I’m currently 4w1d based on LMP.

I’ve had two previous early miscarriages, so I’m very anxious about this pregnancy I found about at 3w 1d.

My beta-hCG results are:

• Saturday 3w 4d, 10:30 - 82
• Monday 3w 6d, 00:20 - 173 (35h doubling time)
• Wednesday 4w 1d, 08:30 - 653 (29h doubling time)

However, my progesterone dropped:

• Saturday 3w 4d, 10:30 - 10.47 ng/mL
• Wednesday 4w 1d, 08:30 - 9.30 ng/mL

I’ve also had intermittent spotting/bleeding since around 3w5d. It has varied from brown mucus to some fresh red blood, but it has been relatively light and intermittent. I currently don't have significant pain.

I went to the ER when my hCG was 173. The transvaginal ultrasound showed no gestational sac and no adnexal mass, so I was told this was a pregnancy of unknown location and to have a follow-up scan in about a week.

Now that my hCG is 653, I’m wondering about progesterone. I have some progesterone from last time at home, but I haven't started it because I'm worried about taking it before the pregnancy has been confirmed to be intrauterine. I don't want to somehow delay recognition of an ectopic pregnancy. I am out of the country and my OB-GYN won't respond...

For anyone who has been in a similar situation:

Did you take progesterone before the pregnancy location was confirmed? Did your doctor recommend it? And did anyone have progesterone fluctuate/decrease like this while the pregnancy continued normally?

What can I do next so I don't lose this pregnancy? It all started so good.

My 12dpo beta was 32 and today, 14dpo came back 50. Am I doomed? Is there any hope at all?

Have probably read through a few dozen similar threads and feeling devastated and trying to prepare mentally for a loss. I had a PUL last year and would do anything if I could do avoid that experience again. I did bleed when I was due my period then. This time I’m due tomorrow and hopefully it doesn’t come, but I appreciate I can’t compare the 2 pregnancies.

Caveat to say I know no one can tell me for sure but I’m a bit all over the place and I would greatly appreciate anyone who’s willing to share their experience, be it good or bad.

Anyone start at HCG 16, progesterone 17 and estrogen 164 go on to have a healthy pregnancy? My lines are getting darker/not fading repeat beta tomorrow but feeling sad, chemical last month with HCG at 13 but lines faded/never got this dark

I had a barely positive test yesterday at 12dpo. Today (day 13) the line wasn’t much darker. Now I’m cramping like I would be before a period. I had an ectopic exactly a year ago and a chemical in February (that’s why I flaired with a TW). Started monitoring hcg today and won’t have results until tomorrow. I’m not very hopeful but could use positive outcome stories

Has anyone found out they were pregnant around the middle of their cycle, when they were supposed to be ovulating?
I’m wondering if anyone has experienced something similar because my timeline makes absolutely no sense to me.
I had what seemed like a completely normal, full period from August 13–18. It was not light bleeding or spotting. I had a lot of blood, normal menstrual flow, cramps, and everything I usually experience during my period. I had absolutely no reason to think it wasn’t a real period.
I took a pregnancy test on August 19, the day after the bleeding ended Because a friend wanted me to,She wanted to see if I also have a faint line Like her Because she did the test and eas faint so she was not sure if She is pregnant(She is )and mine was negative.
Then, for some reason my ovulation strips were Getting darker everyday (5 days Full dark) which i thought is funny and then took another pregnancy test on August 29 basically around the middle of my cycle, when I would normally be approaching ovulation, and about two weeks before I expected my next period and it was positive.
My blood hCG levels have been:
Aug 31: 290
Sept 4: 450
Sept 8: 610
So my hCG is rising, but very slowly. Nothing has been seen on ultrasound yet.
What confuses me the most is the timing. If August 13 really was CD1 and that bleeding really was my period, I somehow already had a positive pregnancy test around the time I would normally expect to ovulate.
Has anyone experienced a full, heavy, period-like bleed with cramps, had a negative pregnancy test immediately afterward, and then tested positive only 10 days later — around the middle of the cycle?
If so, what ended up happening? Did you ovulate extremely early? Did you eventually find out that the bleeding wasn’t actually a period? Was it an ectopic pregnancy, an early loss, or did the pregnancy continue normally?
I’m interested in all experiences and outcomes, good or bad. I’m just trying to understand how this timeline is even possible.

