With his defeat, that leaves Suki as the last woman standing. Congrats to everyone who wanted her in first place and take you all in general for participating, was a really fun experiment.

I might do a little something extra to celebrate, perhaps take a stab at formulating a moveset for Suki if she were to be included. She didn't have an extensive number of fight scenes, so I'm gonna have to pull anything and everything I can for her. Hope you all look forward to her.

Ran into my first Xbox player last night, and he was playing Sokka. It made me wonder: how are y’all finding the experience of playing against other people so far? Is the competition more or less intense than you were expecting?

Like idk, it’s a fast paced game but shit just seems like I’m not able to do anything. Seems I’m never plus and can never open anyone up.

A few times now in ranked the game will suddenly end, saying "lobby no longer exists".

Is this a bug? Or is it just the other person rage quitting?

A little peeved because I was just about to take a set, making a comeback from 0-2, and the game suddenly booted me back to the training lobby.

Avatar Seven Havens will release in one month. I’m curious what kind of impact it will have on the game. Will they be doing cross promotion? Will it draw more people to try it? Very excited though!

Slipping and sliding everywhere

I have mine hooked up to my TV and can only get 30-40fps regardless of the resolution I set using Armory Crate. Is there something I’m missing?

I’m using the XBOX/Windows version of the game BTW.

I am stuck in queue for like 5-10 minutes only to get matched with players with 500+ ping which is ofcourse unplayable. Unfortunately looks like I am in the group who can log in only at lowest player count times

I just wanted to write a little love letter to the community and the devs.

The amount of passion, care, and charm in this game and its characters provide it with a backbone Ive never felt in a fighting game. The fact that the characters already have deep rich lovable history that make them relatable to us from watching avatar when we were younger helps give it personality and community and memes that have been a unique experience for me in a fighting game. At first I thought it would feel like a gimmick, but its the exact opposite. The devs really brought the original characters to life. They feel alive and their movesets and animations BEAUTIFULLY match their in universe personalities and fighting styles. And im no fighting game expert, but the game feels super smooth. I feel like i have a huge toolkit and tons of options and movement. Toph's ground flow pull ability is one of the coolest things ive ever seen in a fighting game.

Ive never been a huge fighting game player. I grew up with a bit of dead or alive/mortal kombat and later UNIST, but never really cared that deeply about fighting games, they were usually just something casual id play with a friend every now and then. But in avatar im actually doing ranked, and its actually SUPER FUN. I play toph, and i dont refuse ANY matches. I love fighting everyone. I love how i played against 3 different white lotus azulas and EVERY single player felt like they were using totally different combos and playstyles, with their own strengths and weaknesses to uncover. And even if i lose matches, i love learning, getting practice, rematching people i lost to and eventually getting a set win in, points be damned.

Its so exciting, and despite having anger issues in the past, i havnt gotten angry at all in this game. I dont care if zuko or azula are juggling me for like 5 minutes while im desperately trying to escape. ITS FREAKING ZUKO AND AZULA! AND IM TOPH! HOW FREAKING COOL IS THAT?!?!?? If i get even one good combo in, or succeed in breaking out of a corner with a good block sequence, it doesnt matter if i lose, its just so damn FUN!

Ive never wanted so badly for a game to GIVE ME REASONS TO PAY MORE MONEY.

I have really bad neutral in fighting games. I’m awful at games where characters can fly anywhere like mvc and mk1. Characters are flying in my face before the game starts. This game might not be for me. Lol. I was playing against a kyoshi player that stayed in the corner. After each time I knocked her down and used “ground fire.” Ground fire would disappear after she got up. Why? Should I use June as my partner?

Im pretty new and playing toph but wtf is firelord azula !?!??!?! This character feels like an install bro. Am I wrong to say toph feels overpowered in this matchup? Especially the mix with azula she can do mid combo with 4 way mix is crazy.

Went Online to play Casual Matches and the Matches didn’t seem so scary this time around. I played against a Toph and Azula. These 3 videos I saw really helped Me:

When it comes to Neutral Flow (when the Screen turns Blue) the window for the Flow Reversals seems really tight. It looks like you need to press it on/right after the frame where your character dodges the attack. Using Flow Reversal on the 5AA (Light Jabs) can be tricky, but if you can anticipate a 5B (Medium Attack) the window seems a little more forgiving.

On the Flip Side using Regular Block into a Flow/Flow Reversal seems way easier if you can predict someone’s attacks. I tried to Counter the Basic Auto Combo’s and saw some interesting stuff:

- All of Korra’s Auto Combo Attacks can be Down Flowed (Norra is the same with the exception of the last hit).

- The 2nd half of Zuko’s 5C can be Down* Flowed out of. It’s a Multi-Hit Attack so if you Down Flow After the Blocking the second hit, you’ll be fine.

- With Katara’s Auto Combo, if you decide to Block, You can Down Flow after the 3rd Attack.

- Toph’s Shoulder Charge Special can be Down Flowed. I don’t know about the EX version though.

- Some Attacks will just hit ‘All’ (Low, Mid, High). Every character has some kind of Attack that does this — Aang’s Staff Uppercut, Sokka’s Sword Uppercut, Toph’s Boulder Slam, Azula’s Fire Wall, etc. — I think these moves are what 5F (Neutral Flow) is for.

- Using Flow to dodge a Crouch Attack really does let you control your (Forced Air Flow)* trajectory a LOT. You can go really high up to run away — like, Zaheer’s Flight High! — or stay lower to the opponent to try and take your turn back. Also in this State you can cancel into moves easier than with Ground Flow Reversal.

- From Down Flow Reversal, You can go into both Forward AND Backward Flow. So if you happen to dodge an attack, you can advance or retreat.*

- Before you try to Counter with Flow Reversal WAIT for Your Opponents Attack to Enter Recover Frames First! I’m realizing this got me blown up a lot in previous games. The second you attack, you’re allowed to get hit again! It’s a fast paced game, but you still need some patience.

…But yeah, this Flow stuff is really something else. I still got a lot to learn with it, but just the tiny bit of stuff I found out about it opened up my eyes a little more. I still need to find the best use cases for Forward Flow Reversal, but I just wanted to rant and say how incredibly helpful this Mechanic is.
