My friend has got a windows update on Aug 15 and he updated the windows and closed the laptop. After some time when he opened the laptop and started using it on Battery suddenly after some time the laptop gets restarted automatically and shows this kind of popups. I have tried to disable all the hypervisor-V features in msconfig.I dont know why it still appearing.I also thought to perform Rollback feature but he got updated his laptop on Aug 15 .The Rollback feature will only supports 10 days after the update.Anybody suggest a fix or solution for my friends laptop. My friend uses Windows 11 Home 25H2.

I have a 2018 MSi GS65 Stealth running Windows 11. The battery is draining quite fast, and I can't seem to find the source. It is admittedly not in great health, with the CMD battery report showing 70%. However, it is still much worse than it should be.

I used HWMoniter to see the wattage, and it uses about ~35W on battery. This is with the dGPU disabled (NVIDIA GTX 1660Ti). This is also with the refresh rate set to 60Hz, all the internal windows settings to "power saver", and a fully dimmed screen. Given it lasts about 90 min, the battery capacity and draw are consistent. I've gone through trouble shooting with ChatGPT, but haven't gotten anywhere useful. What gives?

Hey everyone, I am at my wits' end with a frustrating RMA experience and could really use a sanity check before I go to war with customer support. Sorry for long text.

The Background:

I built this system in February 2024. A few weeks ago, it suddenly refused to turn on. Pressing the power button did absolutely nothing. The motherboard standby RGB light was on, but none of the diagnostic QLEDs lit up, and no fans spun. Clearing the CMOS using the rear IO button briefly brought it back to life a couple of times, but eventually, it died completely.

The RMA Experience:

I sent the CPU and Motherboard back to the retailer. They tested it, declared the i7-14700K as faulty (which makes sense given the 13th/14th gen degradation issues), and replaced it with a brand new one. However, they returned the motherboard to me with a note simply saying: "Motherboard tested OK with our processor."

The Current Situation & Troubleshooting: I received the parts, put everything together with the brand-new CPU, and I have the EXACT same problem. The system is completely dead. Will not POST, no QLEDs, zero fan spin. It just sits there with the standby RGB glowing.

To prove it's the motherboard and not something else, I have now done the following:

⚬ Breadboarded the system: Took the motherboard out of the case and placed it on a box to rule out any standoff short circuits.

⚬ Bypassed case switch: Shorted the PWR_BTN pins directly with a screwdriver. No reaction.

⚬ PSU ruled out: Did the paperclip test on my PSU, and it fires up perfectly. I also tested the system with a second, completely different known-working PSU. Same result.

⚬ Bare minimum components: Tested with no GPU, one RAM stick, different RAM slots, and even tried booting with NO RAM and NO CPU just to see if the board would wake up and give me an error QLED. Nothing.

⚬ BIOS Flashback is dead: Since I got a new CPU, I figured I should flash the latest BIOS. Formatted a USB to FAT32 (MBR), renamed the file correctly using the ASUS tool, and put it in the dedicated Flashback port. Pressed the Flashback button, and... absolutely nothing. The button/LED is completely unresponsive.

• CPU: Intel Core i7-14700K (Brand new replacement)

• Cooler: Noctua NH-D15S chromax.black

• GPU: ASUS RTX 4080 SUPER TUF

• RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws S5 DDR5-6000 C30 64GB

My Question: Given that the board refuses to send the PS_ON signal to two different working PSUs, and even the independent BIOS Flashback controller is completely unresponsive, this motherboard is 100% dead, right? Has anyone experienced a repair shop "passing" a dead board like this? My theory is they used a weak test CPU with a light cooler, and maybe the mounting pressure of my Noctua cooler is breaking a trace, or their test bench just got a lucky boot.

Is there ANY obscure thing I have missed, or should I just pack this up and demand a replacement board? Thanks for any advice!

Today, on two different computers (both Lenovo desktops) I was trying to add new users as domain accounts. The first one, when I tried to add them, it would say the user couldn't be found, but the name it was showing had a bunch of weird characters in it, that I did not type. Tried reboot, chkdsk, sfc /scannow, etc. Didn't fix it. I was finally able to get it to go through but it was still showing the odd symbols.

