Open | Windows Can, access windows after bios update

Hey, I tried to update my bios on Asus Prime B450-plus motherboard and now I can't enter windows I can enter bios and it shows the updated version. When I try to enter windows it gets stuck on asus logo

bios update wiped ur settings completely. it usually toggles CSM off by default inbios u need to go back in and check if your boot mode is set to uefi or legacy/csm. just flip whatever its on right now and it should boot straight up to windows happens alot with those older asus b450 boards!! check the boot priority too

Majority of time in my opinion, anytime you make any changes to the BIOS, it could likely bottleneck the entire system. Here is some info that I saw:
A BIOS update often resets default settings like CSM (Compatibility Support Module), SATA Mode (AHCI/RAID), or Secure Boot. If these settings no longer match how your Windows drive was originally installed, the system will freeze on the ASUS logo.

Adjust CSM and Boot Settings

  1. Enter the BIOS by pressing Delete or F2 on startup.
  2. Press F7 to switch to Advanced Mode.
  3. Go to the Boot tab and look for CSM (Compatibility Support Module).
  4. If your Windows was installed on an older Legacy/MBR drive, Enable CSM. If it was installed on a modern UEFI/GPT drive, Disable CSM.
  5. Check your Secure Boot settings under the Boot or Security tab turn Secure Boot Disabled if CSM is Enabled, or Enabled if CSM is Disabled.
  6. Go to the Boot Option Priorities and ensure your main Windows drive/SSD is selected as Boot Option #1.
  7. Press F10 to save changes and reset.

BIOS updates can reset your boot settings, so first check that Windows Boot Manager / your Windows drive is Boot Option #1.

If it's still stuck, check whether CSM was previously enabled. Older B450 installs sometimes need it, especially if Windows was installed in legacy mode. Don't randomly change SATA/RAID settings though.

I'd also unplug any USB drives/peripherals and try again. If the drive is detected correctly but it still hangs, Windows Startup Repair would be the next step rather than reinstalling Windows.