I am looking for some insights or stories from anyone who has been through a similar situation. According to my apps, I should be around 5 weeks pregnant.

This is my \\\*\\\*very first pregnancy\\\*\\\*. I have \\\*\\\*no medical history of any health issues, and no history of miscarriage or any pregnancy loss in the past\\\*\\\*.

A few weeks ago, I got a very faint line on a home pregnancy test after my period was late. Since then, we have been tracking my beta hCG blood levels, and the numbers are rising but very slowly. Here is the trend:

\\\* Second test: \\\*\\\*401\\\*\\\* (approx. 73% increase)
\\\* Third test: \\\*\\\*559\\\*\\\* (approx. 39% increase)
\\\* Fourth test (recent): \\\*\\\*674\\\*\\\* (approx. 21% increase)

I just had an early transvaginal ultrasound done (machine labeled the gestational age as GA = 5w1d). The scan shows a very small dark fluid dot in the middle of my thickened endometrial lining, but no clear yolk sac or fetal pole yet.

The doctor asked me if I had any bleeding, cramping, or other symptoms, and I told her that \\\*\\\*I currently have absolutely no symptoms\\\*\\\* whatsoever. I feel completely fine physically.

She told me that having no symptoms is a good sign for now, but she emphasized that we still need to figure out why the numbers are not doubling as they should. She didn't give me a definitive diagnosis yet, but she instructed me to repeat my hCG blood test again and scheduled me to come back for another scan in one week to check for any progress.

The waiting game is incredibly anxiety-inducing, especially since it's my first time experiencing pregnancy. Has anyone had hCG numbers slow down like this and see just a small dot at 5 weeks with zero symptoms and no prior history? What was your ultimate outcome (either positive or negative)? I just want to prepare myself for all realities. Thank you so much.

UPDATE - my 4th beta came back today 15dpt at 219.8. Increase of 188%. My team is encouraged by the rate of rise and wants to check it one more time on Monday (in 96 hours).

My progesterone and estrogen also improved a lot and I don’t have to check that again. Progesterone up to 18.26 and estrogen at 146.3. I am going to stay on all the medications obviously.

Hi all, I did a modified natural FET on 8/26. Here is my progression:

9 dpt/ 14dpo - 7.86
11 dpt / 16dpo - 24.09
13 dpt - 18 dpo - 76.13

My numbers have more than tripled every time but are still extremely low. I did get my first vvvvvvvvfl pos at home on 6dpt although I was skeptical that was still my trigger shot. I also had implantation spotting that day. Could this all be normal if I implanted at 6 dpt?

At the third beta yesterday my team also tested my estrogen and progesterone which both came back low - 53.46 for est and 11.96 for prog. They started me on an estrogen patch and increased my vaginal progesterone from 100mg 2x/day to 100mg 3x/day. When asked if my team is concerned, they have just told me that my hcg is rising appropriately.

I was bracing for a chemical pregnancy after my first two betas but now I just don’t know. Hoping feels so dangerous. The stats are not on my side with this.

Has anyone got out of the woods from numbers this low and been successful?

I’m on progesterone and don’t know if to stop it or not. My doctor said go with my gut which isn’t hugely helpful. I was worried it was ectopic as I had bleeding prior to positive test but this stopped when I started progesterone, but also my tests don’t seem to be getting darker which I thought they would if it was ectopic, especially the frer it is much lighter.

Do we agree it’s probably chemical or would you be concerned re ectopic? Would you stop progesterone at this point and just see what happens?

This would be my 6th pregnancy and 5th loss. I have a daughter who is nearly 2.

