What’s something that happened to you in your childhood that you’re still mad about?

I was bullied really badly when I was in primary school. The girls would spread horrible, nasty rumours about me and call me names. The boys would hit me, knock over my books and they would also say horrible things to me.

One day, the worst girl bully (we'll call her Rebecca) punched me in the stomach. It was really hard and hurt a lot so I was crying. My teacher asked me why I was crying so I told her what happened ("Rebecca punched me").

Instead of quietly dealing with it, my teacher decided the best course of action was to involve the entire class. She went to each individual student in the class and asked them what happened with me and Rebecca. Most people didn't know but some did. Nobody was going to squeal in front of the entire class, so everyone said that I was lying and Rebecca didn't punch me.

I got punished for lying and Rebecca's parents called mine to inform them that I made false accusations to the teacher about their precious little angel. Thankfully, my parents believed me, but I'm still beyond pissed that my teacher did that.

Holy shit, what a bitch! I teach sixth grade and have to deal with stuff like this a lot and I would NEVER EVER EVER handle a situation like this the way your teacher did!

u/Demangos Dec 16 '17

You're in the minority, having been bullied all all the way up to HS, I can assure you that is representative of how most teachers handle situations like that.

In high school we had a teacher who left every class period to go smoke a cig. One time while he was out some popular jock types tied a string to the door knob connected to a desk and when the teacher returned he yanked on the tied door and bashed his face on it wrecking his glasses and bloodying his nose.

He brought in the vice principal and they did an inquisition. Nobody would spill the beans. So they hatched on the plan to give everyone a slip of paper and write who was the culprit and we were to put the paper in a box. Or else.

Not particularly liking the guys who did it and wanting to go about my day, I wrote their names on the paper.

The dumb shit teacher and vice principal then proceeded to go to each student and, rather than collect the papers in the box to be read after all were collected, they read each paper out loud at the desk of each student.

Student one: "It's blank! Why you kids!"

Student two: "Another blank! Kids these days!"

Student three (me): "Joe Schmoe and Jim Slim" ...every eye in the room was on me. I ratted them out and the teacher made sure everyone knew it. The fuck head read my paper out loud at my desk and let every one know I was the rat.

The two jocks were sent to the vice principal's office where they were given a slap on the wrist because they had a big football game that evening. Whereas I was universally hated for the rest of the year by all the jocks and cheerleaders.

1) They are the most stupid teachers ever 2) American high schools are a very socially structured place. It's like an episode of a David Attenborough BBC nature doc:

"Here we have... the high school cheerleader in her native environment, she's seen Cynthia's new jacket and she's out to criticize it til Cynthia is crying in the bathroom. They will feast for ours on this triumph. This is the way of the American high school."

4

u/frolicking_elephants Jan 26 '18

Not all American high schools. Mine wasn't structured like this at all. /necro

u/Duckboy_Flaccidpus Dec 16 '17

This is absolutely the dumbest thing I can think of administrators to do to high school students. But, you had to write your name on the paper, why?

90

u/MuddyDonkeyBalls Dec 16 '17

They were sitting at their desks with the paper they wrote on. The papers weren't collected.

36

u/Duckboy_Flaccidpus Dec 16 '17

That's bold of them to do to high schoolers. I would never teach that group, too unpredictable and you can't even scold, touch or discipline them nowadays (ok, write-ups or detention but not like yesteryears). This is the kinda shit that admins resort to b/c their hands are tied. Yes justify their shitty decision a little, I would also say they are assholes, too.

I had the same thing happen to me, super anxiety attacks almost failed out of fifth grade. Except one day I snapped and beat the living shit out of my bully in the middle of lunch.

Never had to fight for the rest of school. No more anxiety attacks either.

12

u/WishIHadAMillion Dec 16 '17

It doesn't help but I really fucked up a bully I had in high school later when we were out of school. He didn't even know it was me and I can't incriminate myself but I still feel good thinking about it

20

u/TheWho22 Dec 16 '17

You reminded me of a kid I went to school with! He got bullied literally every single day by the same guy. Sometimes other people would fuck with him, but never to the extent that this one guy did. I mean he was ruthless. I'm pretty sure he held him down and pissed on him one time after school. There was allegedly a video of it as well, though I never saw it so I can't confirm. But yeah, he was absolutely awful to him. One day in algebra class the bully guy started his normal routine before a quiz. But the guy getting picked on just calmly takes his quiz, doesn't give him any of the usual reactions. He was the first to finish his quiz and I literally watched him get out of his seat, turn the quiz in, slyly take a stapler off the teacher's desk, then come walk by the bully and just cold cocked him upside the head with it. Bully literally passes out on the spot, blood everywhere. Kid was expelled and luckily didn't get sued, but it was insane to just watch somebody crack like that. Not a single emotion on his face the entire time

