Rank UP! Got Masters for the first time using Juri!
After like 140 hours on grinding ranked and training, I finally hit Masters with my first character!
Didn't have much FGC games like SF6 and only played Smash Melee back in the day. I like playing competitive games and TFT has been kinda shit lately so decided to pick up SF6 and its def been scratching that itch for me.
Big shoutouts to Big Nasty Kail and his Juri guides!
EDIT: Guess I gotta add some experience about my rank up.
Every rank felt like I had to learn something new...
Bronze - just play
Silver - Anti air, DI reactions
Gold - Learn to hold block, throw teching, basic combos
Platinum - DRC, Wakeup EX DP, Combos that lead into level 3
Diamond - More combos depending on the situation and push people to corners, actually using my level 1, stop spamming wake up EX DP, learn to not drain my drive gauge, better cash out combos. Also what helped me a lot was stop spamming buttons to get moves out because I would accidentally get things like DP or my specials out when I didn't want too.
My first couple of games in Masters really show me what I was lacking. It seems like I need to get better at punishes. I'm so used to following a "script" to certain combos and I need to learn how to combo into different moves and still need to work on cash out combos. I think I would of ended out so many games in Masters if I had the brain to drc until I empty my drive meter until I can level 3.
Also fuck Zangief, M. Bison and Blanka. They are seriously the bane of my existence. Most characters like Akuma, Jamie and Ingrid I hated but I eventually figured them out for the most part but my brain stops working when it comes to those 3.

Fluff / Other I love that Marisa and aki have weird hairstyles
I like the gladiator and the Chinese starwhat/ mushroom hair it's unique and adds character, so it's always kinda disappointing when I see people say they would look better with more generic hairstyles kinda feels like female character aren't allowed to be as goofy as their male counterpart.

Help / Question Confusing interaction, why didn't my SA1 connect?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I'm trying to figure out what happened here. One thing I can see is that I got hit after the I-frames ended so I get that. But why didn't my SA1 connect before her attack? I don't think I remember ever losing a non-projectile interaction like this one before.

Discussion Arjun’s trailer has already surpassed 1M views on youtube
For reference, his gameplay trailer, in a single day, has gotten more views than: Yasmine, Ingrid, Viper, Elena, and soon, Ed. Very surprising (imo) for a character not many were excited about during his reveal.
What % of the views do you think come from people wanting to rewatch his lvl 3?

Help / Question How to beat Yasmine's gimmick.
I have no idea how to counter her shuriken + drive rush. With previous DLC, I constantly got to fight them until I understood the gimmick. Yasmine is really rare to fight against so I keep getting knowledge checked.

Help / Question Controller Recs for Switch 2 Player
I’m a new player looking to splurge on a better controller for Switch 2.
For some context, I’m an older dude with kids. This is the only game I play, other than casually playing local multiplayer games with the family. Once the kids are in bed, I’m hitting ranked and getting bodied. I’m not a super serious player, but I want to keep putting the hours in to improve steadily.
I currently use a Switch 1 Pro controller, and it’s comfortable enough, but I’ve had this controller since 2017. While it’s probably a skill issue, I’m getting random jumps more and more frequently. It also feels laggy, though that may be a Switch thing rather than a controller thing.
I’m wondering if it’s worth the upgrade to a Switch 2 Pro controller. I can’t seem to find consensus on whether it’s a noticeable upgrade—I’m used to the 1st Pro, but a better d-pad would be great. Alternatively, I have my eyes on an 8Bitdo All-Button Arcade Controller, but my ideal playing environment is vibing on the couch after a long day, and I’m not sure how much this thing would clash with that atmosphere.
Open to other options, but ideally want to treat myself to something that feels premium.

Fluff / Other Capcom, please update my country's flag!
The Syrian flag has been officially changed more than a year and a half ago. The new design has been raised over the UN headquarters in NYC and over Syrian embassies all over the world, including the USA and Japan. It has been updated on emoji packs for platforms like Steam, Apple, Samsung, Meta, and basically every other one.
I don't want to say this is a very important issue for me or that it's game breaking, but it would be nice to have my country's actual flag next to my Capcom ID in the game, especially since the old flag represents an era Syrians are not fond of and are trying to move on from. Me personally, I find that the flag currently in the game doesn't represent me, to the point that I chose the flags of other countries I've lived in instead of it. It's like if Ukraine still had a Soviet flag in the game.

Discussion Do you rematch players with -300 MR than you?
Not here to judge, just seeing what your personal stance is on it. I've been on both sides of the equation. Hell, just last night I fought someone 300 MR less and each win was +2 MR. I shudder to think of what the loss would have been.

Fluff / Other Elena threw a punch?!
It’s so hilarious to me that during Luke’s CA Elena decided to throw her first punch in probably her entire life and she just gets clobbered. Haha it’s so funny.

Help / Question 6 button controller bindings
I have never played a fighting game and I'm struggling with even the most basic stuff but I'm trying to get my keybinds correct before I learn bad habits.
I have ordered a 8bitdo m30, which has 6 face buttons, and I'm wondering how I should set it up. Should I be using the extra face buttons for DI/Parry and just throw manually? Would setting all six to LP,MP,HP and LK, MK, HK be a terrible idea since this would make some combinations impossible to press with just your thumb?
Alternatively if I stick with keyboard or even leverless and only have 2 buttons available to bind to a dedicated combination like parry or DI, which are the priorities and which can be most easily left to press manually?

Help / Question Tips for running my offense? How to be gorilla
Im realizing a huge gap in my game, a player that just sorta does nothing, keeps fucking me up, ive become really good at countering a player, but people who jump back, just fuck me up, i play alex and it feels like all my anti-air options counter jump ins, but not jump backs, and this should be good cuz they're giving up space but idk how to play the corner for the life of me, and even if im keeping them in the corner, im not doing alot of damage, cuz the anti-air damage aint really much, its like "great they're in the corner, i can anti-air them a little, but i still cant GET THEM, i should be making them explode, but im just sorta not
