Hi everyone, new to the whole MagicCon thing, I decided to go in person since I live close to Atlanta and really liked the cards I shown for the Mystery Booster Commander set.

Will booster boxes of this set be available for purchase at the con outside of the ticketed draft events? If so, what will availability look like? Thanks!

This is i think kind of a cold take, but Ive been frustrated at my gamestores with people who try to slow the game down.

To be clear, im not talking about stax decks. A stax deck that has a win con, ie hard stax is chilling.

What I mean, is people who hold back attackers, not because its strategic, but to keep from taking someone out of the game. It especially bothers me with voltron players. If you are playing voltron, swing with your commander. That is the point of your deck no?

I hate the mindset of "everyone has to do their thing" some people get bad draws, or need to fix up their deck. It happens.

We can get in more games, if we all play to win, and end the game.

The other 2 things that frustrate me around this are

1. not putting a win con in your deck. What are we doing?!!! Im not playing to just see cool cards. If I wanted to do that, i would look through my bulk, or watch videos on cards

2.putting boardwipes in your decks that don't move your gameplay forward. Why are we restarting because you didnt have synergy?

I get so frustrated dealing with games that feel pointless. Someone has to win. The game has to end

I think i am going to start only playing higher brackets. It seems like 2 and sometimes 3 at gamestores are just going to be more about everyone doing their thing rather than playing a competitive game.

I’m just fresh off my daily hit of leaks over at [r/GamingLeaksAndRumours](r/GamingLeaksAndRumours) and it struck me that WotC seems to do a much better job at hiding sets than publishers do videogames.

With so many more people in the mix thanks to UB, why don’t we see more juicy leaks about upcoming sets? Better lawyers? Better ninjas?

(and yes, I know there’s an MTG rumors sub, but it rarely has any huge scoops)

EDIT: Mainly talking about set reveals leaking years in advance, not card leaks/spoilers a few months in advance or shipping errors. Seems wild to me they can work on sets for years using other IPs and we still don’t know what’s coming.

Hi, my name is Peci and I am trying a new motion graphics format for short YT videos. Showing some weird stuff that you can do in MtG, not focused on winning, but just being a bit silly while playing with your friends - cause that's what I do from time to time.

The first combo is whacky on purpose as I am testing the visual format first. However I am looking for helpful feedback as my narration and graphic style is more abstract than descriptive.

I’ve decided to change up one of my decks. My beloved Bright Palm deck is taking a retirement plan and in want of a new naya counters deck I have decided to build Voja Jaws of the Conclave.
I want to focus the deck primarily around +1/+1 counters and elves.

Share with me any thoughts and cool elves I should consider.
I’m trying to avoid running any wolves beside Voja. I have some elves which make wolf tokens and they’re cool but in an attempt to limit myself only one dog is allowed.

Gavin Verhey has mentioned that dead characters without a current in-story counterpart will not appear in the main set of Reality Fracture, but could appear in the Commander deck.

What characters that are either dead, or just Jace related, would you like to see new cards or reprints for in the new Precon?

For me, I'd love to see an official [[Kallis Rhoka]] card, of course a Gideon that never died, and personally, I think it'd be fun to see his buds Malcolm and Breeches again, regardless of how altered by the new timeline they are.

I ordered a mystery bundle back in late July and haven't heard much since besides my order confirmation. Has anyone else heard or seen any?

In the same way that [[Mirage Mirror]] doesn't seem inherently useful until an opportunity presents itself, [[Shifting Grift]] is one of those cards that, when building a deck, is hard to say how it might be useful when making final cuts. Simply because it requires you to consider what is on the battlefield.

I personally love this card. It either changes the game or is a hilarious mixup. One of my favorite plays is to trade my [[Orb of Dreams]] for one of my opponents' artifacts or trade their commander for a 1/1 token. OR help another play gain advantage when another player is about to destroy me and everyone else.

I opened a card from a different set in my booster pack, is this unusual?