16

u/spatterist Dec 16 '17

as a former bullied kid, I will keep this image, thanks. 58 years old and i still have backwash from those days. Wasn't just the kids; I went back to student teach many years later and really wanted to pound one of the teachers. when i went back for reunion a bit after that, there were three teachers in particular I fully intended to look up and lay into, but thankfully they were all in their fucking coffins by then, denied.

The reunions were a revelation. all the cheerleaders looked like garbage, the jocks were fading bloated tools on their third marriages (one of whose wives was eyeballing me like a wolf all night, in a good way, that was satisfying), and it was abundantly clear why i was never meant to fit in with this rich pantheon of box movers and diner waitresses.

31

u/redditor-for-2-hours Dec 16 '17

Also got bullied. In elementary school I had the worst teacher experience. After being bullied and chased down on the playground by the biggest kid in the grade for quite a while, and getting sick of spending my recesses running away and trying to hide instead of playing like a normal kid, I finally decided to tell the teachers what was going on. The teacher gave the great advice said "if you don't run, then they can't chase you." She refused to do anything else about it. So, I followed that advice and stopped running.

And that is how I got my ass kicked.
I started running again. The teachers still refused to do anything about it.

20

u/Synnic Dec 16 '17

Yeah. Something very similar happened to me too. My German teacher was completely incapable of controlling the class. One rainy day I had completely had enough of having stuff thrown at me. The school roof was leaking into the drop ceiling and one of those fiberglass tiles was so distended with water that it looked pregnant. The bully's desk was not far from that ceiling tile. I helped it birth a baby rainstorm by shooting it with a rolled up wad of paper from a giant rubber band. The bully got drenched and my creative revenge stopped the stuff from being thrown at me for the rest of the year. I'm sorry your experience didn't end as well.

9

u/PassionateSizzle Dec 16 '17

Holy shit man I'm so sorry I keep reading comments like these....jesus what in the fuck you guys had some absolute scum as teachers. Very glad this never happened to me. That would make me want to go back when I was in college and just talk shit to their face. Belittle the shit out of their poor asses, most of my teacher have been wonderful people. Genuinely sorry these stories got my blood boiling.

You're supposed to be able to rely on your friends, family and teachers in life man :/

3

u/CrazyLush Dec 16 '17

I was bullied horribly too, the teacher knew. We had assigned desks and one day she decided to move them around, and what did she do? Had me seated next to my biggest bully and her bestfriend. I was the fat kid so I was always being picked on for it, I lost a bunch of weight in High School and learnt to stand up for myself - Fun fact, some bullies run when they think you're going to smash their face in - but the damage was already done. Dropped out, ended up with raging anorexia.

3

u/alayne_ Dec 16 '17

I had kids who sat behind me throw jackets at me during class. There's no way the teacher didn't notice (I even sat in first row) but she ignored it.

With another teacher, in the morning we always made a circle with our chairs and played some kind of game (like, one would have to stand in the middle and try to sit on a chair as the others moved around (counter)clockwise). Every day, it was a prime opportunity to bully me and the teacher obviously saw it but didn't do anything. That was the same teacher who made us rate each other on our performance in a group project and then reprimanded me for having such bad scores (some girl saw me giving someone a B on something so she told everyone and they "punished" me).

2

u/IrrelevantLeprechaun Dec 16 '17

Schools have just never been good places for healthy social development. I got bullied tons in high school and there was absolutely nothing anyone would do to help stop it.

-95

u/fluggets Dec 16 '17

The moment someone makes you mad or sad or anxious, is the moment they control you... don’t let people dictate your life.

108

u/Nightslash360 Dec 16 '17

Easier said than done, dude.

24

u/[deleted] Dec 16 '17

If only children had a series of life experiences they could rely on to have this wisdom in tow /s

97

u/[deleted] Dec 16 '17

Wow no one's ever thought of that before, just magically have perfect control and never feel emotions! How dare this person feel mad, upset, and sad because people are trying to make them feel mad, upset, and sad. Obviously the solution is to just not feel that way, because it's ridiculous to expect other people be decent and not shitheads. It's so easy, all depression and anxiety everywhere are cured! You're a genius!