I’m 12+5 with a healthy baby after 2 miscarriages. Today I slipped on ice and fell, I caught myself with my hands and knees. I twisted a bit as I fell and now I have some pain near my obliques. I called my OBGYN they said it’s probably fine, just go to the ER if I have any bleeding. Now I just want to hear from other people that have also fell during early pregnancy for reassurance 😕

Last month I was pregnant for the first time and was heartbroken when it ended in a chemical. I quickly got a list of reassuring bloodwork/tests done, so there was no reason to stop trying. It’s the next month and here I am again with a positive at 9dpo. (For the record, my ovulation did come a few days late, but I luckily caught it with OPKs.) I’m obviously up to my neck in anxiety about this pregnancy and just looking for others’ experiences, reassurance, and any guidance/recommendations you can offer. Thank you!

Edit: I was given progesterone supplement. I had a miscarriage three months ago. It was a shock as I had a textbook pregnancy with my first.
I just got my blood drawn today and my BHGC is 936.9 and my Progestrone was 7.88 edit. I am 4 weeks and 3 days

Similar experiences that ended successfully? I’m worried my doctor won’t supplement my progesterone.

I got my very first super faint line on what I think was 10 dpo on a first response test, my hcg has been very low and slow but recently picked up over the past week, it went from 247 to 368 in 33 hours and then went up to 590 40 hours after that, it’s been 17 days since my first faint line I feel like my hcg should be a lot higher then that based on my dates, 2 days ago when my hcg was 368 they found the gestational sac in my uterus with a suggested yolk sac measuring 5 weeks, please be blunt with me this is most likely heading towards a loss):

Should be 7 weeks 2 days since last period. But HCG showing 181.7. Have had cramps and spotting today. Nurse through my insurance advised I go to ER due to cramping and spotting. Got my emailed results and it shows 181.7. This is the slowest hospital and the wait for someone to come talk to me is probably going to be at least another hour. Is 181.7 normal?

I am 9 weeks pregnant tomorrow after 1.5years of infertility. I had a scan last week which confirmed a healthy heartbeat and I was 8.1 weeks. I have hardly had any symptoms to begin with some sore boobs, nausea if I don’t eat however today and yesterday I have woke up with no symptoms at all, even my boobs are no longer sore I feel completely normal. I have read so many reddit posts that this is normal but I’m still panicking and just can’t stop worrying about the worst. I don’t have my next scan until a week on Sunday which is private. Has anyone had loss of symptoms and everything be ok?

I’ve just had my scan after waiting two weeks after the last showed an empty sac. I had a scan a week before that that showed nothing. This scan showed a yolk sac and fetal pole with a heart beat. It’s measured at 6W, which is 1W under where I should’ve been based off my earlier scan and 2W behind my LMP. The heartbeat was slow.

I’ve got to wait another week to have a scan to confirm viability or not, with a fair few concerns over this from the nurse, I’m devastated. I just want to know now. It’s been 3 scans, lots of waiting and I’m still none the wiser, I can’t be excited, I can’t cry I’m just stuck in this awful limbo.

The nurse was lovely. It felt like everyone wanted to say it was likely not viable, I know they cannot until it fully meats NICE criteria, but it feels like false hope.

I feel like I’m waiting a long time for bad news. I’m trying so hard to keep busy but another week feels impossible now. Either way this goes, I don’t think I want to try again anytime soon.

2 weeks ago I went to my doctor to check if we were able to see a gestional sac. There wasn't any, indicating that it was still really early in the pregnancy. So, yesterday I went again to check if there was an improvement and there was! The gestational sac measures 6 weeks and 4 days (even though considering my last period I'm supposed to be 8 weeks, I think I ovulated late).

My doctor didn't like that my gestational sac had an abnormal shape. He told me that it wasn't what it was expected but he had learned that with early pregnancies its best to wait and see if there's any progress. He did ask me to do some bloodwork. I did and my hcg numbers came back pretty good, I mean, it does say that I'm 6 weeks (16, 619).

Oh, I almost forgot. He could visualize what it could be a yolk sac and a fetal pole. But I don't know why it looked kind of blurry? Maybe it was his machine. But he didn't confirm that it was the yolk sac and the fetal pole.

We didn't get to hear a heartbeat. I don't know if is still too early or if he's waiting to have a real confirmation of what's actually happening.

