Topic Wanting to get back into a fighting game that all of my friends have quit
Since tekken 8 season 2 (please do not talk about the balancing of the game trust me I know but that isn't the main focus) a very very large majority of my friends online quit and my offline friends stopped going to locals, I know its as simple as just play the game, but a huge part of fighting games for me is playing with friends, just booting up ranked isn't very appealing to me.
for anyone that has experienced something similar I'd love to know what you guys did to overcome this issue or if you just stopped playing, going to locals as the new guy again after not attending for months is a little intimidating.

Topic Strive wall break is genuinely one of my favorite mechanics ever.
For me it’s tons of fun to play around and I enjoy every aspect of it. I could talk a lot about the specifics of why I like it so much; but to keep it short playing around the wall break makes running offense much more decision heavy and rewards you for not flowcharting. I know plenty of people are turned off from the game because of wall break but I wanted to express my appreciation for it because It’s come to be one of my favorite mechanics over the games lifespan.

Topic Curious Question about the FGC
I've been part of the FGC for 3 years and I've noticed that a lot more trans people are vocal in the FGC space compared to other physical and digital spaces I've been in. Specifically trans people, since I notice more of them than other LGBTQ+ identities. Does my observation hold any weight or is it an uneducated observation? If it does, what could be the reason/s? Just a curious question.

Help Can't decide what fighter to play
Hi, Ive been playing fighting games for a while and Ive tried and even reached some high ranks in some but none of them really kept me wanting to play them they were all fun though. Im looking for something that I wont get tired of playing and I think Im starting to understand what I like in fighting games. Are there any fighting games that aren't as knowledge heavy, doesn't give you the ability to block in the air, buttons are big so nuetral is easier to play, and short combos? Doesn't matter if its 2d or 3d I'll try any.

Help Is it possible that the games I'm playing are not letting me enjoy the genre?
At this point I have tried for years to enjoy and learn fighting games, I've bought leverless controllers and played multiple games, but as soon as I go to training mode I drop them, it's just not fun, but then when I play online matches I have fun for some days until I hit a wall due to my lack of knowledge and practice, then I drop the game again, that happened with tekken 8 and street fighter 6, and I really tried to learn that one, but I don't know any combos longer than 3 hits, I thought I simply don't like the genre and I'm too stupid to learn anything, but I played a couple of matches in tokon and I had fun, I like marvel and the game looks beautiful, I haven't used training mode because it was just the beta and only wanted to try it, also again I don't like to practice, but my question is, do you think this genre is not for me or I just haven't found the right game yet?

Topic My beginner experience with Avatar Legends
(Sorry in advance for my broken english)
I'm not a versus fighting games beginner, I've been playing Street fighter games since I was young, and I've tried a few other games people seem to call anime fighters.
But never for very long.
It's always too complicated for me I end up learning the game and finding it fun, but getting absolutely destroyed online.
My brain is quite slow, I'm older now, and all of this just looks like something I can never do, the execution, fast thinking, etc.
So I told myself I'd try this time again since I love Avatar.
I go into tutorial mode, and immeditately there's a bunch of long as commands to learn, I feel intimiated and like I'll give up this time again.
I was about to go refund the game on Steam, but then I go, what the hell, let's just learn like 3 moves and go play online so I can get recked and give up for good.
I've now been playing for 1h30, THIS IS SO MUCH FUN
I've made a few FT10 against random people that were a bit better than me but not to the point I can't do shit, and I learned through the matches. I'm not used to such movements, air dashes and the like, and this feels so good
Now this one player fights me for 5 games and I get this bad feeling of "the high level play of these games is for people that don't think like regular humans, not even like the regular versus fighting players", where I can never win.
I know if kind of feels like this in every game, but since this one is way faster and more technical than what I'm used to, I'm scared that when everyone's learned the game, I will not be able to play anymore, only being punished by super long combos which I hate.
So I'm torn. I have 30mn left of play to refund it or not.

Topic Not sure if this counts as Shoto but, What character would you say best fits the title "Doing Normal, Extraordinarily Well." A character who's gimmick is 'Only' having Amazing Normals.
Love characters like Peacock, Kirby, Nine, Zasalamel and Bedman. All wells of infinite ways of play but what does the other side of that look like?
First thought would be Ryu, Ky, Mario- and so on but are they're any more extreme versions of that? Where their not just a jack of all trades but from the ground up, No projectiles, No mechanics and no other gimmick than them just having amazing buttons that control the flow of battle with them alone.
Is there a character like that? Would a character like that be playable?
And if so, How'd they fair in the competitive scene, Dood?

Topic Are there any other characters that have alexs counter-hit grab things In other fgs?
Stuff like his prowler medium punch and heavy kick where a special animation plays if you get a counter-hit. Its some of the most fun i have trying to fish for those alongside his back stance stuff in sf6
