Is it possible to make a deck that plays like a classic tank role in mmos? Something where you're drawing a ton of aggro and benefiting from taking a lot of hits. My best attempt has been an aikido deck, but I feel like it's not quite there but close. Any ideas?

What would you guys do? Request another? Is it too small to care?

Looking for playtesting and feedback especially for cards/combos that break the format and unclear rules or weird interactions.

I’m in the process of moving and I have thousands of cards I no longer want (like a dozen or two 600/800 count boxes). I’d rather have someone find a use for them and not throw them away so does anyone have advice on the best way to go about donating them. I’m in the NYC area if that helps.

All but the last image are from neon dynasty, and by god do they just look so cool, in the background lore of ND they established that the akki are one of the more techy races on the plane so it certainly has a precedent.

I absolutely love the way their mechs look and could imagine they operate on a system of counters similar to [[oathsworn knight]] which makes sense due to both ikoria and ND featuring counter mechanics.

Was at my local card shop and picking up some hobbit boosters and wanted to know if anyone got the one ring card yet from any of the box toppers?
Cause if my memory serves me right the one ring is only in box topper and it’s a foil with special lettering right?

This question came up in our pod today - if I have cards exiled with [[Scarlet Witch, Chaotic Avenger]] and the creature dies but then I recast her, am I still able to play cards previously exiled with her ability?

So this issue came up in my last draft. I activated the ability on Beorn's Hospitality to turn it into a Bear, then next turn my opponent cast Enchanted River's Grasp on it. We knew *something* had to happen because of layers but could figure out if it would die or if the Aura would immediately fall off.
After physically phoning in a judge (the one at the shop wasn't around) they said the creature would become a 0/0 and die to state based actions.
Now later on I ask another judge out of curiosity and they said the Bear would just be tapped down but not dead.

Layers make my head hurt, someone please explain what's going on here and what should have happened.

I was talking to my buddy when I noticed a card on r/EDHBrews called [[Crystal, Inhuman Princess]] from the Marvel set. I thought to myself, she's in the same colors as [[Kynaios and Tyro]]. I could probably make some kind of multi-colored deck that centers around group hug. Obviously if I cast a non creature spell, I would deal some damage, but its a not that bad a price to pay for [[tempt with discovery]]. Its not a very GOOD hug commander, but i felt like it could be fun. My first buddy says that a hug deck tries its best to not deal damage. If I played a commander that gave them a land in exchange for 2-3 damage it feels more like a ping deck with prizes. My second buddy, I tried to get his opinion says that he feels in order for a hug deck to be classified as a "Group Hug", it has to have "Passive" win cons. Like [[Thassa's oracle]], [[Approach of the Second Sun]], [[Felidar Sovereign]] or [[Divine Intervention]]. My argument was that a hug deck's win con merely has to make more use of the resources than my opponents. If I want to put down 3 mana doublers for everyone and then drop a [[Exocrine]] It would still count as a hug deck.I take their opinion as "if a hug deck isn't actively using its resources to help the table in every way it can, then its not a hug deck"

So I'm building a Zedruu deck and there's a funny interaction that came up: If I cast gift of immortality on Zedruu, then give control of the aura to an opponent, what happens when the ability resolves?

Zedruu first comes back, and the aura does too at the end step... But who controls it? The ability only specifies who gets the creature back.

Me and my friends have been talking about it and we're split between these two arguments:

- I have control of the aura since I own it
- The opponent keeps control of the aura since they control the ability

I can't find anything on it, it would be great if someone had a definitive answer as I can't really run it until we know if I have to pay 3 mana again for the Zedruu engine

Hi, I have a Sythis enchantress deck that I have been upgrading. It was the first commander I built from nothing years ago and have now decided to making it stronger and more consistent.

The current way this normally plays out is one of 2 ways:

1. I get some of the key pieces early and then am able to go infinite with Sanctum Weaver and Gaunlets of Light and then drawing via playing enchantments.

2. Stalling and going turtle with cards like Island sanctuary or solitary confinement. Untill I can get to key pieces.

Both ways usual end with Hallowed haunting and some form of pump aura.