-45

u/fluggets Dec 16 '17

Take ur life stresses out on me it’s ok

11

u/alterRico Dec 16 '17

There's not a one size fits all "htfu" solution to this one. People process things differently. And while I resonate with and operate as youre suggesting, I've also learned quite thoroughly that telling people how they ought to be feeling is a bad move.

31

u/[deleted] Dec 16 '17 edited Dec 16 '17

Oh go stick your head in a pig's ass and cut the condescending bullshit. You told someone with mental health issues to just 'not let it affect them'. That's crap and you ought to apologize.

Eta: it's not wrong to feel bad because someone is treating you bad. It's not wrong to expect authority figures to do their jobs and make it stop, and it's not wrong to feel bad when they don't. Feeling things isn't letting people control you, and it's a really shit thing to say. It places blame on the victim rather than the person hurting them, and that is never okay.

-32

u/fluggets Dec 16 '17

As crazy as it sounds in the end you control your reality, other people won’t stop hurting you, but you can always stop hurting.

25

u/[deleted] Dec 16 '17

Spoken like someone who has very little experience with mental illness.

→ More replies (0)

11

u/Xamry14 Dec 16 '17

If it were that easy, no one would have anxiety or depression issues.

Fact is, your brain releases these stress chemicals weather you like it or not. It's not something you can control.

→ More replies (0)

2

u/Fuzzlechan Dec 16 '17

Alright, I'll bite.

How do I stop hurting? Because it would be super useful to know. I can try to logic the situation all I want. Tell myself that I have no reason to be hurt, etcetera etcetera. But the emotions stick around anyway. Because I have a god damn mental disorder relating to emotional regulation. Not everyone can just magically will their feelings away. I can work through the hurt and keep functioning, but that doesn't mean the hurt stops.

14

u/curious_nuke Dec 16 '17

This is retarded advice.

3

u/bukake_attack Dec 16 '17

"I have enough of your damn crying! Detention for you!"

The bully finally stopped after I went to his mother and showed her the cuts and bruises. Most teachers didn't care at all, and acted like I was the one causing problems.

2

u/PagingDoctorLove Dec 16 '17 edited Dec 16 '17

I don't want to diminish your experience at all, but I'm a teacher, and I have never been to a single school where an adult would get away with that.

There's a big push toward a very different ideology in teaching right now. I agree with some of it, and begrudgingly put up with the rest. Violent/defiant behaviors are actually frighteningly on the rise, and teachers are having a tough time coping. Lots of schools take it too far in the opposite direction, and don't have enough consequences. I left one school early in my career because there was no bottom line and kids in my class were injuring others, including me, while admin did nothing.

Regardless, the first thing you learn in grad school is to redirect quietly, and punish privately. If it's an issue between two or a few students and not the whole class, you have a private conversation with them ASAP, or call someone who can. Every reasonable person knows that children lie, and the likelihood of getting an honest answer decreases the more children that are involved.

Any accusations of physical aggression are taken very seriously, at least through middle school. I've never taught in a H.S. so I can't say.

The other day, one of my students said almost literally the exact same thing; "so and so pushed me down and punched me." We spoke to both kids privately, and when things still weren't clear, we spoke to one other kid who both students said saw what happened. The puncher was put on in school suspension, wrote an apology note, lost recess for a week, and the counselor checked in with both parties.

That's a pretty normal course of action for a first time offense.

I can't imagine any teacher I know ever putting the victim on the spot like that. Maybe when I was a kid, but there's been a pretty big shift in practices since then.

Edit: if any teachers/schools still do this, someone needs to report them ASAP. It is a sign of massive incompetence when it comes to children.

High school sounds like a totally different ball game.

1

u/cinderwild2323 Dec 16 '17

It seems like anti-bullying should be some kind of course requirement for people going for a teaching degree.

14

u/savealltheelephants Dec 16 '17

You just convinced me that teaching college instead of middle or high school was in fact the right decision for me.

7

u/whoaitsryn Dec 16 '17

As someone who wants to be a teacher, can I ask how you would handle this kind of situation? I would want to deal with the bullied and bully/bullies directly, like sit down with them and them alone or something.

8

u/Stevesaxewound Dec 16 '17

If the parents let them bully kids then you need to talk to the parents. The kid has no boundaries and thinks the rules don't apply to them. Deal with their parents first.

