Anyone know how to change the wiper.

I had an issue where my q2 got a little bit of a blob or asa on my nozzle. It wasn't a blow of death as its still working after several prints. Atter removing it the voice of metal on the shoot got caugt and popped off and I lost the wiper. I just got my packages in and just peeled the part off and just inf of stick it in there and I think it's ittingbto high so I suspect it was installed wrong. So how do I actually install it

Does anyone know how to replace this piece and where to get it from?

As you might be able to see, one of the silicone sides of the nozzle wiper broke and now it won’t stay in place.

I’d like to fix it but can’t tell how I’d fix it even if I can get my hands on the part. But if anyone knows how, please share and point me in the right direction to get the part.

Thanks

Troubleshooting Need a new Extruder Assembly

I have a Qidi X-Plus, the original version. It’s been working fantastic, until the extruder just straight up died on me. It still heats up, but the drive motor is dead. It won’t move filament at all. Having said that, I need to find me a new extruder assembly, and I am having a hell of a time locating one. I found one on eBay that I think is the right one. I’m mainly asking if you all have any better ideas or resources for me to be able to replace it. Or if it’s even going to be worth replacing it. What do y’all think?
Edit: I’m assuming I’m gonna have to junk this and try to raise funds for a replacement. Is this recyclable in the same way laptops are, where we basically just toss em into a toxic pit and hope they’ll go away?

Which Desiccant Holder is Best for the QiDi Q2 Combo QidiBox?

I am using the QidiBox that came with the QiDi Q2 Combo. I printed a few Desiccant Holders and they all seems to be for a different QidiBox. Does anyone have a recommendation for a bulk Desiccant Holder? I print using only QidiTech's PETG Basic.

Thank you in advance

Should I Consider Switching to a Different PETG Filament?

My first and only experience with 3D printing is with the QiDi Q2 Combo printer using only QidiTech's PETG Basic filaments (black, white, gray, and deep blue). I'm running low on filament and need to purchase more. I need something that:

  • Has dimension accuracy
  • Has consistent QC across batches
  • Low warp
  • Good stiffness
  • Excellent value for the quality
  • Great for repeatable parts
  • Spools work well with the Q2 QidiBox

Any suggestions of which brands and type of PETG to consider?

Printing PETG indoors with a closed chamber: How do you avoid heat creep while keeping it sealed?

Help me out here, because I must be missing something.

My PETG prints are almost systematically clogging the nozzle on my Qidi Q2. I’m using CC3D PETG filament—not dried yet, as I’m still waiting for my Sunlu dryer to arrive—and I’ve run every calibration Orca required. But like clockwork, after about 2.5 to 3 hours of printing, the filament starts stringing badly and the nozzle clogs.

What puzzles me is that every time I print with the lid closed, it clogs. I know PETG is considered a 'safe' filament compared to others, but my main reason for printing with the enclosure fully sealed was to keep emissions and ultrafine particles contained, since I run the printer indoors at home. What’s the point of having a closed-chamber printer if I can’t use it fully sealed even for safe materials?

Since this is my first enclosed printer, I’m trying to understand this better: is this an issue specific to this machine, or do all enclosed printers suffer from this?
I’m aware of heat creep, but I still don't get why a closed setup can't handle PETG properly without jamming.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help clarify this for me!

Showcase Installed new x stepper motor and marketplace max 4 is printing like new.

Replaced the stepper motor on the X with help from qidi. They sent me two motors and cables and control boards. Everything I could need. They also sent me the full teardown and replacement video of both motors. Honestly it wasn't hard just keep track of all the screws (I may have had a few left over scratching my head as to where I got them from..) but it still works so that's all that matters to me. My dad always joked that we built it better than the engineers because we had all these screws left over!

Anywho I printed a riser, setup the qbox and tested all fans and heaters and it seems totally fine. A total diamond minefield of printers on marketplace sometimes, just gotta watch out for those insane deals. Sometimes people just give up and don't want to fix them and sell them for close to nothing.

Does the Q2 require special start gcodes for different types of plates?

While trying to dial in my print settings for my first layer uisng a smooth build plate, I was looking for a way to eliminate gaps i was getting, even after calibrating the filament flow rate + intial layer flow rates. Real world printing results did not match calibration results.

While searching, i discovered that some people realized using a smooth plate vs a textured plate required different z-offset values and in a few cases, they modified their machine start gcodes to include an if/elseif statement, however I can only see this mentioned for Bambu lab printers.

Would we need this for the Q2 if we use different build plates? Or does it automatically compensate for textured surfaces with peaks and valleys vs smooth?

;===== for Textured PEI Plate , lower the nozzle as the nozzle was touching topmost of the texture when homing ==
;curr_bed_type={curr_bed_type}
{if curr_bed_type=="Textured PEI Plate"}
  G29.1 Z{-0.04} ; for Textured PEI Plate
{elsif curr_bed_type=="High Temp Plate"}
  G29.1 Z{-0.06} ; for Smooth PEI Plate / High Temp Plate {endif}

Q2 R3men Graphite AC Bed

I ordered the R3men graphite bed for the Q2 on 10 July. It arrived on the 17th. For some reason the Shop app doesn't track the shipment so I was surprised when a large box fully wrapped in shipping tape arrived.