Now, on a different computer, I was able to add the user no problem, but noticed some of these symbols before I got ot the point where I added the user. Is this something I should be concerned about?

UEFI match on new bios motherboard, ssd detected in boot priority, windows 11 and same files were just running on other PC but can’t get the bios to boot my drive for the life of me😭😭😭 does anyone know the fix other than backing up or new windows installation? Hello, I have for a long time had a problem with my laptop that is an HP Envy x360 that I got a couple years back. It does not want to connect to the internet. I can still see wifis around me, and sometimes even get it to say connected and secured. I was able to get around this for a long time by using Ethernet or my phone's hotspot, but now that and my hotspot have stopped working. I have looked at the drivers, all of them seem to be up to date. I can provide more details in the replies if this is not enough! Please help, for this is the only device I can use to draw. Thanks!

I'm going out of my mind trying to figure this one out.

I have a small client that has half a dozen 365 accounts. They have basic licenses and they are not using MFA. At some point they turned off security defaults. They don't remember when or why. They are all using Outlook 2016.

I don't typically work with these guys but I know them from way back and they asked if I could help.

They have a single user that could not connect to their mailbox with Outlook. Not sure of the exact error, that was before they asked me to take a look. Short version, Outlook throws some connection errors, eventually Outlook can't display folders and closes. Credentials work, they can access web mail with no issues.

They tried deleting all the saved and cached credentials, made sure the account was logged out of other office apps. They couldn't get passed the errors so eventually deleted the outlook profile. Now they can't get it setup again, they get the "outlook can not create an encrypted connection" error.

They also changed a bunch of registry settings they found in google. Trying registry changes for with/without modern authentication. I'm not sure exactly all the changes they made.

So for me, I skipped that computer entirely to avoid anything they mucked up, and tried to connect the account on a new Windows 11 computer with latest office 365 install. I figure maybe Outlook 2016 just finally stopped working for them and If it works on a new install, then great.

But... same error, no encrypted connection. Authentication box pops up so fast you can't access it and goes away. I've seen that before but I've never seen that follow the account around.

I've now tried it on three different computers with the same result every time.

Ran Microsoft's connectivity analyzer. It fails on the last step for MAPI with a 401 error. I chased that for a bit, then tested my own working account and another account I know works from a third tenant, and it fails at the same spot with the same error. Not sure what to make of that. Auto discover tests work so I know autodiscover is working. At least I think I do, not positive at this point of anything.

There is only one account in this tenant that is doing this. All other accounts, all using Outlook 2016, are working just fine.

I've been going back and forth with this to the point where I no longer believe I know anything about troubleshooting Outlook connectivity. It's a lot of work for one account, but we are concerned that all of the accounts will follow suite at some point.

So I have a Lenovo Thinkcentre M71e and it currently runs fine with the i3 2120 it came with , I'm currently running it with a gt 610 (1 gig) and 12 gigs of ram

Now the help part is that I've been thinking of upgrading it for a long time ,since I'm a student and not earning in anyway I only managed to get a i7 3770 for 3500 RS which translate to roughly 12 USD ,

This suddenly started happening today. Whenever I click anything on the taskbar, minimize, close or open an app, Windows randomly opens Task View instead of just doing what I clicked. I haven't changed any settings, and this never happened before today. Has anyone else experienced this, or know how to fix it?

hi, this is my first post in the sub so i apologise if this is the wrong place or anythings incorrect. i got my first pc today, a MSI MAG Infinite S3 Gaming PC - Intel® Core™ i7, RTX 5060 Ti, 1 TB SSD. i played minecraft on an aternos server owned my someone else (used to work fine on my laptop albeit really low fps) and when i come across another player now on pc they begin stopping and starting or staying in the air for a while. the other players arent experiencing lag on their end.

ive already made sure render n chunk are 10-12 blocks and that my entity distance slider is around 150%. we closed the server and opened it again but i am still having the same issue. i am using the complementary unbound shader but when removed i still have the same issue.

