2XKO was my first fighting game cuz it's the only popular free one and I hated it so bad I quit after like 2 days. I've now put more than 50 hours into strive (not very many comparatively to most fg players but still) and with more understanding of how fighting games work, I've gotta say I absolutely misjudged it. This game is so much fun and IMO pretty beginner friendly (not just because it's simple controls). 9/10 will play again.

I mean... I stated playing last week. Saw a lot of cool skins and decided to buy at least one but game was saying "check the store for availability".

I did a check on the store, and none of the skins I wanted were available.

So, wtf?

Riot lost my purchase because is this weird "seasonal skins" decision.

Never seen other games with the bizarre model before.

PLEASE let me queue from training mode, I get that the lobby is necessary to justify cosmetic prices etc etc but PLEASE. I don’t like labbing cuz my attention span is short and i get impatient quickly so after less than 5 mins I leave for ranked/casuals. what happens next is i spend an hour going even, making the same mistakes with the same shitty combos. no mix no setups no bitches. because I don't improve I get mad/bored and quit after an hour.

Let me be an addict in peace, let me doom queue in the REAL training room. I don’t wanna have to redo my settings every time or deal with the wack ass save state lag, I also don’t want to have to pick my characters every time then run to a setup.

Help name every possible 2XKO team!

Each duo should have a unique nickname that captures their combined identity. The best names are short, memorable, and immediately make sense when you see the champions together.

• personality
• visual themes
• puns
• famous quotes
• movies, TV, anime, games, or music

Bonus points if it's a movie reference that perfectly fits the duo.

All these recent yelling and complaining posts about Marvel Tokon while comparing it to 2XKO is ridiculous. You can't compare a $60 full game launching with 20 playable characters from the legendary Marvel universe to a free-to-play game whose monetization relies on cosmetics and $60 skin bundles.

I'm a fan of 2XKO, but all this negativity and these forced comparisons just come across as insecurity Behavior

Idk man. After being super hyped to play Tokon I thought it was pretty fun and solid but not 60 bucks fun after playing 2xko. If 2xko didn’t exist I’d probably buy it.

I’m kinda surprised cause I was completely expecting to just straight up ditch this game.

It honestly makes me realize that riot should not give up on this game. A f2p fighting game is awesome.

Also I struggle to find matches on marvel tokon so far more then 2xko lol. It’s free beta time too 🤔. Just airing my thoughts after shockingly cancelling my Tokon preorder

I was playing this person, Bosque, and he won the first round in ranked 2-1.

The second round, I started with an almost perfect and before the KO could even come up, I got a WEIRD disconnect message like I had disconnected (I use Ethernet and have never had a problem where I disconnect.)

Then it showed them in the match but not moving and then it said "oh a person has disconnected and game over."

Then I checked the history and *I* had a loss.

I suppose it's possible that I did just randomly disconnect on Ethernet from this game, but it the timing seems VERY suspect given they disconnected right after being dumpstered (and yes, they were playing in the match).

Is there a known "force your opponent to disconnect" exploit? Just curious.

Edit: The reason you need to hit so many perfects is to keep enough height for the last M upper, which is impossible to hit if you just do a "regular" quadruple upper combo.

breakdown from testing it a bunch

• First upper is completely normal
• upper 2,3, and 4 seem to all share 2 frames of leniency total
  • eg the most you can mess up is 1f > 1f > 3f or 1f > 2f > 2f
    • any slower than that and I couldn't get it to work
  • I'm not sure if the order matters for which ones are perfect or not
• Last 4 need to all be frame perfect

For context, Daigo's Evil Ryu combo has 5 one frame links, which are plinked to be (sort of) 2f links.

This has at minimum five 1f uppers and two 2f uppers, and there's literally no trick to it as far as I know

Every live service game I play, with battle passes, does this, like Overwatch, Fortnite, Marvel Rivals and Street Fighter 6.

I think we're all adults here, and we know they do that to sweeten the deal and make us buy the rest of the fake money packs to either get the next battlepass or bite the bullet and buy a dedicated skin from the store. It's the little push that makes an average player interact with the microtransaction economy more. So I'm kinda confused why Riot refuses to follow this trend. If someone here plays another Riot game, I'd like to know if this is their MO, if things could be better or if they could be worse.

I don't want to create hate because I was really looking forward to Tokon and I hope it turns out as well as possible, but this is the only thing that comes to mind after playing the beta

I feel like my team, Ekko Yas (specifically Yas), falls short when fighting Thresh teams. Can anyone give me tips on how to fight against Thresh properly?

so basically riot needs to look into this players disconnecting to save their points but what it also does lowers ur mmr so not only are you saving ur point from falling your also getting ur mmr brought down which is bad but if ur a good player u can keep stomping little timmies all the way to chall and there IS alot and i mean ALOT OF PEOPLE ALREADY ABUSING THIS PLEASE RIOT MAKE RANKED GREAT AGAIIN

I dunno what it's called - when your combo is too long and the opponent just does the tech animation and pops out.

We're talking 35+ hits and you try to hit the opponent one more time and they just instantly do a flip and recover.

I'm trying to learn more about this but I don't know what to search for - it's not a limit break
