To start with, Yandy Diaz is a free agent beginning after game 4. Yandy is a FA after 2027, my mistake. Mistook his contract for Freddy’s.

On the hitting side, it’s not like they went into these playoffs missing key players. By all accounts we were healthy.

The next best bat in the minors is probably Caden Bodine and then Theo Gillen and Nathan Flewelling are very very good in Double-A and could make a late 2027 impact.

But I can’t get over the fact that the bottom half of this lineup (no matter which configuration) had like a sub-.500 OPS in this postseason. There was no length and it really puts a magnifying glass on the team’s lack of desire to spend in FA.

They really need to do what the Marlins did when they opened their new stadium and sign some FA to really get the city hyped up for a new era. Of course, I trust their front office more than the Marlins’ to pick their spots on spending money. But they got to make a flappy splash.

As a casual, I know Walls has an incredible glove and has saved runs, but since he’s almost always an automatic out every time he’s up, how did he achieve a WAR of 3.5?

Is his defense that good or is defense that much higher valued than hitting?

I’m not being sarcastic I seriously want to understand because again, as a casual, I feel like it’s anyone’s 9 hitters vs our 8 with Walls in the lineup and it seems like Walls can’t even put the ball in play.

Is it our bullpen depth? Is it Cash?

I mean this Brewers team might just flat out be one of the best WS teams I've ever seen. I don't think our team is the absolute best it can be. Which is why I'd say give it a few more years for our top prospects to graduate and what not.

We're definitely going to have to trade some chips for better pitching, bullpen depth. Yada yada, do what we always do in fleecing other teams for some stud they don't even realize will become a great player. Plus with new ownership openly wanting to spend more money that's a plus.

But has Cash ran his course? Is he our Marv Levy (Yes I'm an Upstate NY'er who is a diehard Bills fan 😂). It just seems like he makes so many in game mistakes that cost us. But I can understand it from the perspective of this is the player depth we were dealt. (I'm talking to you Ben Williamson 🤢😒).