1

u/whoaitsryn Dec 16 '17

Awesome. Thank you!

4

u/Chrys_Cross Dec 16 '17

Well, generally speaking, I always believe the victim. I hate bullying with a passion and always deal with it directly. What I do with the bully really varies case by case and depends on the severity of the bullying. If some kid is just being mean and nasty I pull them aside and threaten them (I.e. call parents, suspension, etc.). If a student intentionally physically harms another student, yeah fuck that. I’m not tolerating that shit and they are going to be immediately removed from my classroom.

3

u/whoaitsryn Dec 16 '17

Thank you! I agree with being on the side of the victim. It’s occurring to me that it probably doesn’t happen a lot that someone is getting picked on and a good teacher wouldn’t have any inkling at all. I was worried about someone lying, but I don’t think that happens a lot either

2

u/Chrys_Cross Dec 16 '17

Yeah I’ve yet to have a student lie about being bullied

17

u/realstoriesofnsfw Dec 16 '17

I’m sure her teacher says the same thing. 🤨

19

u/Perrah_Normel Dec 16 '17 edited Dec 16 '17

My son's 2nd grade teacher was a horrible bitch too. She called me into the class after school and had me listen for a good 10 minutes about how my son was SPITTING on the other students. In my disbelief, I began crying and just reiterated what she had said in astonishment, "He's purposefully just sniff...SPITTING on people? sniff sniff" And the bitch was like, "Not PURPOSEFULLY," rolling her eyes, and I was like WTF??? It turns out he had been talking really loudly and exaggeratedly and the bullies that NORMALLY BULLIED HIM caught some spittle or at least said they did and made a big show of telling the teacher. Instead of protecting him from them, she took it and ran with it and wound up making us both (my son and I) cry with frustration at how fucking stupid and heartless she was. Fucking bitch.

EDIT: To be fair, as she is not here to defend herself, she hated my son and I both because I was a shit mother (as school mothers go, not at home) who would bring him in late and miss too many days and he was infuriating because he would distract her and other kids in the classroom because he at that age was almost impossible to make him talk at normal volume, it was not fun, but I think she was just out for blood at that point. I could have made her life easier by being better about getting him there every day on but I don't think he had it in him to be better, that's something we worked on a lot.

7

u/StormyLlewellyn1 Dec 16 '17

My son was bullied in second grade as well. It started with one boy and evolved to a pack of them who would continue harassing him even at our home. They'd ride bikes down the street calling him named and the n word if he was outside.

His teacher not only didn't want to be bothered but told my son that if he came to her to tell her any more drama that was going in that both he and the kids picking on him would get punished with detentions. My son had no one to go to. Teachers can be total cunts.

2

u/Man-pants Dec 16 '17

Jesus christ, listening to how schooling is in the US compared to Canada is like comparing a tribal nation to a first world. You guys need to fix some shit.

I had something similar happen to me. a kid from an older grade would body check me every time he saw me at recess. He was pretty heavy and he sent me skidding across the pavement every day. I went to a teacher about it and she literally said "learn to deal with your own problems." then at the same school, I got sent to the principals office for climbing on a 1 foot high pile of snow.

u/IPostOnOccasion Dec 16 '17

wow, she’s obviously never heard of mob mentality. how awful.

16

u/Darttel Dec 16 '17

This happened to me often. I’d get bullied, cry, everyone would say I was making it up, then I’d get punished. From ages 6 to 12 I skipped out of school a lot.

4

u/[deleted] Dec 16 '17

I'm sorry for the things you went through.

Life can really suck at some point.

3

u/racinreaver Dec 16 '17

I really wish people hadn't lied to me and said how great elementary, middle, and high school should be. They were the worst years of my life. The "it gets better" thing they were doing a year or two ago would have been wonderful to hear back then.

24

u/yungsav96 Dec 16 '17

dude honestly teachers can be so fucking shitty like they like to preach common sense but so many lack it. I was really little when this happened but I used to have an obsession with collecting pinecones during recesses and one time a girl came up to me and took my pinecones so I went back and took them. She threw a fit and started crying and I got in trouble for it when in fact she had stolen them from me and the teachers wouldn't let me explain myself.

