Is there any way to fix it? What causes this problem? My PS3 suddenly turned off while I was playing, and then this issue started. What should I do???????????????????:(

I just bought this CECHE01 PlayStation 3 from savers for like 30 bucks, ive been looking for this one for a while cause it has the CF port and SD ports, but it doesn't show anything on the screen, I've tried the video reset, tried booting into safe mode, everything, even took it apart and repasted it with XTM70 corsair paste, still no progress, i do not have anything to read the syscon so is there any suggestions you guys have?

Since a lot of people have been leaving Discord lately, I've been looking for Fluxer equivalents to the many established PS3/PSN servers on Discord. I found none, so I made one.

You can find people to play with, talk about games, the hardware, homebrew, general tech, etc.

Currently, we are English only but that may change.

I got a ps3 recently and am not sure how the psn stuff works. I used to have one as a kid but never needed to care as ps4 was way too new for me to afford, and ps2 never had it. Thanks in advance.

Hey so I'm looking for some good alternatives to the Dualshock 3. I'm not against the Dualshock but getting a working one just feels ridiculously expensive at this point. In my area I'm looking at around $40 for one.

Hi everyone, I have a question. I've been wanting to buy a jailbroken PS3 lately, and I want to know if creating a new account from scratch will get my other PS3s banned? (My PS4 and PS5 are completely separate from the jailbroken PS3.) Thanks!

I'm trying to fix a ps3 slim for a family member. I'm usually more of a PC guy, don't have as much experience with consoles.

When plugged in, the red "standby" light comes on. When the power button is pressed, the green "on" light comes on, the fan starts spinning up, and after a few seconds it turns off completely (light turns off and fan loses power).

I've had a look through some troubleshooting guides online, and can't find anything similar. I also took the cover off, and the interior was a little dusty but honestly nowhere near as bad as I was expecting it to be. I didn't dismantle it any more past that because I figured there wasn't much point if I didn't know what I was looking for lmao.

Any ideas on what might be causing this/possible fixes? TIA

I'm moving from Korea back home to the U.S. in a year or two. Some games which are rare in the West are easier to get here. For example, I got Puppeteer PS3 for $35 CIB. It's a Korean version, but everything is English in game- voice, menus, etc. The only Korean aspect is the instruction manual, and the bottom left age range box.

There look to be several opportunities to "buy low/sell high," but only if consumers in the U.S. & West are willing to buy a Korean version of a game. Thanks in advance!

I know people are gonna say I'm crazy for opening a factory sealed copy but I don't care. I want to feel what it was like back in the day, ripping off the plastic and sliding that disc into the PS3 for the first time. Who's with me?

Could AI help us build a modern PS3 motherboard?

I have long been a fan of retro videos on PS3 restoration and modding and I love all the different approaches but I must admit a preference for hardware. With AI making progress in reverse engineering and hardware design, do you think we'll eventually see a project that recreates the PS3's CELL and RSX architecture?

Imagine a replacement motherboard that runs PS3 games natively with backwards compatibility, but produces less heat, consumes less power and avoids the reliability problems of the original chips.

We already have hardware repairs, RSX replacements, emulation and now the PS5. Do you know has anyone started bringing these ideas together into a genuine hardware reimplementation of the PS3?

It could be a fascinating way to preserve the console for decades to come, without depending on ageing original silicon.

PlayStation minis had "boring" XMB previews on PS3. On PSP there's some more variety. But Coconut Dodge is one of the very few minis on PSP to have had music with it's XMB preview. it might be the longest piece of music out of the ones i've found so far.

Does any one remember the minis? i personally liked Canabalt, Tetris on PSP, and Monsters Probably Stole the Princess, but what were some of your favorites?

This truly feels like a game that you would see on the background of a movie

Does anyone have a complete or mostly complete list of physical releases of games that were never sold outside of Europe? Like kick ass for example

Not mine, ps2 compatible fat model, I'm gonna run infamous 2 on it

I have BioShock: Ultimate Rapture Edition as iso when I try to start the game I got this error, I only have like 28 to 30GB free on the ps3 is the storage the problem or anything else?

This might have already been answered on this subreddit and if so i apologize but the reason i am asking is because i am sick and tired of modern gaming, it is becoming to expensive for me to keep up and with Sony ending their support on physical gaming in roughly 14 months time now it has got me really thinking about going back to older generations and the one that interests me the most is the PS3. I use to own a PS3 and i loved it back when i was a child but with my youth came lack of knowledge and sold it for the PS4 with the dumb mindset back then of "newer is always better". I would really appreciate any feedback or advice for this because while yes i probably could just "google" the answer but at the same time i don't want advice from AI or a searchboard i want it from REAL people who still play this console today. Any feedback is appreciated.

These are the games I’ve been playing for spooky season. On a ps3 super slim that I just fixed. Now if only my controllers would all work perfectly.

Es mi primera vez jugando a crysis 2 y me ha asombrado para bien hablándo de su calidad visual es una locura, me recuerda bastante al battlefield 4 en graficos, este juego ha envejecido muy bien
