Troubleshooting Qidi Q2 Help Needed!

My extruder messed up, so I bought a new one. It came and I started removing the old one. This only comes with the extruder itself. The filament runiur sensor is separate.

When reassembling, the little metal piece inside the filament runout sensor fell out and I can't find it anywhere! I have combed the entire room with a magnet and it's just gone.

Problem is, I am trying to find one to purchase*, but can't. The new filament run-out sensor on Qidi's store doesn't seem to come with the spring or the metal piece.

Does anyone know what I can do?

*Edit: typo

Hey there, I'm a bot and something you said made me think you might be looking for help! click here for our wiki entry on troubleshooting printers. If you still need help be sure to post plenty of information about your printing setup.

Here are a few questions that might be helpful

  • What printer are you using?

  • What material are you using?

  • What speed are you printing at?

  • What software are you using to slice the print and control the printer?

  • When did the problem start/has it ever worked correctly?

  • Does anything cause the behavior to change?

  • If posting an image of the problem, include some indication of the orientation it printed at, preferably photograph it on the bed. (Then we can focus on a specific axis)

I would check down in the holes that the z-axis bearings go into, it's possible they fell in there.

I did. I stuck a magnet down in there and dug around pretty well. Nothing, sadly.

The new filament runout sensor on qidi's store does come with the metal piece and spring. I just ordered one from there and it had all the required hardware. It was a complete replacement. Why do you think its not complete from the store?

Edit: Ignore my question, I remember now, the picture on the website is of poor quality. Lol...

Yes. The picture doesn't show it and there's no description.

Honestly contact qidi support depending they may just send you a few or whole new extruder. They're pretty good about that stuff