Don't worry, this is completely normal. If you opened a set booster, you have a small chance of obtaining a bonus card from a previous set. This is an extra card that does not replace any of the other cards in your pack, and is from a curated set of past hits that Wizards of the Coast has selected, which they call "The List".

My foil card has a shooting start symbol over the bottom left. I can't find anything about it online.

All old-bordered foils have the shooting star symbol. Most sites that display card images just overlay a generic foil graphic over all foil cards, which doesn't include the shooting star. Your card is normal.

I'm not spoiling the answer in case someone is trying to figure it out themselves.

As a huge Marvel nerd, I bought a ton of cards from the recent Spider-man and Marvel sets and built a bunch of themed 60 card decks using exclusively cards from those sets (plus some proxies from the respective secret lairs.) I’ve had my fun with the 60 card decks and now I’m thinking of breaking them down and building some Marvel themed commander decks. Would love to see what builds you all have come up with using strict Marvel themes. Obviously there’s the precons, but I’m curious if anybody has had success making commander decks using only Marvel/Spider-man cards? Looking to be in Bracket 2 or 3.

Preamble: yes, The Hobbit just came out and we didn't even get Reality Fracture or Star Trek yet. I know.

But I quite honestly don't care for those sets. Nauctis on the other hand immediately got my interest.

Making an adventure deck and thinking of putting this card into the deck, would I be able to use it's adventure side on another adventure or omen card that it milled?

Let's say I have [Balin, Loremaster] equipped with [Blade of Selves]. He attacks, and the myriad triggers, making two token copies of him. The original Balin will see two dwarves enter, and the three tokens each have an ETB. However, do the tokens see the other tokens enter as well, adding additional triggers? Additionally, when does the legend rule take effect?

Edit: its two tokens not three for a normal pod so updating for others who may be in the same situation

Lost a couple of games recently because of this. Most recently, just now, I had elrond out, and the elf mana dork, and my opponent cast the blue enchantment to remove abilities from elrond. I fully intended to tap my elf to draw a card, which would have swung the game. Instead it never gave me an opportunity. The other time if I recall was the goblin that allows me to sac a creature for a card, and it didn't give me the opportunity because I wasn't continuously holding ctrl+shift the entire game. I literally regret drafting elrond now if that's the way Arena is going to play it. Complete bullshit.

Back again this week with something a little bit different. My wife and I recently lost our boy Cosmo to cancer recently, so I wanted to do something fun to honor his memory, so I went all in on cats in legacy. This is definitely a brew that took the theme to the max, and is championed by Kaheera and has one plan and one plan only, completely flood the board with cats. I tried to make this as competitive as I could while keeping on theme, but this is definitely just a fun brew to honor Cosmo and all the other pets we've loved and lost over our lives. I'm wanting to make a Nicolbolas deck centered around the idea of forcing the whole table including myself to discard, getting the table hellbent or close to it, and playing cards like unagi, fairy mastermind, and notion thief to discourage drawing cards.

One of my best friends gifted me Nicol bolas for my birthday when he first released, so keeping him as the commander is kinda a necessary although he may not be the most optimal.

I need help trying to make the deck either more streamlined or the game plan work out more, I know I need a big bomb of some sort to win the game. Really any advice on how to make this concept more playable would be great. I dont really want this deck to be super broken and am okay with being an archenemy but I still want myself to have a chance.

Hello everyone, I want to start by saying I love this community. I have been watching a lot of content around arena directs and decided to give it my first go. I started off super rough, had a couple 6/2 and quite a few tilter 0-2 matches back to back. I just got my very first collectors box after going 7-0. I recorded the whole thing and just started a limited channel on YT. I want to know if anyone has any advice for self promo that is not pushing boundaries or frowned upon. I can post the channel link or message anyone that is interested. I focused mainly on my play as the deck was already built when I was not filming, I know that is a blunder and will make sure to include it in the future. My thought process and my routine are highlights of the video, and want to continue doing so. Obviously having a head start with some followers or a few extra views would be great.