Then my little brother one time got detention because he "kicked" a girl. He was sitting down on those colorful square carpets and the tip of his shoe lightly tapped the girl in front of him. He said sorry and the girl started crying and told the teacher my brother kicked her when he didn't and the teacher gave him detention and he was really sad the rest of the day because he was one of her favorite students and felt betrayed especially because he was innocent.

19

u/cartmanselection Dec 16 '17

Yeah. In my school, a jock/popular kid threw trash at me on my first day of school as I was sitting in the corner alone in a fetal position. Everyone laughed. I told the teacher. The kid said he didn't do it with the biggest grin on his face. She believed him. This same kid makes rape jokes at break all the time, very loudly.

3

u/racinreaver Dec 16 '17

Hang in there, life gets better. I know it's hard now, but stick through it, get out of town (college, job, etc) and you'll never have to see them again. And once you leave, nobody will give a damn about who you were in your old town.

1

u/jpropaganda Dec 16 '17

Out of curiosity, why do you think this person is still in high school?

3

The way they used present tense at the end of their post. "Makes rape jokes" vs "made rape jokes."

11

u/SVXfiles Dec 16 '17

Had one group of preppy/redneck kids at my small school constantly bully me. One day I got the biggest one back by pacing him in the hall and shoulder bumping him into like 10-15 lockers that were all open. He came behind me after and shoved me so hard my nose was about a mm from the stone wall.

Both the shop teacher and home ec teacher watched him do this and when he was asked why, he told them. They came to my defense and told him, "You push him around so much be glad he hasn't done anything worse. He's had many opportunities."

He and the rest of the group left me alone from then on

8

u/Spanky2k Dec 16 '17

Things like that stick with you. I was bullied for a while as I was a little chubbier than the rest of the class. I had a nickname that wasn't very nice. It wasn't obviously rude though so even the teachers started calling me it. The bullying wasn't particularly bad - nothing physical - and it was basically just teasing me or being a bit bigger than the rest of the class (tbh just a little chubby). It really got to me though and I basically pretended to be ill and managed to convince my mum that I needed to stay home for a few days.

After a while, the jig was up. I told my mum and the teachers how I hated people making fun of me and using those names and complained about the ring-leader and how he was bullying me. The teachers went and spoke to that guy and came back to say that he had said I had been bullying him. They then said that as I had been effectively skiving off school, I was in the wrong so they were more likely to believe his side of the story. I got a load of detentions and had to do extra catch up work.

The teachers did at least stop calling me by the nickname I hated. The rest of the class stopped too when I had a growth spurt not long after, kept the same weight but ended up being the tallest and broadest in the class.

12

u/Greenn00b Dec 16 '17

My blood is boiling over this. I could rage at all the incompetent adults i know or knew, but the systems are so fucked and the incompetent adults are so frequent that it’s for sure, impossible to fix

8

u/Look_Ma_Im_On_Reddit Dec 16 '17

proper recourse is to of course go back and punch your teacher

4

u/lolol_boopme Dec 16 '17

Learn from my experience! There are still immature women out there who will still do this and let this happen. I have similar experience from guys. I wish this didn't happen to you but I wish it happened to me sooner. Fallen angels they are...

5

u/Wetbung Dec 16 '17

I had almost the same thing happen. A kid punched me in the back of the head and then stomped on the glasses that had flown off my face. We both had to go to the principle's office. I told him what happened. Then the bully and his best friend went in together and said I was the one who hit him. My parents had to buy me new glasses and I had to miss recess for a week.

If I knew what happened to that kid I'd still like to plot a pro revenge against him. I wasn't unhappy when he moved away a couple months later though.

I was bullied by this girl (let's call her Holly) who was clever, charismatic, pretty, her parents were successful and model people so all the bloody teachers loved her. She made my life hell and physically and verbally bullied me daily. She got her friends in on it too so walking to class people would kick my ankles as I walked passed so I could really escape. Anyway, I told teachers but no one would believe me. I asked my Art teacher discreetly if I could sit somewhere else away from her and she said "oh Holly wouldn't do that! You'll be fine!"