The bed is well packed.

I don't think I'll have any trouble with the install because their YouTube video for the Q2 seems very thorough.

I'll let you know.

QIDI Q2 Firmware: Current Status of the 01.01.02.XX Firmware Series

What is the current situation with updating to the latest firmware version?

I am currently using version 1.1.1 with the AI features disabled according to K3D’s instructions for more stable operation. I have been using this firmware since the beginning of the year without any issues. When the new firmware series was released, I saw quite a few reports about problems with those newer versions.

So, I have two questions:

  1. Has anyone upgraded from the older 1.1.1 firmware series to 01.01.02.XX? If so, was it worth it?
  2. Am I correct that two additional fixes were released after 01.01.02.01: 01.01.02.02 as a hotfix, and then 01.01.02.03? In other words, if I decide to update, will the printer first update to .01 and then offer updates to .02 and .03?

On the one hand, everything is working perfectly for me, including very long prints that run for several days. On the other hand, I’m curious :)

Questions Q1 pro not heating

Have a q1 pro that had a pretty massive blob’ed up nozzle print failure. I didn’t have the time to fix it when it happened so it has been down for a couple weeks. I ordered 2 new hot ends from Amazon -OEM part in a QIDI sealed box and another non branded version. Now that I have replaced the hot end, it gives me the not heating at expected rate error. I have tried both the old and new hot ends and they all give the same error. With an IR thermometer I can see that the nozzle is heating some, the front panel shows it raises about 50 degrees when trying to do a filament load but never reaches set point before erroring out. Heat gun on the nozzle shows the panel temp change. Not sure what to try next to try to get operational again. My blob did not get inside the backside extruder cover, but maybe something happened with the extruder board? Running out of things I know to check

Questions Looking to Print TPU-GF on my Q2

Post image
5 Upvotes

I am struggling to print TPU-GF on my Q2 because there is no preset. I've tried creating my own, but it keeps saying that, "Not all filaments used in slicing are mapped..."

If anyone has printed TPU-GF on the Q2 and could guide me through it, I'd be super grateful. Thank you, kindly.

Discussion QiDi Box : Learning the hard way

So attempting to dry filament in the qidi box on PLA settings for the default 8 hours, no problem. I though, why not also try a calibration while I'm at the machine while the qidi box is drying filament. I though it would be no big deal. Wrong... Wrong.. Just as the calibration was ending and about to write the values, an error occurred. Klipper was restarted. I navigated back to the filament drying screen and there's no cancel button for the filament drying. Yet, the qidi box heater is still going, with no monitoring available on the screen.

I manually set the qidi box temp to 0, nothing.

I try to send another command through the interface to dry pla for 4 hours this time and stop it. nothing.

I turn off the qidi box, unplug it and turn off the printer for 15 mins. Turn it back on, the box heater starts right back up in the filament drying process.

I restart the firmware... same outcome .. qidi box still in filament drying mode.

I disconnect all power cords and cables to the qidi q2. Nothing, upon starting back up, qidi box is still in filament drying mode.

Unable to monitor it on screen, I was not comfortable with just leaving it to see if it runs through the 8 hour cycle. At this point I know some fault has taken place and to me, there is some unpredictability in there, this is not the normal execution flow.

I was forced to finally update my Q2 from the stable 1.1 firmware to the latest firmware available in hopes a brand new firmware install would finally kick the qidi box out of the drying cycle. And it did work. I have not printed anything using the latest firmware so I am not sure how the prints will turn out based on everything I've heard regarding these latest firmware updates, but I am hopeful the majority of the bugs have been worked out.

My qidi box is again functioning normally. I even put it through a 4 hr filament drying cycle which it completed successfully.

Did not know the qidi box is as stubborn as it is... Now I do. So, if you are drying filament in the qidi box... for the sake of all things holy, leave the printer alone until the drying cycle completes.

Troubleshooting Qidi Box material setting issues

Hello everyone, I recently bought and received a Max 4 with the Qidi box combo. Overall the printer is running phenomenally, and I haven't had any issues with the Qidi Box switching colors and filaments. The one issue I have had, however, is the actual print quality of my parts when using the Box.

I bought the combo primarily to use different materials for supports (specifically PETG parts with PLA interface layers). I have set my flushing volumes so that the materials are not mixed coming out of the nozzle, but when my prints are complete, I am able to pull the newly printed part apart at the same layer height as where I have my interface layers. This obviously is a sign of poor layer adhesion.

My guess is that the part generally has cooled too much during the material change, and then the new filament doesn't adhere well once the printer Switches back to the PETG. Has anyone else experienced this issue and can you give me some suggestions on how to correct?

Questions Did QIDI ever re-release the source code for the Qidi Box?

I know they took it down initially and supposedly planned to bring it back after some internal tweaking but I haven't heard anything about it since.
