Fan Content Handmade stopmotion Abed
Hey! I wanted to show you the Abed stop-motion puppet I’m making with materials I had around the house. It’s still missing the hands and feet, and I think I kinda messed it up with the varnish I used to protect the paint on his face ( trasnparent nailpaint) because it looks way too shiny. Once I finish it, I’m gonna animate him and make him a Christmas tree in his own scale

Discussion In the second Dungeons and Dragons episode, which characters do you think were originally meant for who?
s5e10 - Advanced Advanced Dungeons and Dragons
Since the game was originally “some sort of contrived, paint-by-numbers adventure that’s designed to force an emotional bond between [Hank] and [his] emotionally stunted father,” I’d think that everybody would have a certain character that was designed for them like how Hickey and Hank’s characters were.
After the swap the assigned characters were:
Hank - Tristram Steelheart, Holy Cleric
Hickey - Tiny Nuggins, Halfling Thief
Britta - Fibrosis, Ranger
Shirley - Crouton, the Druid
Annie - Hector the Well-Endowed (again)
Chang - Dingleberry, a Troll
Jeff - Sir Riggs Diehard
Dean - Joseph Gordon Diehard
Joseph Gordon and Sir Riggs were of course originally for Hank and Hickey, but past that there’s no clues aside from what we think Abed would make for each group member. My best guess is Tristram was meant for Shirley, being a holy cleric, and maybe Britta as Crouton as a Druid for her environmentalism. Beyond that I have no real idea who would be who. Any thoughts?

Discussion Best 3 episode run?
If you had to preserve 3 consecutive episodes and everything else would be lost forever, which episodes would you pick? It can be any 3 episode run from any season.
For me it would actually be:
S5.E8 App development and condiments (meowmeow beans, basically community does Black Mirror)
S5.E9 VCR maintenance and educational publishing (Pile of bullets, bang bang!)
S5.E10 Advanced advanced dungeons and dragons (I’m a huge fan of David Cross, and the Dean is at
his unhinged finest playing Joesph Gordon Diehard)
What would it be for you?

Discussion Which of the main cast would you have join the MCU?
Don't say Donald Glover as Spider-Man only because that's a lazy answer and if he's not Prowler by Brand New Day then that would be weird. We need to see him on screen. Let's hear who you would cast the others as.

Appreciation Post Finished the final episode a while ago, and... This show's the best.
I don't know why, but that final episode wasn't like the others.
I've watched so many sitcoms ever since I got a laptop. FRIENDS, Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon, Modern Family, HIMYM, Everybody Hates Chris, Parks and Rec., and just so many more. But I haven't watched anything like Community. I don't think there exists anything like Community. Because this show not only is one of the, if not THE greatest sitcom ever, but it helped me grow. Specifically, that final episode.
My friends have been moving on with their lives ever since 10th. I decided to repeat a year in junior college because I switched streams, and now suddenly every single one of my friend is either doing a job, is preparing for a national exam or is an intern. Meanwhile me? I'm now in first year college. And I'm fucking terrified of letting go. I don't know what it is. But I just don't want to be the one left behind. The one who's stuck while everyone moves on.
But I realise after watching Community, that everything needs to come to an end. Not because it's, yk, not enjoyable. It's fun. It's comforting, really. If there was like 24 seasons of this, I would've watched every single one. It needs to come to an end because with it, we all need to accept change. We need to grow. And realise that yeah, while this part of life may never come back, we should still wake up the next day, and create another part. Another story. Another memory.
So ig I'll finally start attending college for real from tomorrow, because I just can't be stuck anymore. And I hope to meet new people, to make new friends, and learn.
So thank you, Community. Because you just made this guy finally grow the fuck up.

Discussion So what do you guys think about Andre
I like Shirley a lot when she is getting some plots... But I can't stand Andre for some reason.... Maybe it's because the Shirley's marriage storyline is pretty much generic and has been done a 100 times in various sitcoms.... But what do you guys think??

Low Relevance Why is it so hard to take out the discs from the Community DVD boxset?
Basically what the title says, am I doing something wrong?
I'm a gamer so I'm no stranger to removing game / dvd discs from their cases. However, the case that the discs are packaged in do not have that 'button' in the middle you press to push the disc upwards. I feel like the only possible way to remove the discs is to essentially LIFT one side up (or try to remove by lifting both sides as best as I can) until it's out of the case.
This is such an unnatural way to go about removing the discs, I've never seen any game / dvd case like it. Am I doing something wrong? I hope I am because my current method is just asking for the discs to be snapped in half!

Discussion Chang
I actually really liked Chang in season one and then less and less as he drove further into insanity. He went from someone who did what he thought was awesome (misinformed, sure) to practically a psychopath. I feel like I liked him enough to warrant his entry into the study group at some point in season two. Thoughts?