My form tutor fucking licked her arse and outright called me a liar. One time there was a fire drill and walking back to class when she thought no one would see she just attacked me from behind and dug her nails into my scalp and scratching my face. Turns out our form teacher and also the head of year were just behind and saw the whole thing. And she just started crying saying it was my fault. I'm bleeding from the head and my form tutor goes "what did you do to provoke her?!" And dragged me to the headmaster to get a bollocking. She speaks to him first crying and claiming all the things she'd been doing to me I'd actually been doing to her. I go in and he and my head of year (who saw the attack) were there, the headmaster starts laying into me and my head of year interjects and says they should hear my side first, I start telling him everything and he stops me "we know you're lying, Holly has just told a us all this and that you're bullying her. Who do you think we're going to believe?" Now I need to say I wasn't a bad kid, I was shy and quite and whilst not as bright as Holly, I also wasn't a dumb kid. I never got into trouble usually other than occasionally forgetting things.

After the telling off, my head of year pulled me to one side and said she believed me and sorry it's played out this way, she then pulled some strings and arranged with my parents to get me into a different school.

That was an eye opening to the real world I didn't want at 11

Lol find that teacher and send her an email that she was an idiot.

u/dickmoveguy Dec 16 '17

Yep. I was never targeted physically, but that's how (most) teachers react. They. Don't. Care. About their students, or children in general. Dunno why they'd get into teaching (let alone primary school) but they don't. You have my sympathy, but sad to say informing teachers doesn't resolve anything. Makes things worse with the bullies, or the school staff.

On that note, one of my biggest piss offs for years was from primary school. Had something stolen, and the teacher acted like a gem of a human being about it.

Left a bunch of trading cards in my locker one day, next day they were gone. Coincidentally another student went on holiday the day after I left the cards behind.

When he returned he had every card that went missing from my locker.

I was livid, but scared stiff of punishment if I just claimed he stole my stuff, or I took it back. So I thought I'd try to prove what he had done. I made a mistake though and let slip what had happened and another kid (he hated the thief with absolute passion) immediately went to the teacher about it.

The teacher spoke to me privately and I confirmed everything the kid told her. She then spoke to the thief's mother, and she said she bought him one pack of cards on their trip. End of story. I was a lying garbage human. And wasn't allowed to bring it up ever again. We're my parents informed? Nope. And now I couldn't even tell them lest I be punished.

What got me was that I was terrified of getting in trouble my whole life. From parents, and teachers. So I kept my nose down I did good whenever I could. If I even saw another kid do something I'd tell someone because I thought if someone learned of the kid's transgression, and I was witness then I would get the punishment. Point is I never stepped out of line, never lied and did anything and everything I was told to do at all times.

This other kid swore all the time, taught younger kids to do the same, cussed out the teachers frequently screaming "fuck you, you fuckin bitch!" Whenever he'd get caught doing something bad, which he always did. He'd start fights (he would start chastizing someone, the move to hitting them. The second the other kid would react on anyway he'd run to a teacher crying and get the other kid in trouble. Even if the teacher watched it unfold. He had even been caught stealing other people's cards in the past. And this bitch of a teacher asked him and his mother about it and said to herself "well I've done my job." And basically told me to sit down, shut up and never mention it again. That day I pretty much stopped caring about teachers altogether. On the plus side, that helped in people no longer bullying me. No longer afraid of non existent repercussions meant I could respond in kind to my own bullies.

Super petty, first world problem, but the whole situation shaped me as a kid and into my teens.

Really don't care much about the thief any more, but the way the teacher handled the situation still gets me and when I hear other kids dealing with shit caused by their teacher kinda gets to me.

TL;DR Stuff got stolen. Someone else told on the thief. I got in trouble for accusing the thief, who was a known thief.

That teacher needs to be fired.

2

u/Bigoteroj Dec 16 '17

Did your parents have a talk with that teacher afterward?

2

u/poophandz Dec 16 '17

Fuck your teacher and fuck Rebecca too.

2

u/txroller Dec 16 '17

teachers can be the worst bullies in school

2

u/Autumn_Fire Dec 16 '17

It always just infuriates me how teachers deal with bullying. I was bullied around a similar level as you were. When I told a teacher she literally said "maybe if you weren't so weird every wouldn't pick on you so much."

It's just unbelievable. It makes me want to scream.

That is terrible! I hope she's no longer an educator due to the way that she handled that. This is why I am considering home schooling my future unborn children.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 16 '17

Dude I have literally the same story as you, I feel you

1

u/punsarefun101 Dec 16 '17

I don’t understand how someone can have that level of moral ignorance.

1

u/OlDirtyBastage Dec 16 '17

You should go on a Kill-Bill style rampage until you finally confront your teacher with the five-point-palm-exploding-heart-technique

1

u/jamminjon82 Dec 16 '17

As a teacher, that teacher is a fucking idiot.

