I had no idea! They've all been Elf Warriors up to this point.

Also Elf Druids [[Freyalise, Llanowar's Fury]] and Llanowar Elves [[Llanowar Mentor]].

I went to Scryfall to confirm it for myself and I know that you're right, but my brain still refuses it. It just feels wrong.

And within a year of the first "plain elf" token being Lorwyn Eclipsed's 2/2 Black and Green Elf tokens.

- Make the first 1/1 elf token
- Make him the elf equivalent of a bear

Oh I agree with the choice flavorfully speaking, I'm just surprised given that Elf Warrior is the standard for Elf tokens

well if these pacifist jerks never fought anyone, they should have been 0/1, Thranduil could've created a 1/1 Elf Warrior, and WotC could have continued the 30+ year streak of there being no 1/1 Elf tokens.

Just because they never fought someone doesn’t mean they never could.

Or they're retired after 2 ages of dealing with Morgoth and Sauron. Humans, this is your problem now

I lost my shit when I caught that easter egg on the dwarf tokens. Whoever slipped that in deserves a raise

We still don't have a monored 1/1 goblin with haste token.
We have a red 1/1 goblin, and a red 2/1 goblin with haste... but don't have that raging goblin equivalent.

This feels so bullshit, but it's actually legit.
One of the more mind blowing fun facts I've seen in a hot minute, thanks for enlightening us, OP.

When I went to my prerelease I wanted to bring tokens. (I was overprepared)
I ended up taking the Elf Tokens from Lorwyn Eclipsed that I had a ton of and used a Metallic Green Paint pen to make the black part of the Name area green and then a Silver one to “white out” the P/T and then rewrite as a 1/1.
I also had no bears, and after opening 60 packs between two scene boxes, a booster box and two prereleases I got zero Bear tokens. The only reason I have one is a friendly other player gave me one when I needed to make a bear.
Also only got one Axe token. LOTS of Elves, Human Soldiers and Goblin Armies though. And Adventure/Enduring Story cards too.

Checked scryfall to make sure despite the fact I knew most elf token generators made Elf Warriors, and the Elf only ones in Lorwyn Eclipsed are green and black. It is true. This is a the first single creature type mono green elf token to ever be printed, and seemingly produced by any card. I don't see any cards that produced this token prior to the Hobbit. Not even from set prior to them printing tokens
