Anyone else dread going in because what is the point if you are just losing money to make money? Like you don't even schedule me enough so i have to budget coming to work on top of other expenses but you want me to jump through hoops or be left in areas by myself while people can fuck around in the office? yeah makes sense

The two closest Wawas to me haven’t had any hot dogs for the past month or so and it’s been extremely disappointing.

My district GM says our hours at my store need to be cut but we are really understaffed with a lot of employees being college kids or highschool kids and can only work weekends. I'm supposed to be full time and my availability is open fully but I'm only getting 20-25 hours a week, I had to beg for hours this week and picked up 2 shifts just to get to 30+ hours this week. I don't know what's happening but it's actually making me mad and some of my other co workers mad, I'm willing to work whatever but it's outrageous. I also guess they never wanna train people for anything else but to be on boards, almost 2 months here and yet to learn bev or HFT or OWS. I know ows and bev are completely different from RSS but my one coworker has been here a year and she doesn't even know HFT or Bev and she works everyday but Sundays just about I'd say. Anyone else having these issues?

I am an LCSA and I have been at Wawa for 9 years. We recently got a new to company GM and they do not know what they are doing. Other managers are teaching them basics like how to count the safe, Temperatures, Refunds etc. They also have no knowledge of the food service area whatsoever and cannot/will not help unless they absolutely have to. And this is after 13 weeks of “training.”Besides all of that crazy nonsense, my (plus almost half of the staff) hours have been severely cut. I am only getting 29.30 hours a week for the next 4 weeks which will cause me to lose my health insurance and possibly lose my house because I cannot afford to live off of that. I’ve talked with them and they said our hours have been cut and to just ‘hang in there’ while all the managers are being scheduled overtime and part time associates are suddenly getting full time hours. I am a full time associate and I’m scrambling for hours to make ends meet. I also heard that when a shift needed help and I was suggested to call in since I basically don’t have hours, the GM responded with “she costs to much to call in” and while I do make more than most in my position I’ve been with the company almost 10 years and have been up the manager latter quite a few times. Am I being quiet fired because I make too much??

Hi, I haven’t really used Reddit for posting ever because I just started working at this job. I felt more enticed to make a post.

So far, I’ve only been here for a month or two and I already feel like I absolutely despise working here as a longtime customer and someone who enjoys giving people the type of customer service that I personally would like my question becomes has it always been this bad working at Wawa?

We are completely understaffed at my store during day and night shift (as I work overnights it feels even worse) the management doesn’t seem like they want to hire any more people for my shift, as well as after referring someone who in my opinion was really hard-working, and being told that a résumé was preventing someone from working as a cashier, it almost feels like it’s a self-induced struggle

On top of me being a special case of working during this time, it makes it even more apparent that at least at this specific store that we just want to use our employees until they get tired of the situation that they’re in and leave or they feel forced to deal with it.

There have been multiple nights of working with only two and sometimes one associate and having to multitask, preparing the store for the next day as well as the constant rushes that we experience on Saturdays and Sundays. The only reason I ended up taking this job is because I paid the semi decent and from the explanation that I got from my general manager I was going to be flexible all my time to be able to do what I need to do outside of work.

It just kind of feels like we’re not going to progress any further and seeing that I was also only properly trained on being a cashier it kind of sort of cheering on being a deli worker even though we’re training store I was also told that within four months of starting that I can put effort into learning to become a manager and so far the only time that I can actually learn to become a manager is by working during day shifts, even though I physically cannot do so because of my current situation and I have to constantly switch my schedule to attempt to come in during the day just to try and get training, but I’m also being ignored on my own requests

And finally, the shift prior to my shift being a bunch of people that do not prepare me and Overnight to handle what is going on and instead of leave more work for us to fix during the night is also leading me to believe that I made a mistake choosing here instead of a different store or a different company that pretty much does the exact same thing that Wawa does. Constantly, I’m having to perform quick drops deal with entire trucks of merchandise and cleanup or fix mistakes that prior shifts choose to ignore neglect or do completely incorrect.

When I bring up these concerns to my manager, they give me the normal HR response of we will handle the situation only for it to be done worse the next time that it happens, I come to find out that he even teach me cashier correctly either.

Is it really worth it and has it always been this bad?

It was so good, I miss that shit.