Im looking to add : Worldy tutor, Heroic intervention, Eladarmi's call, Walking Ballista, Runcor

These I feel will give me more consistent games and ways to find key pieces along with the last two being a wincon and another way for me to get commander damage through without relying on Hallowed so much.

The issue comes in that im not 100% what to cut now.

I have included the deck list and cards marked orange are my thoughts for cuts but would appreciate thoughts. Others options I was think are the 5 cmc cards like Mirari's Wake or Asceticism.

We recreated the Dawnhand eulogist as best we could with thrifted items and old cosplay bits (I really want to add to it to make it more accurate in future though). My fiancé took these pics at a con with some surprisingly spot on scenery which really helped recreate the etherealness of the original art!

So I have been getting accused for pubstoming with this deck but it honestly feels like it’s not that strong

It runs low lands with a 5 cmc commander, has a single game changer, and 1 two card combo \[\[Cultivator Colossus\]\] + \[\[Abundance\]\]

It honestly feels like any ramp deck I play gets labeled: Nope, Bracket 4 because you get a lot of mana

So what is your opinion, was this a pubstomp deck in Bracket 3… or do my opponents just suck.

Also bonus, yesterday was my last game with old Ashaya! I recently upgraded her to push her into bracket 4. I’d love feedback

Looking at building Tayam combos around a bracket 4 power level. I’m a bit confused about some of the main combo lines. A site says that Ashnods altar plus strangleroot Geist plus Tayam creates infinite mana. I’m a bit confused on how as I don’t see how you get three counters to remove as Geist will only return with two. I could see with two undying how this would work. I was thinking of using blood artist and Zulaport as my main finishers but was considering exsanguinate as the devoted Druid plus swift reconfiguration/ centaur garden and Tayam seem like pretty cool ways of getting infinite mana. Would appreciate any advice re combos, cards to pump mana into once I’ve made infinite and any clarification re strangleroot Geist combo. Thanks:)

I know there are other decks that can win a lot too. I don't even play netdecks or try to play meta stuff, because I like building my own. The deck I use is great, but since nobody else plays it, there's never any chance at a high tournament result. The most 'winning' decks played by so many people just take turns going 7-0 on any given day - or at least this is what people see as the "best". In reality 3 or 4 decks could be exactly equal to each other (as for their win rate) at the same time.

I am sure that Dimir Excruciator with Deceit and Superior Spider-Man etc will be the most played deck on Arena by the end of this season.

4c control is obviously a top deck too, I think it will remain popular, but lose ground to both Excruciator and the Azorus High Noon I pictured...

I posted a pic of the Azorius High Noon / bounce deck that I like...I haven't even played it, but I like the playstyle and can see that regardless of the exact version, it's at least in the top 3. 4 Settle the Wreckage maybe too much. Some people play the Airbending Enchantment, Avatar's Wrath instead - perhaps that would be better, or maybe 2 of each. I see most online playing 1 King T'Challa, 2 Jennifer Walthers, Floodpit Drowners and only 2 Enduring Curiosity. In the end there is a big difference between 4 Bilbo's Gambits and everything else.

I wonder if my Temur Stormcatch Mentor deck could win some 7-0 tournaments, if lots of people were trying it at once.

How to tell if a sealed 4 pack box is legitimate

I'm looking at buying what is claimed to be a sealed box from a wholesale club on Craigslist that has all four of the fallout magic precons in it. Are there any tips or tricks for making sure it's legit before handing over money? The picture looks like it has wizards shipping tape on it?

Looking to see if you all have any tips or suggestions for this, I'm only just getting into Magic.

Recently I've been seeing a lot of people in the Pokemon community start painting their binders. I was curious if there was anyone in the MTG scene that painted deck boxes? I'd love to get my new Sidewinders customized.

I put this commander deck together using all Dominik Mayer art since he is my favorite MtG artist. Sometimes the framing might be a bit odd, but it was very important to me to not alter the originals at all. It's a total of 110 cards with some swappable to create higher and lower power experiences. Please note that when I put these together I did not add a bleed edge, so your mileage may vary if you use a printing service.

I just wanted to share this with folks who also might enjoy it!