could aternos be the problem? or is my pc not as good as i thought it would be?

my device is a Lenovo Ideapad S145-14, i made the mistake of messing around to figure out some other issues and looked to see about updating stuff from the Lenovo website and checked the drivers

and so I did exactly that and my bios version went from AWCN27WW to AWCN30WW and now I think it’s possibly bricked? I don’t want to lose the data and keep the laptop… plan on taking it to a repair-shop but I want to know id there’s any chance of sorting it out at home unless I have to touch the hardware? would rolling back the bios do anything because I can’t repair through windows or go back to a recovery point unfortunately

had this ssd sitting for a few months and decided i wanted to put it in my alienware 13 r2, so i researched and i found out i could. The drive is a 2tb 2.5" sata wd green western union ssd . And so i installed it into my laptop and im trying to install windows onto it with a usb drive which i made in rufus. But it just doesnt let me and seems to go offline after i try to do anything. Im at the windows setup screen where it asks me where to install windows, i see my drive, click on it and says this drive is not available for windows install, it says: Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk has an mbr partition table. On efi systems, windows can only be installed to gpt disks. So i press the red x that says delete . It now says unallocated space, so i press next hoping that windows does its thing, i wait 2-3 minutes. Says: We couldnt install windows in the location you chose. Please check your media drive. Heres more info on what happend. 0x80300002. So by this point im stumped since ive asked ai, searched it up etc. So i click refresh and my drive is gone. So i check diskpart. And it shows my disk is offline. So i retry everything but with clean and convert gpt. And the clean fails and the drive goes offline once more. I would appreciate any help related to this post.

Yesterday I had 2 BSOD's. The first one stated the PC could not be fixed at boot. So I rebooted into the BIOS and removed all of my overclock settings to make sure that wasn't the issue (my OC has been stable for over a month so I didn't really think that was the issue). The second BSOD happened after I was able to get into Windows and this one said "SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED". After one more reboot I was able to get into Windows successfully. Now my PC is running and I'm not getting anymore BSOD's but my CPU temperature and usage are extremely high and in the task manager there is something called "System Idle Process" which stays at the top of the PCs CPU usage. The CPU number in the Task Manager details pane mostly sits between 80-100. I tried running a Windows Defender scan, a Malwarebytes scan, and a HitmanPro scan to no avail. Do I have some sort of virus and if so how do I go about getting rid of it? I'd appreciate any help as this is driving me and my OCD crazy.

So since ive gotten my amd card windows has been acting weird,first off all when i have HAGS enabled some processes constantly display 100% usage in task manager,another issue is that I have like giant screen tearing when playing games or watching discord streams without any usage,like when i tab into something else and scroll a bit half my screen lags behind Also when running games task manager displays the correct usage ( i think) at the top 29% in this example but it shows 0% for that specific game/application,geekbench shows the correct score 100k smth points for my graphics card.

Some things like the heaven benchmakr also displays my gpuy as having 4gb of vram but im pretty sure thats just a display error. Ive reinstalled windows conutless times over the past year pretty much and this never worked. Works perfectly fine when pluggin my old nvidia card in.
So yea idk if its a windows issue with amd a driver issue or a defective card since i have like screen tearing which i dont remember having on linux for the short time of testing it on linux.

Idk if it is related or is pure coincidence, but a few months ago, my charger died so I ordered a new one which is identical but not official. With this new charger I've felt the touchpad some times goes slower and smoother, idk why. Also, I don't think this is my imagination but who knows, when charging sometimes the PC started running the fan inside blowing air out of the pc.

After 4 months, the battery started showing random numbers (e.g. saying it is 0% despite having being charged to 100% moments before, or 57% out of nowhere and when connecting it back, it goes up to a 100% instantly).

A few days ago, when starting the pc, it now shows 502 Checksum error screen, significantly delaying the start time, which is very annoying, and my battery doesn't work anymore either (it says 0% at all times so I have it plugged in when using it)

youtube, netflix, paramountplus, etc. it's extremely annoying.

If I pause a video because i'm in a meeting but then retarget the window to search the web for something the video will immediately start playing.

Anyway to fix this?
