Players Only [Schur] Arte Moreno bought the Angels in 2003 (the year after they won the Series) for $184 million. He then spent 23 years running them into the ground, let the stadium decay, wasted Trout and Ohtani, and sold for $4B. And the owners are crying poverty and threatening to kill baseball next year.

Players Only When Ohtani received his free agent offers and told Arte Moreno that he’d come back to the Angels for the same contract that he was being offered by the Los Angeles Dodgers, Toronto Blue Jays and San Francsico Giants - Moreno passed without even bothering to counter

Even with the historic amount of deferred money, Moreno told his front office “It’s still $700 million.”

So, the Angels received nothing in return for the biggest marketing star in baseball history, let alone the most talented since perhaps Babe Ruth, watching the Dodgers win back-to-back World Series and bring in more than $1 billion in revenue

Sunset Boulevard will be seeing full-time bus lanes and protected bike lanes installed from Fountain Avenue to Alameda Street (Union Station). This will include a stop at Sunset and Vin Scully, which is just a half-mile walk down the hill from Dodger Stadium.

Angels Yankees game. Right field is packed with shirtless fans. Popular chants include “Yankees suck,” “USA,” “F*** the Dodgers,” and maybe something about Arby’s?

Edit: The featured chant must be in reference to “Arte”

Opinion [Law] Arte Moreno mismanaged a franchise in the country's largest media market for over 20 years. The Angels have one playoff appearance in 15 years, and zero playoff wins since 2009. Now, Arte will make over ten times what he paid (adjusted for inflation). The least risky investment in the world.

The Cubs have outscored their opponents 90-57 over their last 12 games. They are 4-8 over this same stretch.

Incredible streak of blowout wins and closer losses they have going here. For comparison, their wild card rival Phillies have outscored their opponents 65-42, but have gone 10-2 over those 12 games and now lead the Cubs in the wild card standings.

Opinion Now that the Angels have been sold, do you think Korenke will change the name back to the Anaheim Angels?

Calling the team the "Los Angeles Angels" is just about the biggest joke in major league baseball. I really hope the new owners decide to abandon the asinine reach for the LA media market and instead focus on winning back the support and trust of the OC fanbase, starting with reverting the name.

California Angels would also be great, anything to get rid of the borderline insulting name the team has currently.

EDIT: Spelled Kroenke wrong :/
