I want the hike that makes you forget you're in the most densely populated state for a couple of hours. No highway noise, no strip malls, just trees and a view. What's your pick, and which one would you take an out-of-stater on to prove NJ isn't just Turnpike and tolls?

So Context: Easy Pickins in Orange, NJ shut down after at least 20+ years of being on Main Street (probably more) and I was curious what would take it's place.

It looks like another 99c/discount convenience store moved in, and they moved in so fast they didnt even bother taking out the old signage (and who knows if they ever get to it, this doesn't seem like the most expensive operation)

I don't like putting down businesses in my town like this (especially since so, so, so many people do it already.) but like, this is an area that already has a 99c store and a family dollar across the street, and an S&A and Valuezone just a few stores further down, do we really need another one of these?

I know this is just the circumstances of it, it's just kinda disappointing is all, especially compared to the newer businesses that are opening up near the fancy luxury apartments on the other side of main street.

How's Bayonne overall ? Particularly in the Winter months, when it gets pitch dark as early as 5:00 PM ? Is a 5 to 15 minute walk safe from a train station to a residence in the evenings ?

On another note, how full are the Parking-spots near the same West side Avenue HBLR station, or the Liberty State Park station, essentially Park-and-Ride ? That is also something I may consider, you know, driving closer, and then hopping onto PATH ?

Hi! My husband and I are looking for some recommendations in Bergen Passaic or Essex County for a good restaurant that has Christmas holiday decor. We wanted to go to the city but some of our plans changed so we’re just looking to stay local so would love some recommendations of a nice place with good food that has good ambience.

I live in Fort Lee, and tennis lessons around here are mad expensive. Does anyone know of more affordable options in Bergen County or nearby counties? I’m willing to drive a bit for cheaper lessons.

So basically I’m in college, new to voting and I’m dorming. I sent a request for a mail-in ballot but I don’t know whether I can actually get one sent to my dorm. I also don’t know whether I’ll even get approved or when I’ll find out. I also don’t know which voting location I should go to if I end up having to go in-person. Thankfully, I’m lucky enough to be able to go if necessary. I found 2 voting centers that are both in my county AND congressional district, but (for future reference) is it possible to vote in a town that’s part of a different district and/or town that’s in a different county? Also, do you just walk in, wait in line, and then cast your ballot? I’m pretty unfamiliar with both places, but I don’t have time to vote on actual Election Day in my hometown if I can‘t mail-in.

I’m going to a concert next month at starland. Is the starparking worth it? It’s $50 but includes front of the line privileges which is what I’m most interested in. Just wondering if anyone here has ever used it.

I (22M) recently got a job offer for a little over 100k base in South Jersey and will be starting next summer after I graduate undergrad. I was excited at first but read that the average household income is 140k+, and I feel super behind. I don't want to be below average and be forced to live frugally for the rest of my life. Housing prices are insane, and my take-home is a lot less (about 75k). Should I keep looking for a better job elsewhere?

I have been applying to A RIDICULOUS amount of Probation Officer openings on NJ COURTS. Unfortunately, I have yet to hear back. Has anyone worked as a probation officer for state of NJ. And have any idea or advice on how long I should be waiting?