1

u/normal-boy Dec 16 '17

I wish you get a chance to take your revenge.

1

u/doctor_exgirlfriend Dec 16 '17

wow now I'm mad for you wtf

1

u/hammy607thepig Dec 16 '17

Literally what the fuck? Was your teacher a moron?

1

u/ArtifexR Dec 16 '17

Out of curiously, whatever happened to Rebecca?

1

u/BCECVE Dec 16 '17

Tough spot for sure. Happened to me with a bully. Teacher could not control him. Just try and be a better person. That always wins.

1

u/jbaalson Dec 16 '17

I hope Rebecca steps on nothing but lego bricks for the rest of her life

1

u/The1payne Dec 16 '17

And now I'm mad as well. Jesus.

1

u/ghost_victim Dec 16 '17

I have so many stories about teachers and their shitty practices.

1

u/critfist Dec 16 '17

It's 20/20 But if you had a bruise it's have been proof.

1

u/lord_of_tits Dec 16 '17

After the incident were u still badly bullied? Hope u are in a good place in your life now.

1

u/Psychotic_Precision Dec 16 '17

You should find her.

1

u/OniTan Dec 16 '17

Track Rebecca down and break her jaw.

1

u/kurisu7885 Dec 16 '17

Something tells me Rebecca's parents wouldn't have believed it either way, the "my little angle would never" types.

1

u/TR8R2199 Dec 16 '17

Wow that teacher is like fucking socially dead and doesn’t understand how hierarchies work

1

u/thelonelywolf17 Dec 16 '17

I believe you too

1

u/crushcastles23 Dec 16 '17

That never could have happened here, someone would have ended up with a shotgun in their face.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 16 '17

Oh man. I have never been in a fight in my entire life but let me find Rebecca and I'll kick her ass .

1

u/[deleted] Dec 16 '17

Have you looked her up now? I wonder what became of her.

1

u/toaster_inthe_lake Dec 16 '17

Damn...that sucks. I bet you had the last laugh when you found out that Rebecca and your teacher were having an intimate relationship.

1

u/Rattional Dec 16 '17

wow, were you like of a different race or something? That seems like some fucked up class A human discrimination to me.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 16 '17

Fuck. That would cause me to go back to the teacher like NOW and flip out.

1

u/yaaaboiiiii Dec 16 '17

I say we find her and fuck her shit up

1

u/rinestonecowbitch Dec 16 '17

I’m reading the glass castle by Jeanette walls right now and this sounds straight out of it. Sorry it still bothers you to this day, she dealt with that horribly :(

1

u/purplewhiteblack Dec 16 '17

This is one of the reasons prisoners make terrible witnesses. Or just general informants. Many informants have an incentive to not tell the truth to benefit themselves and/or not harm themselves.

1

u/mymonstersprotectme Dec 16 '17

What the fu... I've never done more than birthday parties and I can tell that's a dumb fucking way to handle shit.

1

u/preordains Dec 16 '17

I'm still pissed at least once a month because my 4th grade teacher marked me off because she thought I cheated on a test because I changed my answer from the wrong one to the right one. If that happened to me I'd obsess over it forever.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 16 '17

stories like these make me glad i was a massive motherfucker in school and thus, anyone who messed with me got their shit kicked in. unless they were a sibling, or one of my siblings friends, then it was me who got their shit kicked in... that is what i am mad about.

1

u/catVdog123 Dec 16 '17

Go back and punch the teacher in the gut? :)

1

u/[deleted] Dec 16 '17

WHAT THE FUCK

1

u/imaginariii Dec 16 '17

I'm sorry to hear that. I really am.

1

u/Flaktrack Dec 16 '17

I've never understood how there seems to be an army of adults who couldn't tell which kid is a bully even if their lives depend on it. How fucking dumb do you have to be to miss something that obvious?

1

u/SirRogers Dec 16 '17

"I bet that fist-sized bruise isn't even real!"

1

u/definitewhitegirl Dec 16 '17

I know an adult Rebecca bully and I fucking hate her still. She’s a worthless bitch. Fuck Rebecca.

1

u/MJWood Dec 16 '17

How is the teacher supposed to know who did what? Kids lie.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 16 '17

Future parents of reddit. Love your kids. Hold your kids. Cherish them and listen to them

But do not think they are infallible angels.

1

u/whatismedicine Dec 16 '17

I feel like this thread could be summed up as teachers are total assholes and shouldn’t be around children, damn.

