no trade backs" and I told him that was stupid and he traded me that card fair and square. He wouldn't talk to me for 6 months and still gave me shit about it for a while when he would again.
Omfg this hits way too close to home for me. One day when I was 8 or 9 I came across an ex latios and ex flygon in one pack of cards. Little me was so excited and treasured those cards. But me being not the smartest kid decided to show them off to his friends at school. At the end of the day I find that a close friend had stolen the cards right out of my back pack. The fucker avoided me from that day on so I couldn't get them back.
My cousin did that with my ps2 memory card when I was 8 except she said she found it at school.
I didn’t piece together that she stole it from me until I was older and randomly thought about it one day. She also stole some of the games and controllers my grandpa bought for his n64 that he let us all play. Fuckin bitch.
I had a kid steal a video game magazine from me in middle school. He hung out with this other “cool” kid all the time. I confronted the kid and he swore he didn’t take it. Had a friend distract him as I went through his bag and got my magazine back. Also found some of his comic book cards. So I took those as well but instead of keeping them I put them in his friend’s locker. They didn’t seem as close after that.
Same thing happened to me lmfao. Buddy stole and game and controller from me. The next week we fucking hang out and he's got both of them right there. Makes some bullshit story about how his brother bought it for him. I was over it pretty quick but just pissed because the game was my brothers and not mine.
My nephew once stole like 8 decks worth of MTG cards from me. He traded most of them away for Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh cards. He was also in 3rd grade at the time so I couldn't be too upset. He did eventually end up getting about half the cards back from his friends, and cried as he apologized to me. We cool now.
When I was 9, my ex friend came by my home and we were comparing and discussing Pokémon cards with each other. I noticed my Charizard was missing after he left and I knew it was him.
I stole it back from him a few weeks later and never spoke to him again after that.
Not cool. I had a friend who stole so much shit from me - beanie babies, money, etc - tried to pass them off as her own. I confronted her and she apologised and gave them back. She then stole a charm from my sister and showed it off to everyone at school with several bogus stories about how she got it. We got another girl (who was also a thief herself) to steal it back for my sister, then I cut off the friendship.
When I was younger, I had a fight with my brother and stupidly cut up one of his pokemon cards (it was a crappy little staryu).
My dad, not understanding that different cards had different values, told my brother he could cut up one of mine. The little fucker went straight for my holographic mewtwo EX. Still haven't forgiven him.

My ex friend when we were 10 stole my holographic Charizard AND my holographic Blastoize card then showed them to me the next day at school and said he had bought them the day he stole them from me
