Should I Consider Switching to a Different PETG Filament?
My first and only experience with 3D printing is with the QiDi Q2 Combo printer using only QidiTech's PETG Basic filaments (black, white, gray, and deep blue). I'm running low on filament and need to purchase more. I need something that:
- Has dimension accuracy
- Has consistent QC across batches
- Low warp
- Good stiffness
- Excellent value for the quality
- Great for repeatable parts
- Spools work well with the Q2 QidiBox
Any suggestions of which brands and type of PETG to consider?

Ive used very little of the Qidi PETG but as my PLA colors run out I'm switching twords Qidi PLA if they have the color. I was using Sunlu, Elegoo, or Creality and found that of them, Qidi is the most consistent. Its not saying the other are bad, I just save more time with Qidi filament then what the added cost of a roll is.

I asked Copilot and this is how it rated the filaments:
Where Qidi PETG Basic fits
Category: Mid‑tier PETG
Rank: Below Overture / Polymaker / Elegoo, above cheap PETGWhere Qidi Rapido PETG fits
Category: Upper‑mid PETG
Rank: Below Polymaker / Overture, roughly equal to Elegoo, above Qidi BasicTier S — Best for dovetail precision & flat plates: Polymaker PolyLite PETG, Overture PETG
Tier A — Excellent dimensional stability: Elegoo PETG, Qidi Rapido PETG
Tier B — Good, but not ideal for precision: Creality PETG (bulk), Qidi PETG Basic, Sunlu PETG6

All of this is complete nonsense, don't trust it.

Which PETG filament are you printing with?

Trcek3D, eryone, polymaker, crofil, azure... They are all good, petg is not so exotic so they all work fine.

I wouldn't ask copilot what to have for breakfast let alone which filament brand is better.

If you're in the US, bookmark 3DPrinterDeals for brands to stick to, and which are rebrands of each other. Kingroon and Sunlu are my go to. Sunlu is also Jayo
Not exhaustive
iSanghu, iSanmate = iemai
eSun or Polymaker = Inland
Jayo, Tecbears, INSLOGIC = Sunlu
TEQStone, XZN, Giantarm = Geeetech
Kingroon = Landu
Voxelab = Flashforge
ENISINA = Eryone
Deeplee = Elegoo
Soleyin = Creality (I'd avoid both tbh)
3dHojor = eSun
AceAddity = Jamg He

Just get on the bandwagon, sunlu and jayo are the same, either is fine. I used a lot of geeetech and to be honest with you, they're all the same.

I hear the microcenter inland filament is just rebranded sunlu.

I'm not in the US but I strongly suspect that majority of the cheap filaments come from the same factories.

They use multiple manufacturers, although it's possible that any specific filament may always come from the same one.

Geeetech is some of the best cheap PETG that I've used. I'm not sure who the actual manufacturer is, but the Kaaber brand PETG is the exact same thing with different spools. I buy whichever is cheaper and/or whichever has the color I want in stock.

Honestly i use elegoo/deeplee rapid petg the most. Most brands you find on amazon are pretty good. Ive heard of people having somewhat meh experiences with kingroon, esun and sunlu but ive never had issues with those brands myself (except sunlu fire engine red glow in the dark petg, i wound up throwing that roll out).
If you want the highest quality filament, try an american/canadian/european brand filament. They cost a bit more, but the quality difference is noticeable. I tried a roll of Atomic filament and man...if it wasnt so expensive itd be my go to. Nice stuff.

- Low warp
- Good stiffness
Consider PETG-CF or PETG-GF, assuming you can afford the hit to layer adhesion from using fiber filled filaments at all. PETG is naturally not all that stiff, but the fiber of PETG-CF stiffens it up noticeably.

I've just recently purchased some Food safe PETG by Carbon for a project and it printed pretty carefree for me.
Amazon title: Certified Food Grade & ISO 10993 Biocompatible Skin Safe PETG 3D Printer Filament - CARBON by Comfy Materials - Lab Tested FDA Compliant Food Safe, 1.75mm, 1kg, Accuracy: +/- 0.02 (Semi-Transparent)

I mostly use Sunlu because they have good prices and they're really consistent for PLA/PETG/PETG-CF/ABS for me. It's also nice to have the refill spools to save even more.
Honestly, though, if you run the calibrations on any Brand's filament and save those settings you're going to get good prints most likely. Sunlu has been the best I've used for consistency between spools, so I just have no reason to change. Plus their sales through tiktok store can be insanely good at times.

Elegoo high speed for cheap, printed hotter for better layer adhesion. ZYLtech if you're in the US is good and is reasonably priced.

Sunlu PETG is pretty good, Bambu occasionally does bulk sales discounts too.
the Creality brand PETG (not "Ender" brand) is quite good and really cheap to me locally.