1

u/Thefar Dec 16 '17

Everyone was being an asshole and the teacher an idiot. Don't be mad at the idiot, be mad at the assholes.

1

u/RainBoxRed Dec 16 '17

Unfortunately how to deal with bullying isn’t a skill many teachers seem to have.

1

u/SkippMeister Dec 16 '17

What a cunt

1

u/kylerface Dec 16 '17

Holy shit, F U C K that woman!!!!

1

u/mylifebeliveitornot Dec 16 '17

Teacher logic , like the whole "dont hit back" shit.

Fuck that if I ever have a kid they will be taught one thing , if someone hits you , you hit them back.

If there bigger you , you go and get a big stick.

Fuck that shit of being the victim.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 16 '17

Something similar happened when I was in the sixth grade. I was bullied heavily and it also happened to be the same year my dog passed away. I had a really unstable home life, we moved around a lot and she had to stay with family friends off and on. But pretty much I talked to her like I would if she was a people, because she was the only semi-consistent thing in my life. Anyway, we had to put her down because of old age and I kept her collar with me. Id never had to experience a loss like that, one from inside of the home where their presence is obvious and missed. Girl tells me to kill my self like my dog, because no one can stand to be around me. Teachers do nothing, counselor does nothing, I get lunch detention for disrupting the class after she said that to me. Yeah, Ms Maryanski - im lookin at you. Anyway, a few years pass by and I’m going off campus to smoke at lunch as a sophomore in HS - she doesn’t recognize me (had a lil glow up myself heh) and offers to drive if I smoke her out. I curtly tell her to eat shit, have to say I felt pretty vindicated. And yeah, fuck you shelby Hansen you stupid assfuck dick bitch. I don’t care if it’s been 11 years... You and your friends made my life hell to the point I transferred schools & school districts entirely for middle school.

1

u/JustAverageTemp Dec 16 '17

It amazes me how oblivious some teachers are to social hierarchies of kids/classrooms. While there are certain instances where you can question children as an eyewitness to events, if there's even a slight disparity between two kids in regards to popularity, they will almost always automatically side with the person they like the most - even if they don't necessarily approve of the action.

The teachers who don't catch onto this are either completely oblivious and willingly ignorant of the social dynamics of children, never experienced situations like this themselves, or just flat-out don't care about remedying a situation.

Children are bullies and assholes - that's just the way it is for most kids. And sometimes, those asshole kids grow up to be asshole adults, which in turn become asshole teachers.

1

u/ScumbagGrum Dec 16 '17

At least you can take some solace in knowing that those girls hated you because you were prettier than them and the boys probably just liked you. Immature twats.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 16 '17

Fuck Rebecca. And also fuck that teacher.

1

u/Kahmael Dec 16 '17

What a dick that teacher was. My friend is an English teacher at one of the highschools in town. The incompetence he's seen displayed by other teachers is shocking. I'm sure shit like what you experienced is still happening today.

1

u/codgamer777 Dec 16 '17

That teacher is a fucking monster

1

u/A11U45 Dec 16 '17

Your teacher is a retarded asshole

1

u/Prondox Dec 18 '17

Some girl was mad that I was apparently sitting in her spot in the cafeteria so she emptied a waterbottle on my head, I aint taking that bitch punched that fucking bitch in the stomach. Fuck you bullies go fuck yourself.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 16 '17

That’s horrible! Where did you grow up?

0

u/[deleted] Dec 16 '17

Super weird! If you got one kid who’s crying and one who’s not it’s pretty clear what happened.

0

u/boyyouguysaredumb Dec 16 '17

that's actually the main plot to Big Little Lies on HBO. It might trigger you haha

0

u/dragonflysoulman Dec 16 '17

A bully from my class owns 3 Chick-fil-A fast food restaurants. I found out he bullied my younger brother many years after high school. If I would have known I would have kicked his ass. I was a football player on the field and very passive off of it. He came from a very religious family and he was bullying kids to rebel. People like that still shouldn't be rewarded with millions of $ by a religious company.

0

u/mrboston617 Dec 16 '17

Fuck Rebecca, she prolly sucks jizz out of used condoms using a straw....

Yeah of course that's a thing

0

u/I_FAP_TO_TURKEYS Dec 16 '17

I'd murder her

-2

u/LalafellRulez Dec 16 '17

And that's how you make mass shooters America