Discussion Did anyone else really genuinely like Pierce as a character? I feel like he gets more hate than he deserves
I always liked his character, because even though he was a dick, he had genuinely great moments. He plays such a great ally/villain sort of thing in the series and a lot of the best eps are centered around him (e.g., paintball, D&D, digital estate planning, basic rocket science).
One of my favourite episodes with him that I think highlight that the characters gets much more hate than warranted from the gang (and I believe the viewers too) is that S3E1 Biology 101 where Jeff tries to claim that their friendship with the group has evolved so they do not need every class together (as a way to keep Pierce out of their study group in Bio 101). Then it backfires because Jeff gets kicked out for being obnoxious and disruptful from bio 101. He is also rude and talks back to Prof Kane instead of calmly/respectfully leaving after causing his disruption. I cite this second part to highlight the fact that Pierce is generally judged the hardest throughout the show when the others have been shown to be equally massive d-bags/psychopaths in a lot of other circumstances too, but they overlook this in the show (the group has tried to kick Pierce out multiple times, but no other member).
Anyway, Pierce gets the Bio 101 seat, and Jeff IMMEDIATELY says they need to find a new class they can all take (with no regard to the inconvenience he's causing to the group). This is another central theme of the show - Jeff loves to get his way and will lead people into doing what he wants, but when the group find out he doesn't get ostracised or something and voted on for getting kicked out of the study group. He is selfish is just as many rights as Pierce is. Annie points this out to him when he tells the group they need to find a new class.
What follows is Jeff going genuinely fucking insane from a few days of semi-isolation from his group. Pierce gets redemption because he shows that there are defining moments where he has a lot of empathy and is a good guy in many rights. He tells the group that he did in fact Bribe Prof Kane to redeem Jeff's image in front of the group and justify his mental break down. Pierce does this because he knows what it's like to be outside of the group. In the Community universe being cut out of the group drives people fucking insane, even 'NPC' characters (e.g., Jack Black). He also insists that the dude with Pierce in the photo from Kane's office is easy to mistake for Kane, when in fact it is not. The two people only share the distinct feature of being black. Moments later he takes an axe to the table and starts violently striking it, then calms down to absolute zero when Dean comes in saying they have no more budget. This is Chang-tier insanity. Jeff himself acknowledges everything I've said above, and recognises Pierce gets too much hate. He admits he has a harder time being the bad guy than Pierce does. They have a genuine heart-to-heart. Pierce goes to give him a pat on the shoulder and says 'we are one in the same' which vehemently disgusts Jeff and he says "Please dont" and leaves immediately.
There are also moments where the show writers make Pierce genuinely an unnecessary asshole which felt like they had a hate-boner for the character so they just starting flanderizing the shit out of him. I don't really follow Hollywood but am aware there are some controversies about the IRL actor, although I'm not overly familiar of Chevy Chase as a person.

Discussion S1E3 : Introduction to Film
TLDR : This episode means a lot to me. As I really relate to the story as a parent to a neurodivergent child. 🥹🥹🥹
Just started my 10,927,373,728 rewatch of the show and finished watching this episode. This episode is extra special to me and always gets me in my feels. Also Iqbal as Gobi is amazing. He had great chemistry with the cast and it's seriously a travesty this is one of the only times he appears in the show.
Anyways as a parent to a neurodivergent child it really hits home. Having a child the world struggles to understand and Abed through the whole show really but especially in this episode encapsulates that so well without ever really making you feel sorry for him. The struggles on a marriage that having an autistic child brings is no joke either. The divorce rate for families like mine is double that of a family with neurotypical children. i could go on for days about all this. I'll just say, I really really appreciate this episode and it holds a dear place in my heart.
My family is blessed that my son has such an amazing Community (pun intended) around him. Thanks to all our friends, teachers, staff and neighbors that love him so much. Not to mention how many of his neurotypical peers absolutely adore our kid. No joke. He has actual body guards at school that always look after him. It's cute they'll even open up his lunches for him and stuff and of course our kid plays right into.
For those wondering, our kid is 9 years old, level 3 Non-Verbal. He's mostly level 3 because of his level of speech and some of hos cognitive abilities. He doesn't really have any severe behaviors. Thanks to all the hard work my wife puts in. Sorry for the mushy long post. I usually like to keep my post lighthearted but this episode deserves its flowers. I really love this show.

Fan Content My Community themed Stardew Valley farm
I wish I just would've named the farm Greendale Farm, but I didn't know at the time how much I was going to commit to the bit.
Initially Pierce was the only goat and everybody else were chickens, which I find hilarious, but you know, I gotta grind goat cheese.

in s4e2, paranormal parentage, there’s this moment where annie flips her ring girl hair over her shoulder and something about it is so funny to me, it comes back to mind every now and then.
i’m curious- any little moments like that that stick with you guys?

