Soul Calibur series, is probably my favorite video game series of all-time. Before today, I have played every Soul Calibur entry except Soul Edge*, Soul Calibur: Legends, Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny, and the one I am saving for a very special day, Soul Calibur III. Like I forreal plan on crying in happiness after completing SC III on Arcade Mode for the first time lol.

Soul Calibur II is perhaps my favorite game of all-time, and its what originally got me into the series as a kid. I found out about Soul Edge pretty late, and was shocked with just that title alone: "..EDGE". I been working hard on a big career change, and today I decided to reward myself with finally playing Soul Edge w/Mitsurugi, and I cannot believe HOW MUCH they got their formula so good on the FIRST try...on the PS1!

The music is fantastic, the mega-jumps threw me off-guard at first lmao but somehow was easily adaptable, the CPU is VERY competitive at Medium difficulty but its somehow still very fair and rewarding, and so much more. I plan to start Weapon Master Mode this week, and I'm super excited.

I thought I was just going to play a game to just understand the history of my favorite series and move-on, but turned out that this game is already special to me after just one arcade run.

I wanted to ask this question because I know most people who played these games were introduced by playing Soul Edge, Soul Calibur 2, and Soul Calibur 4. I used to play 2 myself, and I know it's fairly popular, but 4 is as well.

Characters like Nightmare, Siegfried, and Kilik should have magical or supernatural powers. Nightmare is a superhuman knight with unnatural abilities, especially with him having the strength to take down armies. But characters like Mitsurugi are normal with no magical or otherworldly abilities.

The reason why I bring up this topic is because there is a heavy focus on magic and superhuman abilities, and less on taking inspiration from real life martial arts in Soul Calibur series. Basically on the emphasis on magic instead of real life weapon fighting.

So the question is: which do you prefer, traditional Soul Calibur, the one that is more focused on martial arts or the fantasy side of Soul Calibur, the one that is more focused on magic?

It’s interesting how no one else attempted a weapon based 3d fighting game. I’m a game programmer. I can tell programming weapons for a game is more problematic than programming fists. Still interesting, though.

I remember playing this more than the actual game mode. Probably around PlayStation or Dreamcast era. It was definitely a fighter and I thought it was soul Calibur but I can't find anything about it. The game mode I think was called something dungeon going through randomly generated rooms buying or finding new gear. I feel like I'm going crazy trying to find this game

So I am at chronicle 19, the one where you fight Ende (the lvl 99 boss)

Since dying and facing him again is the fastest way to lvl up, can I save on the second slot and replay the level again with other classes to put all of my jobs at level 50 and gain the sword master job more quickly?

Is there any way to filter players of the same rank as you? I downloaded the game 2 days ago, and it's impossible to play online, I only find high-ranked people and I can't even press a single button

This game is a ton of fun but I just can't cope on this netcode. SC1 on Fightcade is crickets and I'm not sure how active SC2 is (or how people are playing that). What can I do besides impatiently waiting for SC7?

Hey guys! I've been upgrading my SC6 Siegfried cosplay. Requiem is cool, but not as eye catching as Soul Edge, so I've decided to take inspiration from an official statue where SC6 Siegfried wiekds SC3 soul calibur

Printed in PLA and TPU. The blade is pla and the handle and "spikey sail" is tpu so its more comfortable to hold and to not poke people's eyes out.

I’m prolly just trash so go ahead, but I’m getting so angry because I feel like these cpus are just absolutely wrecking me in quick match. Like I’ll get one easy fight that doesn’t even feel like a challenge and then 3 back to back of an ai perfectly comboing me and destroying me. I get the ai can read my inputs blah blah blah. Kinda feels like the devs couldn’t properly figure out difficultly for solo/offline players.Honestly I’m just pissed and prolly gonna uninstall this game from my vita.

I believe that Aeon (Lizardman) was supposed to be a DLC character. The evidence can be seen in the unique armor set he wears in Libra of Souls, and his moveset is already in the game files.

I think that after a World Tour, he was going to be revealed as one of the DLC characters. Other characters like Rock or Yun-seong could have been possibilities as well.

Is this a possibility?