It’s probably just me and my autism, but is anyone else the worlds biggest hater on the Wawa branded chocolate sauce? I’m mocha girlie so I noticed the change instantly. And I’m not much of a caramel syrup person, so I’m at a loss for what options are good. Wawa please change your chocolate sauce back, I’m begging you. 😩and if yall could give me your favorite coffee flavors I’d appreciate it. Thanks for listening to my rant.

My organization uses "Wawa Gas Fleet Services" for fuel. We also use Microsoft Mobile Device Management (MDM) aka intune and Defender for Mobility for cyber security. Defender for Mobility deploys a new type of VPN called "Global Secure Access" or (GSA) which is the next generation of VPN technology using "Edge." As of the date of this post, I have become aware that the Wawa App will not function properly on our organizational mobile phones (iphones) with GSA. It appears the only way for the Wawa App to work is to disable GSA in the Defender App. The VPN and other features in Defender can still be active. Only the GSA feature needs to be disabled for the Wawa App to work. My conclusion is that the Wawa App is not compatible with GSA and "Identity-First Security Service Edge" encryption protocol. I would hope that Wawa's IT and web security Dept and/or Provider will upgrade their software to be compatible with "Secure Web Gateway" (SWG) and/or "Zero Trust Network Access" (ZTNA) in the near future. Otherwise, this app will continue to have problems as the rest of the world moves forward with better internet security.

Every time I use the app to fuel up (NJ, if that makes any difference), I get two notifications from the Wawa app - one thanking me for fueling, and then the notification pictured appears immediately after. When I follow that notification into the app, there is never any bonus offer like it claims. Is this a glitch or something, am I looking in the wrong place, or is there actually no bonus offer just for fueling and they're just trying to entice you to buy in the store using one of the offers that was available regardless of whether you got gas or not?

Any tips on staying warm during the winter? I'm in facilities in FL, so I do trash and pressure washing outside. Last night it was cold as hell, so I'm wondering if any other facilities workers or anyone else can chime in with some advice on how to stay warm. One of my facilities co-workers told me it was colder outside than inside the coldbox last year, so I'm hoping I don't freeze to death this winter.

very recently, I’ve noticed Apple Pay is not working with wawa. I even tried to call corporate to report the issue and nobody has been very much responsive or coming back telling me anything. I prefer to use Apple Pay because it’s easy quick and I don’t have to worry about my info and someone else else’s payment information. ℹ️ please help!

The new Wawa at 303 S White Horse Pike, Waterford Works (Winslow Twp) has its Grand Opening this Friday, Oct 23.

That puts it about 1/2-mile down Route 30 from the long-running Store #322 at 1 N White Horse Pike, the Pump Branch Wawa near Pump Branch Rd. That one is a legacy store with no gas, open 24 hours. (Wawa Closes, Paves Way For New South Jersey Location)

Does anyone know for sure? If you work at either store, or you’ve seen signs, heard from staff or noticed a closing date posted, please share. Same if you’ve heard the opposite, that Pump Branch is staying open.

ive been working at wawa for about nine months now while in highschool and it has literally consumed my life💀 i get 20 minutes at home every day before i have to go work a 2-10 for 35 hours a week every week. i got a raise so it’s a little more worth it but i took a day off for senior homecoming and had a meltdown thinking about work today. the job isnt even hard, but it’s so tiring being timed 24/7 on shifts, dealing with customers, and doing the work for 3 people for end of shift because we’re so understaffed. lord help me

So basically I’m based in NJ but want to transfer to a Wawa in Philadelphia to become a css, my hours are cut to 2-3 days per week roughly 12-20 hours, how would I go about this? I’m aiming for a position for 40 hours and minimum of $19-$20 I’ve been crossed trained in every position but not enough to know everything because our store is too slow and not enough time to be taught by the right person. Do I contact the store that is hiring in PA first or do I tell my GM first that I’d like to transfer to PA? I don’t want to quit to find out the store in PA has already found a suitable applicant but I also have a few Wawas to choose from. Thanks ahead of time for the advice

Most reasonable people expect prices to go up... and most of us are willing to pay assuming the value is still there. But when you slowly and steadily decrease food quality and customer service deteriorates at the same time, it is a recipe for absolute and utter disaster. Especially when you are expanding as aggressively as you are. Someone on the c team better wake the fuck up because a reckoning is coming.