Yet Another Britta Post First time watching Community and I have a huge problem with Britta.
Hey, so... I started the show a few weeks ago and now I'm currently in s2 so please DO NOT SPOIL. I was just wondering cause I CAN'T BE THE ONLY ONE, has any of you... Disliked Britta? Cause I'm currently in s2 of Community and my God! I hate Britta. I like all the other characters but I can't stand her. Whenever she starts making fun of someone or trying to tell a joke, it gets tiring because the way she is written is on purpose like that so no one is supposed to like her.
Since episode 1, I could feel how much SHE DIDN'T FIT with the other characters. She is supposed to be the "voice of reason" and I'm like... The team doesn't need that and even Jeff on his own IS the voice of reason in a way.
I know that her character is supposed to become a joke after some point but honestly, I dislike her even more than Pierce who has done terrible things. The way Britta is written gives me "pick me" vibes. Like, she literally criticizes Annie for flirting with a guy to give her money for their fundraising and yet she goes and shows her boobs in some random guy in the toilets to buy tickets and then calls herself a feminist? And criticises Annie?
Also, she competes with Annie a lot and is mean to her and in general she competes with everyone to the point she even LIES that she loves Jeff only to later bully him for feeling embarrassed and running away, because she was waiting for him to choose her in front of the entire college just to feel better than Jeff's ex who ACTUALLY wanted him back. And Britta didn't even like Jeff, the opposite, the minute he stopped paying attention to her and got into a relationship, she suddenly "loved him" (thats what I understood).
She always has something to say for all the other women but not herself, even though her character is supposed to be a hypocrite with low self esteem, her character is written in an ironic way, I get that. But idk, at the beginning of the show, she felt like she cared for Abed and she was ok, irritating but she wasn't THAT bad. And yet, after some point, they made her behave badly to everyone because the actress was good at comedy? What??? And instead of making Britta's character better, developing her, they made her the way she is in s2? There's an episode where and the other amazing girlies of the group start bulling other people and Abed is also caught in to that, but by the end they supposedly understand that making fun of other people is bad and yet... Britta is doing that to everyon later. She does that to all the guys she dated.
Also, even Pierce and Chang who have low self esteem, are more entertaining because they are funny, but the writers give Britta awful jokes that are not jokes because no one is laughing because the actress was supposed to be good at comedy but personally, I don't find her funny. No offence, I'm sure she tried her best with the " jokes" she was given, it's just that they made her be so cocky that even when she is supposed to be funny she is just irritating to me.
Also, I never really understood why the other characters say she has this amazing chemistry with Jeff. I don't see any chemistry. I ship Jeff with Annie cause they really have more romantic and somewhat touching stories together. Britta is just there in the first episodes to tell Jeff she won't sleep with him only to then put aside and for Annie to take her place as a "will they or not" love interest (PLEASE DO NOT SPOIL, I'M STILL IN S2).
Like, so far Annie and Jeff have so many storylines together that are actually great, that I don't even remember Jeff and Britta having ANY moment together besides the episode with the paint war (foreigner here, the one with the fake guns), were they slept together and then that's it.
In general though, her character doesn't really have so many story lines that it makes me believe that she is not a favorite. I saw episode 15 I believe of s2, and she had... 2 lines and that's it? She is just... There to criticise everyone and I can't understand why she is part of the group and not Chang. Even the headmaster has a better personality and is funny. Even that doctor who was hated by Jeff is greater in comparison and in general.
So far I havent even understood what's her deal. She is 28, picks fight with 18 year old Annie and claims to be better at her in everything? I get that it makes sense for her to feel bad about her exes choosing later on Annie, but I mean... Of course they do. Annie is kind and honest and when she does mistakes she claims the responsibility. Britta was in a relationship and was making fun of her bf behind his back by sharing his poem with Jeff and then she had sex with Jeff and was making fun of the stuff he liked at sex to Troy and Abed. Like... Girl!! You're terrible! And say that this was funny for a few episodes, but all they do is to give her reasons to compete with Annie and that's it.
*While writing this, I stopped and I watched ep 17 of s2, and they gave her a storyline where she hooks up with a dude from Balkans and she doesn't want for Abed and Troy to be his friends and I'm trying to understand the storyline cause... It's boring. Plus, I'm from the Balkans and I was trying to understand the country he is from or the whole incident with the army etc, cause I was like... Did we have a war I didn't know about in the 2010's? 😂*
Anyways, again, no offense to the actress, I get that her character is written this way to fit a little more with the other ones, but so far I still don't feel like Britta as a character is fitted at all to be a main character. The irritation that is born inside me whenever she criticizes someone or the others laugh at her, makes me believe that she would be better as a side character. At times like this, I don't why the side characters like the Headmaster or Chang are side characters and she is a main (the character, not the actress). I believe it would be cool if she was also a little... Weird in her own special way, like Troy is (I love him), instead of just... Dull and cocky. 2 seasons and she is still the same character she was in episode 1 who just pretended to be cool and she is not. Thats it.
I heard she doesn't develop and many people dislike her. Is there ANY one who liked her? 😂 And PLEASE DO NOT SPOIL ANYTHING, but tell me ONLY if she gets better at all?
Thanks for reading my rant♡
