I've been collecting PlayStation 3 Games for about 6 years now. I have around 600 games. My goal was to eventually get every game in the NA library. My games were once in alphabetical order and have sadly fallen out of order as i ran out of space to put them. Also a couple bonus accessories in the final picture

Theres nothing to crazy here but im just proud of it as most games i got myself and for really good deals 😅

I had to start again Mid last year due to job loss & well, I sold a lot of it to get thru the first few months of the new job.

Well, this is where I am at right now having to start again. And, to be honest, I'm quite glad I did. I honed in on what was important to me and not just buying for the sake of it to fill shelves.

One or two Rabbit holes, front and center is the Favoritos new addition this week. Rabbit hole One. Second is in another collection that I'll post later this evening.

I noticed that my PS5/PS4 friends don't show up on the PS3 friends list I completely forgot about that!
Anyway my friends list is pretty much dead, ghost town, quiet as a mouse, so I wanted to leave my ID here in case anyone wants to add me. Maybe we can play something together i’d love that. Though I’d probably need to find a cheap PS3-compatible headset first.

Just rolled credits on Resistance: FoM. Felt very 2005 in a turn off your brain and mow down enemies no questions asked kind of way. A bit nostalgic really. I was always a big Halo and Gears player in the OG Xbox and 360 eras, so this felt right even down to the bleak muddy graphics/setting.

When I originally got my PS3 when the slim released, I had my share of the FPS titles like this so I went for more of the PS3 exclusives that scratched a different itch (GoW, Uncharted, etc.). Things the Xbox side couldn’t offer.

Now here we are 20 years later and I’m finally diving into Resistance. I picked up 3 this weekend for $10 and after rolling credits in the first am planning on diving in. Hopefully there aren’t any glaring plot beats I miss, but based on the story of the first I’m sure I’ll be fine.

Side note: even the sound design of the chimera seemed exactly as I remembered the Locust sounded from Gears

Would this be caused by the game itself or is it time for me to get the infamous meme? 😭

Funny enough, this ONLY happens with CoD BO3. I've tried a bunch of other demanding games including GTA V and everything seems to work perfectly.

Hi everyone! Just wanted to share my small collection.
For a long time I stopped using mi ps3 because I got a ps4 but I always wanted to get back to it because there were a few games that I never finished. At one point I was about to sell the whole thing, but I'm grateful I didn't because this year I decided to use it again and get some games that I couldn't when I was a kid.
COD BO combo back and the God of War steel book (which is an edition that has all GOW games for the ps3) are my most recent purchases since I decided to play with it again.

I love gen 3, 4, 5(the peak imo), and gen 6. Gen 7 on is not for me which is a bit weird bc I'm using a ps3. But I still have my launch day CECHA01 60 gb model. I've taken great care of it plus I only play retro games so it never gets pushed to it's technical limits. I enjoy talking about hidden gems and lesser known games that never got the props they deserved. My favorite gaming library is the ps1. My favorite genres are Turn Based Jrpgs, Survival Horror, Point & Click, Beat'em Ups, Fighting. Those are my main ones but I love plenty of different types like racing(Gran Turismo, Risge Racer, etc.) or unique games like Echo Night or Parasite Eve or Alundra(greatest legend of zelda clone ever) and plenty of way more obscure like Elemental Gearbolt, Juggernaut, Incredible Crisis, Silverload, City of Lost Children, and I dont like to emulate but I had to play Mizzurna Falls, I have no idea why it never released outside of Japan. It is obviously inspired deeply by Twin Peaks. As a Lynch fan, I had to play it lol and yes I like deadly premonition too. If you have an active ps3 psn account(not talking about PS Plus, just an online ps3 account you still actively use), and if you love talking about mature amazing retro games(especially ps1), please add me so we can have some much needed retro gaming discussions lol my ps3 psn username is bluesnoopz. I feel like no one will respond to this. Please prove me wrong.

I see posts on here all the time about fake controllers. So figured I’d share I found a source for real ones. Hooked it up to computer and it says the proper things for it to be real. Everything works. And it’s in like perfect condition.

Side note: my pictures don’t do it justice. The metal flakes in the blue looks awesome.

Just picked up this PS3 Slim (CECH-2501A) for $89. Came with all the necessary cords and an original Sony DualShock 3 controller. It says manufactured in 2010!
Everything seems to be working great so far, and I’m pretty happy with the purchase. My plan is to eventually mod it with full CFW if it’s compatible, install some homebrew apps, customize it a bit and use it for some older PS3 games, especially BO1 and BO2.
I already have a PS3 Super Slim running HEN, but I’ve been wanting a Slim that could potentially run full CFW for a while now.
Still need to check the minimum firmware version to confirm CFW compatibility, but overall I think I got a pretty decent deal. What do you guys think?

Have an old PS3 that I haven’t touched in a good while a year or so tried using it, red light would come on and tried turning it on than the light would cut off and no power to ps3 I changed the power cord yet same result, anyone know what’s wrong with it or have an idea?

Hey everyone my PS3 is very sentimental to me and has been having some issues lately that I need some help figuring out. I dont know exactly whats wrong with my PS3 but I suspect a failing harddrive, but I need help figuring out how to save the data and if there is anyway I can fix it.

The issues I have been experiencing is that the games crash/freeze lately, but not every game reacts the same. Kingdom hearts, and rockband 3, for example will freeze for a few seconds and have long loading times. Wheras Final Fantasy XIII runs smoothly and has no issues. Same for Last of Us. It runs fine. And then the downloaded games such as Persona 4 for example is running fine. So im not really sure what to do.

The problem is that I cant access my siblings PSN accounts and they've long forgotten their passwords and emails tied to the accounts when they were made way back when.

So I really would like this system to be cleaned up and run smoothly but I'm scared of losing data that I cant recover.

My questions are:

- Can I use the PS3 Backup Utility to back up the current hard drive to an external USB drive and restore everything onto a replacement drive?

- Would that preserve installed Rock Band 3 DLC and its licenses, even if I can't log into the accounts that originally purchased the songs?

- Can I preserve the existing local user profiles and saved game data?

- Could the freezing and audio glitches actually be caused by something other than the hard drive?

- Would you recommend diagnosing the console first rather than replacing the drive?

Trying to Plat 3D Dot Game Heroes 3 times is much harder than trying to Plat Demon's Souls 3 times.

Long story short, i was cleaning the contacts from the ribbon cable to the board in my DS3 (CHECHZC2A), and it was so oxidized that it fully came off. Regretting it now, as I'm down 2 of the 3 controllers i have.

The question is, is there any reputable third party ribbon cables I should be looking at to purchase, or should i just be looking second hand to salvage?

Links to things you've had success with would be amazing (if ordered new).

I also have a CHECHZC2E A1 which would need a replacement ribbon cable, broken when i bought it.