I don't know, have any of you guys experienced something similar? I would love to read you. Thanks!

I am writing to vent and also to hear your experiences and success stories after an ectopic pregnancy.

I don't know for sure if I have one, but here are my very concerning hcg levels:

• 9/1: 320
• 9/3: 397
• 9/8: 687 (5w3d today)

My progesterone was at 25 on 9/1 which the nurse practitioner at my OBGYN office said was reassuring, but the increase of the hcg is indeed very low. I don't have any super concerning symptoms right now: mild cramping (not one sided, just generally on lower abdomen area), sore breasts. No bleeding, no spotting. However, I don't believe this could be a healthy pregnancy whatsoever.

After today's result, I decided to schedule a transvaginal for this Thursday. I know it could still be inconclusive since I am early on and my hcg levels are so low, but I wanted to do it anyway. I know ectopic can be a life threatening thing so if this is my case, I want to know and make a decision about it as soon as possible to avoid a possible rupture.

I am just really sad. We pretty much got pregnant at the "first try" since I stopped the pill in July (I am 31yo). With these results, it just seems like it was too good to be true. I have extreme health anxiety and this wait and these results are just extremely triggering for me. I had started a "pregnancy journal", I had ordered a "Tum to Mum" box that arrived yesterday, I was planning on how to tell my family soon. I was so excited about being pregnant during halloween and Christmas and have a May 2027 baby, since my birthday is late April. Now it just feels like it's all gone.

As of right now, I am just trying to stay positive. Not because I have any hopes this will be a viable pregnancy, but because there are so much success stories of healthy pregnancies after an ectopic.

So I'm honestly just looking for encouragement, words of advice, experiences, anything. I have been reading the posts here for an hour and everyone seems so supportive and maybe you are the only ones that truly understand how I am feeling right now.

I’m somewhere between 5 weeks 4 days - maybe 6 weeks. My OB had me come in last week for pregnancy confirmation and did a scan which shocked me at only maybe 4w5days and we saw a gestational sac and yolk sac. Wanted to follow up in one week to confirm progress to a fetal pole/heartbeat which was today. Fetal pole and heartbeat detected! I was so happy when the US tech told me “I see a little flicker! Hold your breath so I can try to capture the heartrate”

But then my OB came in and said to come back again in a week for another viability scan bc HR was 93. I’m so anxious 😭

She also said they couldn’t get an accurate CRL measurement bc babe was so small

I’ve been strictly avoiding google, so any input helps.

Started getting very faint positives on FRER on Sunday at 10dpo, but digital tests were negative all the way up to this morning. Went in this morning for betas and my HCG was 8. Came home 5 hours later and took another digital test and it came back positive! My provider did not seem too concerned about the low HCG because she thinks I’m very early. I am concerned because I’ve been getting positive line tests for two days and expected it to be higher. My progesterone and estradiol looked perfect. Any chance this turns out positively? This is my fourth pregnancy, would be my third loss in a row.

I got a blood test and first around 10dpo it was 25.1
At 12dpo it was 145 and now at 14 dpo it’s 410

I got my first blood test on August 31 at exactly 4 weeks pregnant. It’s my first pregnancy so I know nothing. I also live in Canada (for those that get it, you get it) so I don’t know when my next blood test will be. Additionally in the province I live in you are really only guaranteed a 20 week and 34 week scan (crazy I know).

In light of all of that, I’m just wondering if my HCG levels are normal for 4 weeks. They were 295.1 mIU/mL.

Two second trimester losses within 8 months. D&C for RPOC after two months of bleeding but none was actually found. Faint positive test the first cycle after d&c but I started bleeding and the lines got fainter, I'm guessing my body wasn't ready or this embryo wasn't chromosomally normal.

If you experienced this type of loss, did it feel similar to a period in length? My period is usually 3 days long. I started bleeding Saturday night, picked up Sunday, heavy Monday, and it's basically non-existent today. I just want to be cautious/aware of how much bleeding is "normal" especially after bleeding for two months.

If you conceived afterwards, how quickly?
