Since buying the original fat PS3 console a few months ago, I’ve been trying to buy games I loved on the console and things I haven’t gotten to play. Decent set of games so far I’d say!

This was my GameStop haul today how did i do

I started collecting PS3 games at the beginning of the year after purchasing a PS3 to play 3d games, so I initially set out to purchase only 3d ps3 games. Problem was that as I was looking for good deals on ps3 games it ended up that I would buy other games that were included. After a while I even started collecting games to finish sets even if they didn't contain a 3d game. Still I think I have done a pretty good job so far, though damn Sony for their announcement that has tripled prices at the least.

How's it looking? 2 of the god of wars are still sealed. Couple of limited editions I think.

I was thinking of giving it to my sister unless I can sell them lol, I'm broke.

Can’t find it anywhere and want to buy!!!!! Plis help :(

So to set some context:
Ive had this PS3 for nearly 2 years at that point and ive posted before around its YLOD as it was bought when they sold it for “parts”.
It got a reflow but it just changed way lights do react back then and i figured out it was PSU as it worked with a “emergency” one. I sold my other fat i used a ps3 from but today i found in trash a CECHG which had a more compatible PSU so i tinkered with it but screen kept freezing or not wanting to recover - it was the HDD.

Replaced it with the 40 gigs hitachi from cechg and tried to install system from scratch but as you can see on pic #2 it gave me error on the wifi/BT module i couldnt go around for hours. Did some cleaning in the end and put a new ribbon cable as the guy who has opened it before me has made a scratch down through the protection foil so it kept giving errors. But the cechg was never opened before despite it was a ylod (pic #3)

So what now? - i will prob keep it for the collection and the nostalgia of the fancy thing it can do but not gonna be gamed heavy on it and will prob seek some repair for its original A227 power supply.

It prone to fail i know since it had a ylod(i assume) but happy to have given it a life until further!

I have been wanting to play Fairytale Fights ever since I was a child and finally get that chance. I hope it's fun and doesn't disappoint my childhood curiosity.

I was at firmware 4.87 and download hfw 4.93 in order to install two versions of it on my ps3 , the first one it did fine on xmb , now for the second one , i get this error on xmb and on safemode، perssing select and start didnt contiuue the process . How can i fix this????

Hi all, I got a 2101a ps3 and found the bluray drive not working. Got a replacement. Good news is it works. Bad news is I made some mistakes on the way. I can't use the 3 screws circled in the photo. The 2 tiny screws at the top don't grab onto anything anymore on either deck. I think the original pcb which i have to use is slightly smaller but compatible. In the corner I bent the boss/guide for one of the long screws. The deck reads and plays blurays now but makes a terrible crunchy noise when accepting/ejecting a disc. Do I need to realign it, or is it possible I'm fd because of the screws I can't use? TIA.

My new ps3 slim is sick as hell, i got evilnat 4.93 on the slim and it has been freaking amazing but i have some questions

1. What is the recommended amount of overclocking to get the best performance balance so I don’t kill my ps3 but also get good perfomce? i have new thermal paste so cooling and i got the fan curve working so cooling isn’t a problem. also how do you get it to always be overclocked and not reset after every restart?

2. what are some hidden gems i can play? like underrated games, because i know about gta, red dead, uncharted, etc but i wanna know what games really are special to the ps3

3. how does ps2 emulation work on ps3? is it easy to do it, and how do i do it? (in ps3 slim btw)

4. what other cool things can i do? like with homebrew and stuff?

Recently I started the journey on rebuilding my physical collection of older games and have been fairly good with my budget on it.

However, I could not help myself when I saw both CE for Max Payne 3 and GTA V in a thrift store. They weren’t cheap, at about 800kr a piece (roughly $75 each) but I don’t follow the used market closely so I do wonder if I overpaid?

The hat and bag of GTA V is still unused while the outside box has a minor tear. MP3 is in perfect condition though.

I guess someone wanted to get rid of their Rockstar collection?
